Worse thing for Adkins to do today is to make unforced team changes when there could be 1 or 2 out naturally anyway. Don't want to be in position where nearly half the team are not used to playing with each other in what is a hugely important game. I just hope that Gaston is OK to start and that the Shaw issue is one they're keeping close to their chests - if it's true he's out then expect Fox to start.

Kraken - you're speaking an awful lot of utter sense in this thread. Good stuff.

Mmm, I think there's going to be a meltdown (again) on here tomorrow. Reading will be fighting for a draw at the very least - it's going to be an edgy tight game where a draw is the probably likely outcome. However, there's every chance that we'll get caught short - particularly is Shaw is out - and that will spell much doom merchanting on here. To be fair, if we lose Adkins tenure might start to look very shaky. 1-1

Well, let's hope that Julius 'Caesars' his moment. > I'll get me coat...>>>>

We need to win this - we're at home FFS - if Gaston is out then that puts a huge question mark over our ability to provide pace in attack. Either Mayuka plays or there's every chance we will lose the game IMO as they will shut up shop and hit us on the break (again).

Reading and Sunderland are pivotal to our season
Saint Fan CaM replied to corsacar saint's topic in The Saints
Definately need 6 points from these next two games. Anything less than 4 points and I think NC will act - he has to otherwise (a) he's not being seen to do his job properly and (b) RDM will not be hanging around too long waiting for an appointment and IF anyone new is to be appointed, it will best be done before the end of the year. For me, the Liverpool loss was one of the biggest disappointments - not just because of the defeat, but the manner in which the team played...lack of spirit and determination. Thing is, if NA can't get the team playing above their ability for a game against Liverpool, when will he? -
Very disappointing in my view - Liverpool were pretty poor and we gave them the game. There was no urgency to our play - Lallana never got into space, so nothing happened down our right wing. Not one cross into the box found Lambert who had a nothing game when he could have made a name for himself. Stirling was their only really decent player, but for most areas of the park we were non-committal. Our MOTM - Clyne - him and Shaw only two of ours that looked bothered.

No freakin' passion about our play whatsoever.

2nd to every ball.
-
We're paying them a little too much respect IMO - need to get our game going.
-
Exactly this. Plus we're losing the game in midfield - Cork and Morgan sitting a little too deep for my liking and Lallana and Ramirez getting dragged about to suit their game. This ends up with us not getting a grip on the game.

Can't see anything but being picked apart by Liverpool I'm afraid. 3-1 to L'pool.
-
Superb - I thought it was pretty hilarious to be honest - something daft about seeing a bloke/dog strutting their stuff.
-
There is no point in changing keeper - like it or not, Kelv's legs have gone and Boruc is a nutter - both of them are no better than Gazza. However, I do suspect we will see a change as Adkins was not happy after the Norwich game. Liverpool are there to be taken - a point at least should be expected - they are really not that much right now.

The Result Tonight v Norwich-How Do You Look At It...!?!
Saint Fan CaM replied to dannysfc's topic in The Saints
We wuz robbed by (a) rubbish Ref (b) daft defensive challenge by Clyne (who was miles out of position), © basic goalkeeping error, (d) Norwich side that was well drilled to stop us playing and nick a point. Plus we did not pressure their keeper anywhere near as much as we should have done - he was there for the taking. Having said that, how Norwich managed to beat Man Utd I don't have a clue. They seem to lead a charmed existence at the moment. -

Dunno - but expect to see either Davis or Boruc in goal Saturday. Probably Boruc. -
Disappointing and boring match, mainly brought about by a Norwich side who were intent on breaking up our play and defending deep and a Ref who was intent on giving Norwich every chance to play their game their way (a complete knoob).

One thing is for sure, Adkins was seething about the keeping situation on Solent interview. -
This is a really tough one to call - normally I would call a Saints win for this game at home, but with Lambert possibly out we'll could get beat 1-2. ):

Mmm, last time we played then Saggy was at the helm. Mmm, seemed we all loved 'Arry then!

Are we finally in a position to keep our youngsters?
Saint Fan CaM replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
Dear oh dear - some people on here seem to place football players in some kind of fourth dimension world! It's no different to you or I - sometimes you find you like working for a company so much, that it would take a daft amount of money to make you even consider a move to another company that's an unknown quantity. Of course in football, if you are playing in the Prem then there's even more attraction as the money and perks are higher etc. etc. Contracts are not really worth too much these days and the power is in the hands of the player. To answer the original poster - yes, of course there's more chance of us keeping our youngsters - if they want to stay here that is. If they don't then they will move on. The club will not resist a bad apple moving on because solid team building and 'together as one' is at the core of the culture of the club. -
Saints 2 Newcastle 0 - Post Match Reactions
Saint Fan CaM replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Superb result crafted by an all-round top team performance. Everyone worked their socks off today with tough determination and then switched to silky smooth passing mode when we got the ball. We should have won by 3-4 goals, especially given JRod was not offside when he scored. One massive negative was the Ref - several appauling and completely wrong decisions that I don't think I've seen the like of anytime - not even in League One! -
I was absolutely convinced that the Beeb would do the usual thing and put the Chelski / Citeh game on first - pleasantly surprised to see they appreciated the quality of the display Saints put on today. We LOOKED Prem class right across the park without a doubt.

Poll: Is liking the chairman important to you?
Saint Fan CaM replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
He's backed the most important manager in his business. He's presided over a two years of increased sales. For the most part, he's quite content to let others do the talking for him. He is focussed and doesn't take **** from anyone that might divert him from his goals. I would say that's a pretty decent list to be going on with. Unless you've got an agenda of course.
