Just got in to hear of this news. Pleased to see that he is stable and improving in his recovery. While the thugs that perpetrated the injury/crime should feel the long arm of the law, I also feel that if someone puts themselves into a situation then they must take some responsibility for any likely outcomes. Society today is so soft when it comes to taking responsibility for ones own actions. If you don't want to get hurt, then don't get drunk in or around a place that will harbour the kind of people that thrive on aggro - like a nightclub for example. I'm sorry to have to say that given the amount of money professional footballers earn, I am amazed that they often end up hanging around seemingly the most sleaziest of places and often to score with a slapper.
