Perhaps that's why I said CB priority? (:

Poch to leave at end of the season?
Saint Fan CaM replied to jasoneuelllfanclub's topic in The Saints
At last, someone has posted something really original and sensible. Yep, let's sack another Manager and let's do it mid-season...it's a NO BRAINER! I'm really impressed Glasgow. -
Looks like this thread is about to shut up shop and close until the summer.
-
CB priority...then striker...then attacking midfielder. We'll see nobody come in...fairly convinced as the squad stands. Unless Yoshida goes, then CB would be more likely.
-
This has got draw written all over it. 2-2 or WBA with a controversial last minute goal for 2-3 (the Webb effect).
-
And that my friends is the gravitas this plonker holds for the game and explains at least in part why we don't win with him in charge of our games.

Puncheon to Palace - Perm Signing (Confirmed)
Saint Fan CaM replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
To my mind the key issue with this is that Pulis is in fact assembling a decent team - no way will they get relegated and could quite feasibly start putting upwards pressure on the likes of us in mid-table land. -
There's something not right about Lambert...seen the same body language on other players that want out, but there may be other factors at play too. As good as Lambert has been for the club, he is not bigger than the club and I suspect he will get side-lined if he places squad harmony at risk.
-
Basically this. Thread deserves little more.
-
I don't think that was the issue - he seemed wrong from the word go IMO. J Rod scored one then seemed to decide one was quite enough against his boyhood team so wasted a couple of excellent chances.
-
I think the biggest give away on Lambert was yesterdays game. He looked really disinterested and without energy to his performance. His goal lightened an otherwise grey performance IMO.
-
The guy can't help being picked. I think he really likes the club and is a big character in the changing room. Problem is he's not really up to the standard required and this enhanced by the lack of games he gets. Fav moment... the slip that turned into blinding pass in yesterdays game.
-
Thats why peeps say he has no pace...what they mean is he's not agile enough to MAKE the space necessary to allow him to shoot from that distance. Overall good game to watch, but seriously...Jos has such poor positional sense its frightening. Lambert has an issue of some sort - other than his goal he looked slow and disinterested.
-
Agree. Also, did anyone else see Jos warm up with the strikers? He was more accurate in his shooting than ANY of our strikers...had a very sure foot on him and was belting the ball too. Is there a case for him converting to a striker....afterall, he seems to like putting the ball in the net (sic)?
-
Not yet. He has 2 full seasons to prove himself.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-3 Chelsea
Saint Fan CaM replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Better side won...simple and I don't know why some feel the need to state any of our players...they all worked their nuts off -
Depends on many variables. Would the stadium lights affect air traffic for example? There would be a need for significant road improvements as J5 M27 is a nightmare already.
-
Perhaps Ford have a legal duty of care to make good the site? Perhaps the Landlord (I think this is the Airport authority) have some responsibility too? Perhaps a three way deal could be arranged with club contributing a portion of the cost? Still unlikely IMO, but not out of the question.

Are we one of the hardest teams to beat in the league?
Saint Fan CaM replied to Tomobz's topic in The Saints
Best way for me to answer this is to say I don't go to games now thinking we have NO chance of winning. -
1st player IN, 1st player OUT sweepstake
Saint Fan CaM replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Only fringe players will exit...no new players in, so bit pointless. However... IN...none. OUT ... 10th -
No, I don't think we will sell or loan in Jan window unless there is a direct replacement lined up. I don't think we would find a player of his standard for the money we paid, particularly when you consider how much investment to his development we've made. Unless we buy from Barca we'd probably not get someone like him without having to wait for the player concerned to 'come good'.

The road infrastructure to SMS is rubbish and one excellent reason to move, although the current works around the end of the bridge may have been instigated to help. However, I really cannot see the planning permission going through for the Ford site and there must be huge costs involved that I don't believe the club will have available. No, at the moment the more likely scenario is for SMS development (if indeed anything is in the immediate plans).
