It's an interesting point. I don't think we've been as creative, but I do think we've become more effective in relation to what's needed to get out of this league. We can turn on the skill a bit more in the NPC perhaps.

No - Lamberts skill at freekicks won us the game actually. I agree that it's good to see a bit of passion - but in a controlled manner. I don't want our team to be leg-breaking cloggers...we are, and can be, better than that.

Damn right I can judge him. And believe me if Bompey had come back into the game and drawn or won because we went to 10 men, a lot more would be slamming him. It was a stupid challenge that was completely unnecessary given Saints position and the type of decision from a player out of his depth. IMO of course.

Blimey- you moan at others not reading the thread! To repeat, I don't care about half-time as most peeps stay in their seats until the whistle goes. It's before the full-time whistle that I get the freakin' hump.

You make a good point - he might improve enough to be useful, however my feeling is he will not be good enough to improve in the NPC. If we field anyone of his ability in that league we will be found out (like we were so many times when we played sub-standard youth during Lowe's tenure). Can't afford to be sentimental about this - the club intends moving forward at a pace and that means always improving the overall level of competency across the squad. If he was good enough to do that he would be displacing Schneiderlin for example.

Listen, don't get me wrong - he may well be improving (I'd be even more disappointed if he wasn't), however I don't see enough in his game to indicate that he'll make the step up to NPC level (unlike most of our other midfielders). He is probably not too far from being on a par with Hammond TBF but I don't see him being with us all the way through to the Prem - do you?

Thought Martin put in a very assured shift on Tuesday - not sure what some fans expect to be honest. He won 90% of the aerial challenges he was faced with from where I was sitting. He put one stray pass to an oppo player - how many times has Jaidi done this?!

Mmm, sorry to be the voice of dissent here, but for me he is far away being good enough unless we're content to remain in L1 forever and certainly not good enough for the NPC. Not got a problem with him being 4th choice while we're in this league, but to harbour thoughts of him remaining with us as we climb back through the NPC is daft IMO. He's far too lightweight in the tackle and not decisive or precise in his passing to be an effective CM beyond L1.

I wear a replica shirt sometimes. I sit in the Kingsland centre and have got a great aisle ST seat. What I detest is the hoard of early leavers slowly making their way down the aisles with 10 minutes to play of the 2nd half - it should be f**king banned!!! I pay good money to watch the whole game but can't because some tosspot is blocking my view! So while I empathise with Turkish, I have to say the issue has absolutely the square sum of f**k all to do with replica shirt wearing or the consumption of food/drink.
