  1. Good result. Puncheon was excellent. Lallana was good, but is trying to be too clever. We need to move the ball quicker - find channels. I do hope that either Sharp or Lee are given more of a chance to shine by playing into channels rather than lumping it to Lambert all the time or passing it into the net! The ref deserves a medal from Cardiff for that performance - totally bottled two stone-wall pens...Lamberts being so obvious it was comical that the ref didn't give it.
  2. Cannot see Sharp not starting alongside Lambert unless he has been bought in on the understanding that he's Rickies stand-in. Strange thing is, where does that leave Lee, the only international striker in our front line? If I were him, I would be wondering whether I would be getting a game atall!
  3. Done. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2594184,00.html
  4. Very interesting to see Sharp come in. I am currently managing Saints in Fifa 11, currently sat at 2nd place in NPC and have just signed Sharp in the January window. Started him early January and already he has scored more than Lambert. True story - make of it what you will.
  5. We would be stupid not to bring in a good big CB - preferably with a decent left foot. Jos has made a big difference to the defence.
  6. I always cringe when so called 'experts' on here slate a player because of recent form in another team, especially when said player has been plying his trade in a higher league. You can't judge a player entirely by that standard - a change of manager, playing style and team-mates for example could make all the difference and provide a new lease of life. To think otherwise is immature at best.
  7. There's only one issue with this I need answering - why haven't I been invited yet? Not good enough!
  8. At last he's with us - great news! Welcome Bruce - hope you've got some pace and goals in you!
  9. Mmm, good news this. When I see a determined TEAM performance from him, I will believe it to be GREAT news. We certainly need someone of his experience and drive to bolster the squad. Holmes unfortunately looked worse than I've ever seen him on Monday and it's going to take a long time for Falque to find his place.
  10. Surely what we need is a big targetman to pressure Lambert's position or replace him if he's injured? Once the opposition have figured out how to stop us playing out from the back, there's no plan B if Lambert is not playing and we get caught time and time again because Davis is too damn slow with his distribution (although to be fair quite often none of the team are racing ahead looking for a fast ball out).
  11. I predict we will try to pass the ball into the net tonight. Not enough fit players to run at pace - can't see Guly or Connolly being able to keep up with Falque or De Ridder if one or both them play. Who knows - perhaps Falque is so good he can unlock their defence all on his own? (:
  12. Solent reporting on the story this morning. Looks like he's going to be disciplined to today. Good.
  13. Old news Jason you dipstick. I knew Nicola had banished him to the kids training - he deserves every second of time rotting there until we finally get rid. He'll be plying his trade in the lower leagues when the word gets around about his character.
  14. Unless we sign a absolute superstar you'll not see a new starter go straight into the starting 11. Especially one as young as Lee and one that has travelled half-way round the World. Chill people and stop being "look at me" alarmists - he'll be here soon enough.
  15. Wow - we're now 2nd with a game in hand and no Lambert. This game is a tough one but I expect us to win it - let's face it, we're at home. Need some big characters to step up to the mark and really do battle - need to chase down every ball. A big game for us this one.
  16. Slightly different?!?!? That is totally different to how I hear him talk every week - week in week out! LOL Nice to hear something about the man as opposed to the sound-bites.
  17. Gotta say that is very good! Very good indeed.
  18. True - this guy might be OK as at 19 he is still quite young and probably quite happy to play 2nd/3rd fiddle to our established strikers.
  19. I agree there are loads, but not necessarily loads available to us for whatever reason. If that were the case our transfer dealings would be done and dusted by now I might imagine. Let's not forget we're clearly planning to go up - this in itself will limit the type of player we might look at (i.e. no point bringing in a NPC level player now unless we're completely desperate in a given position, which we're not).
  20. Don't believe Lee will feature unless Guly is not fit and even then I think De Ridder would get a game ahead of Lee. Falque will be on the bench as will Harding and possibly Fonte if close to fitness. Chaplow not ready yet.
  21. OK then - Hooper and Rodrigues - that's two. Any others you can think of that might be (honestly) realistic?
