  1. I like Pardew. I like the way he influences players to join us and the style of play he brings generally to matchday. I like the manner in which he talks too. In short I am enjoying my football more now than I have for 4 seasons and for that reason alone I don't want to see the ship rocked atall. However, I recognise that a 5 year plan for a businessman like Cortese means just that, so I can see the end of this year being a very intense time for AP if we're not in the top 6. However, all the indicators are telling us we will rip this league up next season (and that's without factoring in any additions in the summer).
  2. We will beat Norwich 1-2 and we will make the play-offs just. HTH.
  3. To be honest I didn't think Lamberts delivery was any better than I've seen Lallana or Harding provide. So yes, he should not be taking these kicks.
  4. Simple answer - yes appeal. We have good grounds - they effectively cheated (no change there then) by fielding players bought while they were insolvent. Couldn't give a monkeys whether we play Brum...just want to see a massive wrong righted and an illegal result wiped from the history books. Oh and I want to see those fishy ****ers squirm even more when their horrible little club dies. But I'm not bitter... (:
  5. They knew exactly what they were writing there - totally disrespectful to a team of professional footballers playing in a lower league that actually gave a fantastic account of themselves over 80 minutes, exceeding the rubbish served up by their Pimpley counterparts. This alone makes me want to see those fish-f^ckers get wound up by HMRC. I want them out of Hampshire completely - they don't deserve to grace the same county as Saints.
  6. * Scoreline flattered them - James kept them in the game - we made them look poor until almost 80th minute. * Poor finishing on our part let them get away with it and Lallana probably had the best chance. * I thought Antonio had an OK game, but he is young and I could see he was almost cramping up with the tension of the game early on. * Our backline was weakened by Thomas and Perry. I would have had Thomas in the middle to start and James at RB (that would also have meant Lambert was not taking the long free-kicks and corners). * Our goal came from Lambert on the end of a free-kick he did not take. Does this not indicate he is better in the box than not??? * I predicted they would hit us on the break late in the game and that is what happened. I feel gutted on the one hand, but proud to be a Saint and looking forward to seeing the rest of the season with a full strength squad, including Wembley. * And right now, I do NOT subscribe to the "I don't want Pimpley to go bust" sentiment. I want them to hurt as much as it can hurt and that will be for their poxy little sh*thole of a club to fade into oblivion. I want that now more than I want us to beat them. So come 1st March I will be praying that the HRMC has some gonads and shuts them right down. COYR!!!

    today

I fear SMS is not the same as Nottarf Carp or The Dell in terms of providing an intimidating atmosphere. Nevertheless we really must try. Those nearest the touchline will be able to make their feelings known to the skates. Let's do this. COYR!!!
  8. That's really good news if true - because whatever the result, it will mean they are up for it...they believe they can take them. And that is the essential ingredient to making things that seem improbable, actually happen. We can do this...together we will beat those smelly fish fiends.
  9. I think we might have trouble getting possession of the ball. They will move too quickly for us and the defence will panic. That will lead to hoofball and no service to the midfield leaving Lallana, Waigo, Antonio, Morgan and Hammond almost without a game. And Ricky will be man-marked out the game. All this will lead to them scoring a hatful against us...so final score 2-4 to the Skates. OR.... AP has done his homework and told the lads to close them down, don't let them settle on the ball. Play our usual attractive football because they will not be expecting us to play. Make sure they know we're on pitch - Thomas/Perry to nibble some ankles. We COULD just do this IF the players all turn up - fight for each other - and get an early goal if possible. THEN we might nick a 2-1 famous victory.
  10. Got to agree with that. I cannot for the life of me imagine that the PL will want to be put into a position where it effectively has a controlling interest in one of it's member clubs. That would be seen as contravening at the very least the spirit and intent of independance and would be extremely objected to by all the other clubs in the league. In short, an untenable position for the PL.
  11. I am starting to feel a little nauseous at the thought of tomorrows match due to (a) excitement... (b) remembering the stench they create © even remotely contemplating a win for us. I think I might actually blub if we win! (-; Have to say though I don't think we'll win as they'll be too much for us in the end. Probably 1-2 to them until 85 mins ... we'll leave ourselves open and they'll hit us on the break to leave it 1-3. It will be a sad loss in some respects, but on the other hand a great day out taking the pee out of Pimpley.
  12. NO.....
  13. If they win it will be due to their pace. Our biggest attribute will be taking the game to them and closing them down very early. Any player that wimps out on a tackle will not be in my good books. I really think we could do this but I reckon it will finish 2-3 to them.
  14. What a rip off.
  15. Utter rubbish. I could cite many reasons why, but to start just check out who is next to Waigo in the OS photo of their own goal. Err, might that be Thomas by any chance? I think the posters on here who are slagging off 1/11th of a Saints team that put up a good fight to take us to a Wembley final need to grow some nuts. Thomas is hero for his stance against the dirty tactics some of their less than professional players displayed.
  16. Thomas had a huge part to play in our win last night by showing some heart and passion to the team. Look at the photo of their own goal - who do you see nearest to Waigo? Thomas - from the RB position - and this guy is no spring chicken FFS. To my mind the guy is a hero and he reacted to Lallana being cynically kicked off the ball ball by a Dons player. And that was after they tried to provoke a reaction on more than one occasion to get one of ours sent off. Grow some b*lls and get behind all the lads - Thomas included, because he's just the type of player that will get us out of this rubbish league.
  17. The club promised ST holders 1st refusal on two tickets and they will honour that quite rightly. We forked out a lot of money at a time when the club was on the verge of oblivion - we deserve some recognition of our loyalty IMO. Everyone else will just have to wait their turn, however I cannot see too many being disappointed TBH.
  18. AP is set to become our next hero like McMenemy and Bates before him. All it takes is a little bit of steel from our owner and his Chairman - let's hope they have the stomach for the fight, because this is a very hard league to get out of - almost impossible starting from -10pts and yet Pardew is making a real go of it AND has got us to Wembley with just 90 minutes seperating us from the first silverware for over 30 years. And that 6 months after the club was facing oblivion. In short he is doing a remarkable job in a short amount of time. To say he is not on the verge of significant achievements would be a gross underestimation IMO. It would be an incredible change of heart, tactics, policy, culture - you name it - to see AP not being backed all the way.
  19. You know I was having a pee just before the game and heard the announcer say Hammond was playing - I just knew that we would win with him back. Thought the side looked good. Jaidi and Fonte just need a little more time to get used to each other and they will be an awesome CB pairing. Waigo, Antonio and Lallana put together some utterly sublime passes tonight that could grace the Prem - the problem is consistency at the moment. Anyway, fantastic game - great atmosphere. Cannot wait now until Saturday - I really feel we can get something from this game. COYR!!!! We're going to Wembley!!!!
  20. Exactly - however, I suspect its mind games. They will probably be waiting for an opportunity to catch US on the break. I also expect Ince to tell them to intimidate and bully us. Try to get a player sent off to even things up a bit.
  21. SH1T!!!! I wasn't nervous atall until I started reading this thread!!! Saints of the past would quite easily screw this up. Now AP has assembled this team, I reckon the whole squad will be aching to get to Wembley - it should mean more to them in their careers than ANYTHING else, such is the history of the place. So tonight I expect nothing more than utter 110% effort from every man on the pitch. I just hope the officials are good, because I reckon Ince will tell his team to intimidate and hack away at our players - attempt to get a player sent off - that kind of thing to swing things in their favour. It could get ugly. We MUST close the Dons down from the 1st minute until the last all over the pitch. Don't let them play - don't give them time on the ball. Control the tempo. Switch between hoofball to Lambo and passing game to feet. We CAN do this! COYR!!!! PS: I REALLY hope all the extra plastics at the game today make some F-ing noise.
  22. Does no one find it a little too coincidental that when we revert to our 'old' defense in cup games we win and concede fewer late goals? Bring in Fonte and co and we're fragile again. I think this is connected with Davis - he was thought awful at Sunderland but with time to work his defence he got better. Now once again he's with a bunch of strangers across the whole back 4. We need to see Jaidi and Harding back and then results might improve. However, AP needs to be given time into next season. Why? Because many of the current 1st team are cup tied so he has to swap the side around. This is less of a problem in higher leagues but in L1 the players are less adaptable. Next season I feel will be a completely different affair.
  23. I think you're reading far, far too much into the comments which really were quite positive in favour of Saints....i.e. for each element of each of the clubs examined, Saints came out on top and the arguement for Pompey was extremely mute. Murts did a good job bigging up Saints without appearing smug or over-confident. Top guy.
  24. Couple of points regarding this - (a) I thought Jacobs had been booted out...and (b) Solent were reporting this morning that it was thought a deal was not likely as Gaydamaks hold on the land would put off potential investors....and © remember when we were at deaths door and all the weird stories that circulated just before admin about possible investors that came to sod all?
  25. It will be great to see some proper top class officials for a change, however they will probably be in Prem mode, where breathing on another player causes the ref to blow. Saints need to be aware of Pimpley's cheating tactics - they'll know how to influence the Prem ref/lino's to their advantage, mark my words.
