  1. First leg live this evening on BT Sport, always wanted to tick Boca off my bucket list. Anyone ever been or experienced other fierce derbies?
  2. Katarina been on the atkins? Looks half the women she did previously.
  3. Any streams?
  4. Burnley playing with a very high intensity, both in and out of possession. They're constantly looking to overload us in the final third, once the ball goes wide. We seem to hold our defensive line on the edge of the area well but regularly lose track of a Burnley player who peels off and receives just outside the penalty area. Saint's just aren't affective playing 3-4-2-1 in any phases, the wing backs just aren't an effective outlet, once we recover the ball, Cedric and Bertrand stay wide but deep, allowing Burnley to recover shape whilst the switch happens. Also very susceptible to the counter (mainly down to personel that the shape) and the diagonal between the outside centre backs and full backs. Won't be long until the central gaps open and they will be breaking our lines.

    Danny Ings

Unfortunately, stature was an old assessment criteria at the academy - predominately for technically weak players too. It's a lazy release term.
  6. Yep, I like him was always prepared to take one in the bollock for that. Player needs to be coached but I really liked what I saw for Holland and Eredividse before the Spurs move.
  7. Rondon & Vincent Janssen available at £15m each. Happily have one of them.
  8. Rondon & Vincent Janssen available at £15m each. Happily have one of them.
  9. We have been concerned but we’ve also highlighted to clubs that the talent is there, we’re world and European champions!
  10. Those of you that watched, what did you make of Mason Mount. Some staff at The FA rate him as the best footballing talent we’ve had for a decade.
  11. Rondon at £13m would be a snip. What's happened to the Alcacer link? It's gone very quiet.
  12. Good post. Wasn't sure why we gave Rose a new deal, assume he's impressed despite originally being a 'stop gap'. Assume the new PL international tournament, PL 2 and Checkatrade Trophy will allow a number of opportunities.
  13. Napoli sniffing around. No idea how serious the interest is.
  14. It was, however some clubs who originally believed they could operate at that level have since withdrawn their application.
  15. I haven't directly other than a cup of coffee on a table of ten! Lot's of colleagues at work have worked with and under her through the women's pathway. Superb coach (just graduated from Pro Licence). Incredibly influential figure in the women's game, potentially opens up a lot of doors for Saints in terms of player/staff recruitment but mainly development of our own. We've got some incredibly talented staff in the women's programme already at Saints. This will have all the clubs paying attention to Saints - despite not having a licence *yet.
  16. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-07-16/announcement-marieanne-spacey-cale-head-of-girls-and-women-southampton Massive appointment from Saints, Marieanne has been a huge 'cog' in the machine that has been progress of womens/girls football in England. Might also help with the club achieving a professional licence.

    Danny Ings

Adam Blackmore implying it's not true on twitter.
  18. Agree, never understood the hype with Ings.
  19. It's happening. Pretty much from the horses mouth and his trainer.
  20. Some from the inside believe it coincides with working with Dave Watson.
  21. Or the UEFA qualified goalkeeping coach, working in professional football. Helmet.
  22. Not harsh to blame FF for the second goal. What is incredibly frustrating is its professionally and publicly renowned that FF footwork needs alot of work (openly criticised for the lack of power stepping) and yet Dave Watson has not done anything to support this.
  23. Moses Odubajo - currently on trial* with Celtic after his contract with Hull finished. I really liked what I saw of him in the PL with Hull, then he had that horrible ACL injury that took him out for a year. Returned in the Championship season and had another injury. With Pied moving on, decent back up option on a low contract.
  24. Ridiculously highly rated by FA/England set up.
  25. & what exactly does it tell you?
