You'll have to wear a hi-vi Community Service jacket at SMS for a while of course.

It's a bad joke isn't it. If neither Le Tiss or Lynam will divulge exactly what the FL want that was unacceptable to 'their backers' they can't be surprised if we draw our own conclusions ie there were no problems with the FL just with the backers.

The traditional ways are the best imho:

After the revelations of the last week or so, I'm quite glad they didn't pull it off. They didn't seem exactly cash rich, although we don't know who they were intending to borrow the money from - can you imagine the future of the club in their hands? Also as 'Property Consultants' I wonder whether the real interest was the football club or the various freehold properties?
-
£300 sounds about right. They need to make the price the same for renewals AND for new Season Ticket purchases though. We have a big stadium to try and fill and it wouldn't be a very clever idea to penalise new and lapsed customers who we badly need.

A bit slow there GM sorry. Hope you're joking and that your apology wasn't made under duress.

Nope definitely don't understand your point here GM.

Why Fry could make the Swiss could walk away
The Rover replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Fair point Duncan but it's just Fry doing his hard man posturing to the media isn't it? Good for his image and all that - especially as it must have been severely dented by his apparent gullibility over the source of Pinnacle's funds. If the Swiss are the only deal in town and they offer more than he is likely to get in a fire sale of the assets, he has no choice but to accept what they offer. He might think he's all powerful but at the end of the day he's just a mere number cruncher who has to accept the best offer available. -
Joking apart you said what needed saying. I showed it to Mrs Rover - she always thought I was a foul mouthed ex-chemist. Now she knows I'm not so bad, as the profession goes.

There you are - a warning of the dangers of hard liquor to the impressionable young lads like saint stevo on here. One shandy and a nice gentle old man becomes a raving, tantrum throwing fascist. I think you should send him a membership form to your little organization, mole. How's the headache this morning GM?
-
I know we are all preoccupied with the future of the club but I would like to spare a thought for the staff working at the club who have not been paid today. I'm sure everyone on here would want to express their support and sympathy for the situation you find yourselves in. I hope that Mark Fry can ensure that you get your salary payments soon.
-
What a poetic turn of phrase you have Ponty. Presumably this really does put the club in jeopardy unless Fry has another exclusive lined up with £500K. Last month he was fairly sure that the wages could be paid albeit late (Dyer's transfer fee etc). If there is nothing lined up this month surely he will have to fold the club.

That made me smile Mr Beast. Well done

If MLT wasn't linked to Pinnacle what would you think now?
The Rover replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
Why are you bringing Rupert into this osm? After all no-one else has even mentioned him. -
If MLT wasn't linked to Pinnacle what would you think now?
The Rover replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
According to Pinnacle. Elsewhere it has been suggested that Leon Crouch paid it - if so that does nothing to support the credibility of Pinnacle or the enthusiasm of their backer. -

I am becoming increasingly sceptical about this whole set up. I still can see no good reason for the principle not to come forward as asked by GM and FF in previous threads. I agree with jonah's post above - all good points. Also if the delay is all down to minor legal points and a slight misunderstanding with the FL: 1. Why is Fry slating the latter for abusing their power (when TL is suggesting a softly softly approach)? and 2. Why is Fry talking to other interested parties again (Swiss, Middle East etc)? I would suggest that Fry has no confidence in the ability of Pinnacle to complete the deal and is therefore looking elsewhere. -
I hope you're right but I don't really buy it. Lots of bigger clubs have been bought by very wealthy people without the need for this eleventh hour secrecy. Hope I'm wrong but like good old GM, I'm beginning to smell a rat and it isn't MJ in this instance.

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=13969 Dan Help Me Rhonda Williams? Perhaps the person exists but the funds don't, especially as there is a rumour that Crouch put up the 'exclusivity' money.

This worries me too. What possible reason could there be for Mr Big to remain a mystery man UNLESS he's someone who will either split the fanbase, be unpopular or not exist? The longer this goes on the more sceptical I feel. I also think it's scandalous that Worthing Council threatened to prosecute the lady for putting up posters asking for info about her missing Siamese. What is the world coming to?

Not true - he speaks for many of us, myself included. :) HTH

Surely the last Chairman we has wasn't particularly big was he? Can't say I see GM as a guru but I do have some respect for his judgement in these matters. He was one of the first to 'out' Dan Williams. I hope you're wrong GM but 'Que sera sera' as the prophet Doris once sang. There ain't a lot we can do about it.
-
Perhaps he's the mystery investor?

I may have meant name.

Then you'll be the last to know the anme of our new owner.

Well as the man said, life is but a walking shadow....
