  1. Personally I think the Administrator should make a point of updating alpine_saint of his activities on a daily basis. I appreciate that Mr Fry has a difficult enough task as it is and that most of his discussions are confidential in the interests of getting a buyer for the club and saving Saints from extinction but surely he realises that this counts for nothing if alpine_saint is not kept fully informed of his progress.
  2. I appreciated your caution Steve but isn't this option intended to go into action ONLY if the are NO other potential buyers. I don't understand your logic here.
  3. Yes - IF as has been said, Barclays had bounced some Saints cheques under the Lowe regime, How is it possible that we are continuing to trade unless Barclays have given a facility to the Administrator (knowing that they will get some money back when a deal is done)?
  4. I think if you stood in the payers car park as they leave today you might realise why some of us think this whole begging bowl thing is a little distasteful.
  5. Good post GM. I'm not convinced that any more is needed to get us to the end of the season. Mr Fry hasn't suggested that we do. If Barclays want their money back, let them fund the club until a buyer is found. Let some of the overpaid wanabees on the pitch wait for their pay. I can't believe that we won't have new owners very shortly who may or may not care about the fans. If none of the consortia come up with the funds we're going to be stuffed anyway. The club is not a charity and I'm not planning on donating any of my holiday savings.
  6. Yes pretty much what I was thinking, although I imagine the penalty could be quite severe if we defaulted on our fixtures but then again we still don't really know how dire the finances are.
  7. I do find this a bit strange Duncan. I respect your views and think I understand your point but are you really saying that the people you are in contact with are being frightened away by a few loud mouthed idiots who will soon be shown the door by Mr Fry anyway? It's just that if they haven't got the stomach for a few spats over prawn sandwiches how are they going to deal with the intelligentsia of the City in the Itchen corner shouting at them in the Directors box when we're losing?
  8. Yes if we can get away from tabloid simple mindedness it probably would help. I do think that it would help if we were told whether or not extra revenue is actually needed to see us through the season though. Crouch seems to be saying one thing and Fry another. I would hate to think that those donations end up in Barclays' coffers.
  9. Just as Administration was pretty much a foregone conclusion as soon as Lowe kicked off the Dutch Revolution, it was always clear that SLH would go to the highest bidder whatever their motives. I think many of us were worried that there would actually be too few bidders and that Lowe and/or Wilde would gain control again on the cheap. At least with several interested parties (35 is a joke of course), SLH will go to a group with real money. There's no guarantee that they would have the football club's interests at heart but they would have to be extremely bullish speculators to put a great deal of value in anything else that the group owns. Jacksons Farm seems many years away from any chance of gaining planning permission for development and of course the housing and industrial market are in slump now anyway. I should think any potential investor looking at this type of site would be able to find something with a far more certain return over a shorter period elsewhere. There are no guarantees but I think on balance that having large number of interested parties is a positive thing for the future of the football club.
  10. And that would be your solution to our problem starting from now I suppose? Mind you sending you back in a time machine isn't such a bad idea.
  11. Isn't it amazing that a group of people come together to try and raise money for the club in it's hour of need and there is still some complete idiot out there who wants to moan and criticise.
  12. I'v expressed my opinions of this very fine writer in an email to letters@sunday-times.co.uk I think he would make an excellent writer for The Sun.
  13. Has anyone else seen this crap in today's Sunday Times for Rod Liddle who I assume must be a Chelsea or Man U supporter? Cash-strapped Saints should go for broke http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/columnists/rod_liddle/article6036576.ece
  14. Good to read Saintlee posting again. I would say that of all the vanished posters and admins on this site he is the most missed over recent months. He always tried to update us on what was happening (much as Fitzhugh Fella does) and with no cynicism, sarcasm or one upmanship. Perhaps Plastic Saints is the place to go for reasoned discussion nowadays.
  15. We are the English Ajax....or should that be Vim?
  16. Not true - Mary Corbett scotched that story herself. Her father bought it for the club, but they paid him for it later.
  17. Well he was a long term opponent on Forever Saints where he is / was Admin. Not only did he ban me but he rewrote my posts to make it look like I agreed with him! So on second thoughts perhaps you could adapt his posts and ban him for life.
  18. Thanks for that Ponty - a lot of his views are the complete opposite of mine but his post are interesting and I would think widely appreciated. It seems a pity to ban him at the current time. Can the forum be flexible enough to rescind it?
  19. Talking of which, does anyone know why "Stanley" aka SF76 has been banned? His long held view that the club could only rebuild after Administration and hopefully the exit of Lowe and Wilde seems pretty accurate to me.
  20. Can you explan Schrödinger's equation while you're about it Stanley? I think it allows you to predict how close Saints are to winning a game at any moment in time.
  21. Wouldn't put our chances at any better than 25%. Wotte is better than Poorto but stil not inspiring. He claimed that it took us 45 minutes plus to get our tactics / team right for playing on a crap pitch. As Dave Merrington said, the club have people to check these things out BEFORE the game.
  22. English version: Exactly - I can't believe people are taking this "I am Mike Wilde, the man of the people" bullsh1t seriously yet again. I'm afraid I did go for it first time, like many thinking any devil was better than Lowe and I was wrong. Exactly how many times does Mike intend to 'give us back our club'?
  23. Exactly - I can't people are taking this "I am Mike Wilde, the man of the people" bull**** seriously yet again. I'm afraid I did go for it first time, like many thinking any devil was better than Lowe and I was wrong. Exactly how many time does Mike intend to 'give us back our club'?
  24. Except the club will have two of it's own people on the selection committee as well as the 4 people THEY choose.
  25. It's going to be like a Vichy Government installed by the occupying forces. Anyone taking part should automatically become a "usual suspect". I'm not currently a Trust member but surely it was set up to do precisely what this latest cynical PR scheme of Wilde's is supposed to achieve. Shouldn't be too harsh on him I suppose, after all he did give us our club back. BTW does anyone know which user name he's using this week?
