Still taking the old hallucinogenics then TT?
-
I bet he is. About the only good thing to come out of the impending administration will be him and Lowe getting their just desserts. I feel sorry for Crouch though.
-
So now Lowe says we couldn't afford Pearson!!!!!!!!
The Rover replied to um pahars's topic in The Saints
I see Sky Sports News have been running interviews with Lawrie and Richard Chorley every hour this afternoon. They probably won't make any difference to the situation but at least they are getting across the message that we don't want Lowe here. -
I agree and I think Lowe's complete over-reaction in trying to make Richard's act comparable with that of someone throwing coins at players is despicable. As I tend to take RC's side on this I am going to do the only decent thing and ban myself from buying any more tickets at St Mary's until Lowe had driven the club into administration. I expect to be back later in the season.

Only trouble is you lost a large number of quality posters when you went pay per post. That's my lot for the day.
-
http://foreversaints.1talk.net/index.htm The site is still there but I don't think there is an Admin there, so unless you already have a registered user name you can't post. Perhaps The Farmer can look into it???
-
This seems about right to me. I can't bear any more false dawns. BTW - Any chance of bringing Forever Saints out of it's current Admin-less stupour to encourage a more widespread discussion on the club's future?
-
Do me a favour please alpine and start a new thread asking for a poll, open to all, Lowe/Poortvliet in or out? Being a cheapskate I can't start a new thread. As nobody goes to http://foreversaints.1talk.net/index.htm anymore we need a poll on here imo. It should be pretty unanimous tonight.
-
Rather than look for apologists, many of who will now have seen the light, perhaps it's time we united to get rid of the incompetents running our club before it's not too late. It would be good to see a poll on sites like this and TUI regarding the future direction of the club followed by editorial in large type reporting the result. With a bit of luck the Echo and local radio would pick up on it and we could get some momentum going. I would also suggest that if there is a poll on this site it is open to all to vote so that there is the greatest possible cross section of supporters views cast.

Administration is the ONLY way to break this downward spiral
The Rover replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
I just saw "Forum Shut Down For Essential Maintenance" flash in front of my eyes. If it does go down tonight of all nights, I for one will wonder who is running this forum -
More to the point do we get a manager who know's what he's doing here?
-
Maybe - but it used to have a history of uncensored comments regarding the clubs management. Before TSF existed many disillusioned Saints Forever posters (including the current admins, Weston and Up Pahars used to post there.) Perhaps it's time to resurrect it. I'm not involved in it but it's free to register and just maybe we can make the club listen to us.... http://foreversaints.1talk.net/forever-saints-f1/

A good place to protest? http://foreversaints.1talk.net/forever-saints-f1/

Half way through the season........its going to get worse I fear!!!
The Rover replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
Unfortunately I think exit's post is spot on. I suspect we'll have trouble selling enough players in Jan to avoid administration even before relegation. I hope I'm wrong too. -
Do we have to have a second half?
-
At least we haven't panicked and put 2 up front. I think we need volunteers to drive Poorto, Lowe and Wilde one way to Holland.
-
Completely agree. I should think tonight's televised performance will be worth another 1,000 off our home gates. I reckon Administration will come before relegation.
-
So did Porto actually say anything worth hearing or is this all a mountain out of a molehill?
-
So does anyone know how Jan actually answered the question on finances and keeping players? I certainly don't share Weston's optimism about keeping Surman and Lallana. If you heard the Solent interview with Lowe he clearly avoided a direct answer to the question of keeping the pair. He very definitely didn't say they would be staying which would have been the easy reply if true. My opinion is that we're in such financial sh*t, particularly with our ongoing lower than projected attendances, that the bank will force us to sell anyone who we receive half decent offers for, even if it does greatly increase the likelihood of relegation.
-
Not all bad then...
-
You jest BUT.... did you hear the good Lord comparing himself with Charles Atlas in his Solent interview with Alan Partridge / Roger Johnson? He is the man holding the club together...erm :smt102

Have to say I agree with UP's assessment above. Lowe is certainly not doing anything to bring unity to the club. If he can't be civil to other shareholders, what chance is there of unifying the fanbase. His dig at fans in the AGM report won't have won him too many friends either imo. I certainly wouldn't advocate a return of Crouch to the Board but neither do I think this club is going anywhere with Lowe or Wilde as significant shareholders either. At least Crouch has said he'd be willing to give his shares away to the right new investor. Hell will freeze over before Lowe and Wilde do the same imo.
-
“I would give away all my shares to the right person. I don’t care about the money, all I care about is the future of this great club." I thought this was the most promising part of his article. All credit to the man he's been no more successful at running the club than Wilder or Lowe but if they shared his willingness to sacrifice his investment for the good of the club, there is a far better chance that Southampton FC might become great again.
-
I agree that we are in a relegation battle and I didn't go to the last match of the season with a great feeling of anticipation but you'd have had to be a pretty miserable sod not to have got carried away by the euphoria at the end of the match. I would suggest that anyone who couldn't enjoy that doesn't appreciate what live football is all about.

Oh, my picture's been replaced...... by a train

The picture wasn't of Ted Bates.
