Lol - I think you took my post out of context. If Micky's horse bolts up at 18/1, I'll pay for Keegen to come back as manager...
-
I have a fecking good feeling about today. Mick Channon's horse will bolt up for me while I sit in the sunshine in Berkshire - backed last night at 18/1. MLT will be announced the new Chairman. King Kev will come back to his spiritual home as Manager. And on my winnings I shall buy STs for the whole family... Oh yes, bring it on!!!!!

What's Phil Tuffnel got to do with the bid?
-
Oh why did you have to say that FFS...
-
That's how I feel.

Ok, but the implication was (as you no doubt know) that he simply walks away all the time. He might well have resigned from all his jobs (and let's face it, he probably knew he'd done all he could), but in all bar one case (forgetting the fiasco at the current Newcastle) it would be extremely disingenuous to suggest that he hasn't done a fantastic job. People slag Keegan off along the lines that his teams only play attacking football and concede goals left right and centre, which is evidentially untrue. And they also claim he can't hack the pressure - which is also patently untrue. You don't achieve four promotions if you can't handle pressure. He was an idiot to take on the England job. He found the fans against him and as a proud patriot who wears his heart on his sleeve he gave them what they wanted. I cannot conceive that any Southampton fan would not want this man involved with the club, but each to their own.

Ahh, glaciation! My favourite. Eskers, drumlins, corries... what I don't remember!
-
He resigned after achieving promotion. He walked out on one job. His management record is what: Newcastle - promoted and highest ever Premiership position? Tighter defence than Champions United. Win ratio 55% Fulham - promoted. Win ratio 62% Taking Fulham into the Premiership - that's Fulham, check where they were before. City - promoted. Win ratio 44% And England... where he 'failed'. Keegan gets slated for wearing his heart on his sleeve. Oh for a fraction of the success he's had as a manager!
-
Christ, when will people stop blaming the bloody symptom... I abhor what people did by boycotting and depriving my club of the oxygen of money. But even so, not a single fan failed to hold onto WGS (how's his hips btw?) and not a single fan appointed the cheapest management team in the football league with all the experience of coco the clown... As for the three managers in a season debacle that led us down this path... Surely, surely, however, all this is water under the Itchen and we can now at last be united in the cause of saving our club and believing in the future??? Fans avoid poor football, that's life.
-
I don't even know who he manages....
-
Stop making stuff up. He walked away from one job - England because the fans turned on him. He walked away from Newcastle because Ashley is a moron. I think we can all see he was right!
-
Keegan's Newcastle conceded four goals fewer than Manchester United in the 95/96 season. FACT Please ensure everyone knows this. The myth about his managerial career being based on high-scoring games blighted by poor defending is based on ONE televised game at Anfield.
-
Just go to Wikipedia, it's available free on the net, and check how many games he has won wherever he's been manager. Apart from with England his record is exceptional. We can only dream of a manager with Keegan's record. No chance. Take Newcastle - who achieved their highest ever league finish? People who believe the media cobblers about Keegan and his 'failure' never cease to amaze me. All the information is freely available to all the world. On results, he is one of the country's top managers. When football is played in the Daily Mirror and the Sun I will start to listen to them, until then I think I'll trust the wins and promotions...

When can we celebrate reaching zero points?
Legod Third Coming replied to kpturner's topic in The Saints
We will never be on zero points. After four games we will be on 2 points. Simples. -
I'd be happy with a few successful weeks after the last five years...!!!!

what happens if Pinacle/MLT retain Wotte as manager

Wotte in the running for a job in Egypt
Legod Third Coming replied to Saint Martini's topic in The Saints
No shocker considering what a fecking pig's ear he made of the whole season. We won three games, on a roll, what does he do? Employs the tactics of the Italian army combined with the vision of Stevie Wonder. Good riddance. -
Wotte in the running for a job in Egypt

It said could. It meant did. He could have prevented it, he didn't. That's the difference between fact and opinion. -
Apart from SWF which website do you visit most fequently?

90% of the world are happy to have a job and scared of losing what income they have and this bunch of communist c u n t s hold the capital to ransome. Bob Crowe, how's you chaffeur driven motor and half million pound house you mafia moron?
-
I cannot bear the idea that you plan for the minimum possible. No offence to you Pilchards, I am sure this is not what you meant. But hundreds of teams have won leagues by losing ten games or more. Our only handicap is that three wins and one draw count for nothing. That's all. We don't have a hand tied behind our back, one boot removed, no goalkeeper, fewer players or any other genuine disadvantage. Now, either we can play for survival and be relegated miserably if we miss out, or we can step up to the plate, recognise that we are still a MASSIVE club in this league and stamp our authority on the pitch and the opposition. Not to trot out old lines, but hell's bells if we do aim for the moon, there's a bloody good chance we could easily land in the play-offs at worst. Success is about mentality. It's about hunger, desire and the overwhelming belief in the ability and capability of oneself and one's team members. A half-decent manager could make a good team of the players we will have left. What's required now is pace - firstly off and then on the park, singular focus (likewise on and off the pitch) and a first-rate plan to engage the fans and fill the bloody ground to capacity at £10 a head for the season. BRING IT ON!!!!

Wotte's job offer, Surman bid, Rasiak to go cheaply
Legod Third Coming replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Pearson kept us up. For that he deserves the thanks and gratitude of every Saints fan. Not difficult is it? He might also have gone on to be as effective and succesful with us over a whole season as he has been at Leicester. What the hell is your problem with a bloke who did his best for us and it happened to be good enough? -
I would like Liverpool to go bust. I have nothing against them - in fact quite the reverse - but this is the only way football will change. Having said which, there are hundreds of FTSE companies and those owned by venture capitalists especially which are in EXACTLY the same position with all of their expansion financed by debt. Whoever said debt is essential for economic prosperity is nuts. Actually, income is essential for economic prosperity. In the old days Lord Weinstock ran GEC with millions in the bank - a cash rich company. It used to be common for companies to actually be regularly in profit and have cash. Extraordinary isn't it. These days of course, to grow you have to be in debt knowing that you'll never need to pay it back, just get more and more into debt and simply move it around. It will kill us all you know.

Legod Third Coming replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
I made no mention of Person. Although there is one vital difference. Pearson kept us up, which is all that was asked of him. Wotte failed. The only reason to keep Wotte is if the alternative is yet another even worse Dutch coach with even less experience, But we won't have another owner with that little intellect will we?
