  1. Agreed - a good balance in the squad, but with a really good manager and we have every chance of over-turning -10 - it just means that three games you could have lost have to be won! For me, though, the key is to get the right manager and leave him alone to get on with the job within whatever constraints the financial situation dictates.
  2. I think people see three things: 1. Honesty and straight talking. 2. A genuine interest in achieving a satisfactory result. 3. An apparent commitment to the fanbase. And these things - after our recent history - are extremely appealing. Let's face it - he's managed to get four more offers of investment than Rupert!
  3. Is what I think you meant...
  4. That's the kind of fecking defeatist attitude from Lowe that landed us in this sh!t!!!! For God's sake man - have some BALLS and AMBITION
  5. You just hit the nail on the head with regards to the problems of football finance. There simply is no way to make a profit - other than to buy low and sell high. If you want investors that will be their plan; buy it, grow it, sell it. But long term will it ever pay back it's ultimate owners? NO!!!
  6. Yeah, can someone clarify this EXACTLY - otherwise we will be whacked with another points deduction!!! So what is the requirement?
  7. You do have to accept that in many, many cases the exisiting management is part of the buyout and the Administrator will listen to their offers seriously because they know the business better than anyone. Just because a management screwed the business up once, does not mean they are necessarily bad people or could not rectify their mistakes. Fry's duty is to the creditors not the customers, unfortunately... However, I cannot see that any buyer would want Lowe involved - and that's what we must focus on.
  8. Number Lock then Alt 130 é - et voila...
  9. I disagree. Look at the players who were at Leicester and got them relegated, and the difference this season - admittedly with some new additions. We have good players - Gillet, Holmes, Davis, Perry, Saejis, Surman, James... They have been DIABOLICALLY mismanaged. They have also had concerns from day 1 of the season about: The ineptitude of the board Their wages (the financial position) The coaching The manager... Anyone who has studied motivation even fleetingly (Maslow's heirarchy of needs, for example) knows that you need factors in place to do a good job - the knowledge that you will get paid, the ability to have your talent recognised, belief in the direction of the organisation and so on. A lot of our players would look completely different under some decent leadership on and off the pitch!!!! If they are capable of it against Burnley - they are capable full stop. Beyond that it's about MANAGEMENT - a drum I make no apology for banging for years...
  10. Why are we not using this to our advantage? I trust, for example, you have given them the inside story on whom we don't want to return to the club...
  11. For news - read The FT For sport - read http://www.sportlinglife.com For fun - read The Sun For suicidal fears of jonny foreigner - read The Daily Mail If your reading age is 7 - try The Express To appear intellectual but really just want the Tories back - The Telegraph If you have limited space on the train - The Times And if you want to cosy up to Gordon and aren't clever enough to read the Grauniad - The Mirror I have never tried the Independent for fear it marks me out in public as someone with no opinion on anything... Personally, I only ever read one paper - The Racing Post (although I miss The Sportling Life)!
  12. Then your wife would never tire of telling people how she married beneath herself... My missus is a Leeds fan. I thought she would be dirty... big mistake...
  13. You and a Leeds fan naked doesn't bear thinking about either old son... (I hope they don't go up as I like a nice trip out to the Yorskhire dales to see the family and friends...)
  14. I can't believe it will happen but it would be a massive fillip to the club and all the fans if he did. He has been sensational this year and is the one bloke in the team whose desire and commitment cannot be faulted.
  15. Ah - found a link, excellent article I thought.
  16. Splendid article by Robert Kitson on why our demise should be a wake up call for the Premiership. Don't normally do leftie papers but found it in the company kitchen and well worth a read. Might even be worth buying so long as they don't still prop up union funds, etc...
  17. Agreed. There was precious little barking before the dogs arrived.
  18. Lot of rewriting history and some total boll0x on here. I was in the Northam/Kingsland corner - home at last... People were chanting 'on the pitch' from about 80-odd mins. Then the police dogs came out. Then anyone with half a brain wandered around to the Kingsland from the Northam - mainly past me on row P - thus spoiling my enjoyment... Then they went on the pitch through the stewards and dogs. Then I left to contemplate life at minus 10... The dogs did not incite anyone to go on the pitch. Just as cliffs don't incite people to jump and bullets don't incite people to fire guns... Now, onto Archduke Ferdinand and Sarajevo for the 16 yr olds who have missed history GCSE while in police custody...
  19. We're in League One and looking at a minimum minus ten points and people are arguing over why we dropped out of the Premiership...
  20. Yep, as Scummer said, the club were whacked for 'irregular payments' - something about payments to agents which didn't go through the club's books. Let's hope the South American deals are all above board - I'm sure they are...
  21. And if there has been some dodgy dealing, like Luton WE will get whacked with another points deduction. Marvellous...
  22. The people involved are fecking idiots who need to grow up. If they want a fight, arrange it beforehand and have it somewhere miles from the ground like it used to be done. I don't condone violence but we just have some mongs who think that because the police have dogs it justifies violence. It's pathetic mate. You cannot defend it. It is absolutely pathetic. If you want a fight, go have one. The rest of us came for a football match and have grown out of all that nonsense, if we were ever moronic enough to be involved. It ain't the eighties any more yet we have Danny Dyer juniors who would cr4p themselves at the first sign of a real punch up...
  23. Every club sadly has its share of chav pr!cks. And sadly, in a recession they proliferate. Time we started mass sterilisation, long overdue if you ask me. Nothing wrong with standing and shouting and singing, or even going on the pitch. But chucking stuff at other fans - ooo so hard from behind a police cordon. Fecking idiots.
