  1. I still feel that most of the players can/could do a job for us. Euell always puts in a shift but he's not a striker. McG has palyed well 'in the hole',. Surman is not a left back...etc. The truth is players need MANAGEMENT and we ain't had good management for too long! Look at Spurs (ok forget yesterday's game - nice one Howard Webb) - under Ramos, hopeless, under saggychops, European form. Players are rarely bad on purpose...
  2. Precisely what I have just said to my brother. The penalty was a total joke - the player should be Tom Daley's new partner!
  3. Correct, especially when a thump of it is thoeretical, since it exists as property, shares, bonds, etc. none of which you would want to be selling this week...
  4. Indeed we are. Approximately 6'1" and 14 stone.
  5. Which is in fact pants - Captain Pants.
  6. Would be the first team since 1982 a terrific team had been assembled in Southampton...
  7. I hear Salz is a big shot lawyer. So would he/could he take on the league and win over the points docking???
  8. KK would stick around long enough I agree with your second bit 110%.
  9. Then, with all due respect, you need a brain transplant. Keegan is one of the most succesful post-war football managers. Check out his win ratio and also the fact he has overseen promotion for Manchester City, Newcastle and Fulham - more than once. No manager can match his promotion record.
  10. True, but I'm guessing/hoping that both the major creditors would prefer to see the business continue with their involvement and a greater chance of being repaid in full than a cut and run job. But as you say, depends on how many deals are on the table.
  11. I think the creditors would want a say Phil. And unless they are well and truly mental they would not want to go through the whole thing again in 12 months...
  12. And we DO NEEED a NEW manager. Yesterday we saw what a difference motivation can make to a team. OK, so we still missed chances - that's a little bit about confidence and a lot about training and in the inherent quality of our players. But motivation is about management. It should not take a league deduction or facing the impossible for a team to be motivated. It should be about approaching every game with the same positive intent and hunger to win. I hate to mention his name, but that's exactly what a certain young English manager instilled in his Leicester side this season. Wotte was part of the busted flush. His tactics have been questionable and when he finally hit on a solution (three wins in three games), he then set about changing the team, formation and tactics to ensure that it was a false dawn... No, he has to go simple.
  13. That's whay the bank and administrator would not countenance a return. There would be no income from any ticket sales...
  14. Where's he going to live, the Kingsland Northan corner???
  15. Mmmm, only 'fit and proper' extends to just what's been pinned on someone... where their finance comes from, how many people have suffered in its generation and what the likely outcome of the total unbalance resulting from the use of that finance in the market for players is irrelevant to them though... I wouldn't say they were c's, but they are weak, myopic and remote from the reality of life for provincial clubs who were forced/encouraged to invest in Premiership infrastructure and then deprived of Premiership income. In short, they would be happiest if every club was owned by some rich foreign owner... now that doesn't present a long-term issue does it...
  16. He won't come back, relax. The bank and administrators have had their fill of dealing with idiots.
  17. What, my GP???
  18. How come Gillet was playing when he was supposedly out for the whole season? I said ages ago the players we have really missed were him and Holmes (and Spiderman although lately he looks lost).
  19. Actually that was in poor taste, I have all my extremities, although one of them is seized up from under-use (17 years of marriage...)
  20. Seeing as they cut my hands off and I use my feet, not really relevant is it?
  21. Think DMG is getting some unfair flack here. He looks lazy sure, but it was his ball that cut the Burnley defence in two only for BWP to feck up the chance, and he was instrumental in pushing the ball across midfield. I thought he had a good game.
  22. Sums it up for me - as well as your game review. I actually bloody enjoyed that game today. With a bit better defending (and settled defence), playing that side today we could have finished comfortably mid-table and with crowds of 20-25k watching us win more regularly. Of course the two one-on-ones should have been scored (BWP and Gillet) and how some of our other efforts missed (Lallana) is beyond me. But fundamentally, a really good game there. Good to watch and entertaining throughout. What a pity it's all too late...
  23. Five years ago I had an infection. Serious infection. The surgeon told me he would have to cut out not just the infection but also, quite deeply around it too in order to ensure that what was left was beautiful fresh, clean tissue. Cheerio Mark, thanks for nowt.
