Which clubs aren't? Rangers, Pompey and Plymouth?
-
We will have to SPEND BIG to win the league. We don't have to be the BIGGEST. It doesn't have to happen now. It will HAVE to happen. Couldn't be much simpler, could it?
-
I don't. Money will win the league. Hence my point.
-
That's one way of going about it. I didn't seen Arsenal break the transfer record? Come to think of it, when did Man U last break any record? And how did Citeh fair last season or the one before that? I've now doubt Cortese is a bit sharper then most of us and knows only too well what's required. Whether he has a plan for what's required, time will tell...
-
I think some of our fans must have had lobotomies...
-
Exactly. You'd have to be blind not to see the AMBITION.
-
Rome wasn't built in a day.
-
It suggests he understands the magnitude of the task and what's required to challenge for success.
-
Agreed. He hasn't said he wouldn't. In fact he's said quite the reverse.
-
I was throwing out a few in my recent known memory. I'm not a fecking almanac.
-
I like Cortese. If you aim for the stars you might not get there but you don't come up with a handfull of dirt either... I just hope he is genuinely prepared to pay what it costs. But then he has said he could see us paying players £200k a week...

Unexpected clubs have won all sorts already. Greece. Denmark. Blackburn. Wimbledon. Southampton.

Yep I cannot fathom the animosity towards Claridge. He might be a touch pikey and have played for them, but his analysis is 90% spot on. He's been critical when we've deerved it and complimentary when we've deserved it. Perhaps it's the legacy of Lowe's catering that has left so many chips on Saints fans' shoulders...

My mum (who you would know Petersfield Saint ) sold him his current house when she worked in Humberts on Lavant Street! And I once used him on a job to host a Suzuki Dealer Quiz Final at Ettington Park, in the Midlands. I was stood outside the hotel waiting and he buzzed into the car park in this new Focus, leapt out and handed me the keys! Cheeky fecker asked me to park his car and I was paying him!!!!! That said, how can you dislike a bloke who drives fast motors, lives near Petersfield and supports that best club on earth!

I'm not as cynical as some on here, thank the Lord! When we were at our best last season - anyone remember scoring after 26 passes?!! - we played exactly the way Spain played. We are breeding footballers who are happy in possession of the football and long may it continue. English football has been shown up over the past four weeks as being well behind the best in Europe. Everything you hear from our Chairman and others at the club says we are modelling ourselves on Barcelona - and I couldn't be happier with that. Footballers who love the ball, who give it to one another and who always make options and opportunities is great to watch. Bring it on.

Truth is, the club have probably done their homework and this kit/colour will be far more popular to buyers in the far east... (red is a VERY lucky colour) The shame is that so many young fans are seeing this club on the up for the first time and will now associate it with red. Whatever you say about the design (and in truth I quite like it), could you see Manchester Citeh now playing in light-blue and white stripes, or Manchester United playing in red and white stripes? Or even QPR playing in blue and white quarters... One-off kits (our centeneray and Arsenal's awful blackcurrant) have a place, but to sacrifice the core of the brand is a risk. It might pay off. It might not.
-
Do roads consist of black and yellow stripes then?
-
I've been working my nuts off for a week and come back to find I support Liverpool. 25 years ago that might have been a result.
-
No but he did pull off the best save I have ever seen live.
-
But is it as prevalent in those sports? I've been watching this ultra motion coverage of the football and at the very top level it just seems to be all the time. It isn't practical to call every single incident, true. But is that because we've been too lenient... Rugby refs seem to do a great job of better policing the game...
-
I also agree with this. I am stunned at the professional cheating at all levels of football now. Shirt pulling, nudges in the back, dragging feet across an opponent's leg... Can you name one other sport where cheating is ignored?
-
I'm at the other end of the scale. When a sportsman has worked their whole life to achieve something and fails not through their own inability but the incompetence of an official, I hate it. I can't think of a single sport that hasn't been improved by technology.

What is crazy (Diamond) is that for what it cost to do that monstrosity, you could have had really nice lettering done...
