  1. well, he certainly wasn't " Saints fit " when he arrived, but if we play him thoughout January, then we get a better idea of his potential value to the club ...before the end of the window . I think KD's remaining games can be numbered, but I'm still not happy about Gazzaniga's immediate future as an alternative Prem. keeper....not yet anyway. Who would you play in goal ...when we go to Old Trafford ?
  2. It's probably fair to say that Lampard is " at the peak of his career " ( however, we interpret that) ...and so one of the foreign clubs will pay him silly money to play for a year or two......but after that I suppose he will be a soccer millionaire like his Uncle 'arry, and it depends just how much he " loves the game " and wants to get managers' ulcers.
  3. TNX.Kraken. These posts to Turkish get a bit frenetic at times - don't they?
  4. is .....U21 striker Sam Hoskins who will spend the rest of the season on loan with L1 Stevenage (according to SSN). Sam is still only 19 and has previously been out on short term loan to Preston and Rotherham. He scored 9 times in 12 games for the U21 Development side in the Autumn and looks to be a good prospect. Hopefully the loan-out will be productive for him and hopefully he'll get some proper senior football ....even if it is at L1.
  5. ......but we haven't had any wins or even draws against top sides .have we Turkish?...(unless you want to count one point at Stoke)...and they've only played in 8 league games together. . So...How can you reason that we are better when Lallana and /or Ramirez aren't playing together in the same match? ...as you see from the stats. on #106.. 11 of our points have come from those 8 games when they both played... whereas we managed only 7 points from the other 12 fixtures..when only ONE of them was there.
  6. "top class " He obvioulsly isn't talking about quality of their Academy, Players, Creditabilty or " Credit rating" . Nor ground facilities or attendances....something about ego, maybe?
  7. NEITHER.....you play the in-form players until /unless there are suspensions or injuries......or loss of form. He should learn to sit on the bench until his time comes..(like everyone else).
  8. isn't everything? ....why, if you listen to Nigel Adkins, he sounds just like the manager of a Premier League club....
  9. I think a quick look at results will show that (unless I'm mistaken) we have been reasonably successful in only the EIGHT League games where they've played together. Played 8...W3 D2 L3 Villa 4-1, Everton 1-3, WBA 0-2, Swansea 1-1 QPR 3-1, Newcastle 2-0, Norwich 1-1 and Liverpool 0-1....(in all the other fixtures one or other has been unavailable.) When we consider our current league record is...Played 20...W4 D6 L10 it does seem that their "partnership " has been reasonably fruitful, and we've done less well in the other 12 fixtures when one has been out.
  10. Aha !!!!!! now I see what you mean, and you may even be correct in your reasoning, but I can't see NA leaving one of them on the bench every other week - can you ? ....and especially not the team captain...so we have the £12 million guy on the bench instead....is that it ?
  11. * for a start it's NA who chooses the team not me, and if the stats. are to be believed..he isn't anywhere near being " a regular " either, and as you pointed out yourself his contract goes out in 2014. (by which time he will be 32½...ish.) I don't forsee any chance of him getting an extension to that contract - do you?. He is however, some sort of a physical threat when played and despite not having scored is one of the few players we have with height and muscle when we play teams like West Ham and Stoke. I will return to the "Guly subject" when he scores next time ..whichever year that is (?).......especially as we're supposed to be discussing Adam Lallana on this thread. ** thank you for the honour, btw but I noticed I wasn't on the New Year's Honours list this time either...so I'm still plain... " Mr."
  12. agree with the idea in principle, but does that mean we should buy players who are as good / better than our present team (when all fit )...and if so who do you think we should drop in favour of a new signing ?
  13. Despite the reams of complaints about NAs tactical skill / lack of it ....I'd say he put out a good side yesterday ....considering that Clyne and Lallana were still unavailable. ...Also for not putting KC through the nightmare of remembering his visit to the Emirates.... and finally giving Boruc a chance.
  14. OK I did. So you're suggesting that we shouldn't look to pick pick BOTH Lallana AND Ramirez in every game?....or ....? is there something else I missed from an earlier post ?...... or ? I'm only looking for a single sentence answer. Please
  15. THX ...but I think you must have diff. stats to me. My comment on the few subs. was referring to last season. After he scored his last goal (Jan 2012) he played in only 9 games... came on as 2nd or 3rd sub. 6 times.... and didn't even make the bench in 4 other games. This season ...as far as I can see... Guly has started League games only 5 times, and has been 2nd and even 3rd sub. on only 7 occasions.... (I haven't counted the minutes, but once was in 89th min.) He been an unused sub 4 times ...and wasn't even selected for the bench on at least 4 other occasions...(or maybe I'm wrong but I wrote my original post based on memory).
  16. but I didn't see your answer Turkish. I'm interested to hear your viewpoint. Would you agree with (a) (b) © or.......some do you have another suggestion?. You asked if we were a better side without Lallana...? you've praised his qualities (and some others)...and talked tactics, but you must have your own opinion, surely?....or are you undecided?
  17. ....and for the rest of january. If he's going to be any real use for us (other than cover) then we need to see him in key games....with the FA Cup game on Saturday..didn't they win it last season?...and then Villa game; Everton and Man.U. That's a good balance of the key games. If he fouls up every week, then he's not a good choice....and can move on at the end of the season, but we must make a choice... and get it right before Feb. 1st. ...but KD is nearing the end of the road....and Gazzaniga isn't the "real thing " yet ..though he has some skill, he lacks confidence and real match practice that won't cost us points every game.
  18. that's what people said about Gorkyss (?) last season when he didn't sign for Saints.....whatever happened to him btw?
  19. What do these people have for mindset?.- Sell Lambert...or Shaw? Mirror /Sun " hacks" who think we will bow down in obedience to the "so-called big clubs" (already steeped in big debts), who think they can do a deal by waving a million or two in our direction. I suppose It's understandable if it's some amateur journo, but if that's really Big Sam's thinking, then he's more daft than I thought.
  20. What was there to call about, when the ball is coming at you at 60- 70 mph ? you can do that from a corner, when the ball is travelling a bit slower.....otherwise you go ..or you don't .
  21. There might have been some lack of fitness when he first arrived, but the guy is 1' 95 m. tall (6'4") ..you don't expect him to look like a slim line model - do you ?
  22. Mmm. so you wouldn't give Jack Cork a chance against his old club, then ? He doesn't have to prove anything to me, but I think he'd have something to prove for himself....and show the Chelsea hierarchy..'
