[) at least we've got lots of possession Millwall 37% Saints 63% after 15 mins.
-
you're probably right Patrik. Gordon Strachan said that he used to give the chairman (the unmentionable RL) a list of his targets, and leave it to him to agree terms with the club / and the player. One of the reasons why Saints didn't sign Drogba. Apparantly RL thought he had an " attitude " :smt081 ... I'd like to buy someone with an attitude right now if he turned out like that.

Saga is back in Poland, apparantly.

according to a Coventry fansite...there was an " issue " between Coleman and Ward - hence they would have been glad to see him "go" - but of course he didn't. he was more popular with fans rthan the manager.

Zenith Data Systems Cup/Full Members Cup on Wiki

Whats boring in talkng about Saints ? That final was at Wembley, 29.03.92 Saints lost 2-3 to Notts Forest. team was; Flowers, Kenna, Benali, Horne, Ruddock, Le Tissier ****erill, Shearer, Dowie and Hurlock. Scorers: Le Tissier and Moore. (the match looked like a re-run of the 1979-80 League Cup Final, when we lost 2-3 to ..Notts Forest.! ) All this on page 301 of ...In that Number ..and much more. Duncan ( Fitzhugh Fella ) says there are still a few unsold copies available. At this rate I might need to buy a new copy myself...great reading for historians. -
thats a bit harsh...considering that he started with -10 points, and every other manager on 0. There are a lot of L1 managers who won't get sacked because they didn't get to the play-offs ..but did successfully avoid relegation .

Merrington -if you are reading, please, please...

Very few people are "made for radio" . I worked with Hospital Radio in So'ton in the 1970's and believe me the number of people who wanted to present progs. who thought they were God's gift to the radio world - would fill a football stadium - well, a small one anyway. Commentating on football isn't like reading the news, and very few people in the football world are university graduates. Having some enthusiasm for the subject is most important, and as far as criticising Merrington, I've heard worse than him standing up in the House of Commons and rabbiting on about - nothing in particular.:smt015 TBH - I'd prefer Merrington or Jimmy Case anytime...at least they played the game..compared to some of the Solent presenters over the last few years. -

In another visionary move, the bookies will start to take money on how long(or short) time he survives. -

Thats nice - isn't it ? Whatever anyone wants to say to make fun of his accent and comments .. he is without doubt THE FINEST youth team coach this club has EVER had. 1984-1995 . Le Tissier, Shearer, Maddison, The Wallaces, Moran. and a whole string of other less memorable names, many of whom were good enough to make a league career (somewhere else) - when they could get into our star-studded Div.1 sides of that era. Good on ya, Dave M. He's no John Motson - but my goodness he knew how to coach young players. -

Sounds like they are managing quite well, so far. Many clubs have portraits painted of their former managers/chairmen. QPR 's trophy cabinet is nearly full with the heads of their former staff. -

as you say it's not the same time scale. the first 5 you mentioned were over a period of 7 years, after which the next 7 in 5 years. The QPR chairman has dumped 9 ...since Aug 2007, so give the guy credit for a great effort, and a job well-done. Now he has to complete the second part of the competition..namely try to get QPR relegated by May. Good Luck Sir! -
BE PATIENT ..it's only Friday lunchtime! Mind you I am a bit worried, as we haven't signed ANYONE AT ALL in the last 24 hours ! lack of commitment Pardew out !
-
after all our managerial changes under the previous chairmanship of " that fellow whose name we don't mention "..it seems that one of his enviable records has been broken. PAUL HART, one-time manager of "that other club we don't mention" has been sacked from QPR ...after only 5 games. (1win) Seriously challenging the record of Brian Cloughs 44 days at Leeds, and Paul Sturrocks short stay at Saints. Hart was the NINTH, I say again.. 9th. manager since their chairman took over in 2007. It puts a whole new meaning to the title .." Manager of the month," I think. Congratulations to QPR on another record-breaking achievement, and one we are only too pleased to relinquish.
-
.a very profound observation that, no-one else has gone into print on that. For goodness sake, that's why we made the guy manager ...to hear mind-blowing statements like that ..what vision, what courage.. a knighthood is in order.:smt081

Sorry mate, I was out shopping with the wife this morning !
-
Obviously, not a type to be trusted, Nick.:smt015 I really thought this thread was dead by now. Ward isn't coming at thats the end of it. All I'm waiting for now is the film of the book.." WhyWard did not sign.... and other unsolved mysteries together with the Dallas shooting, area 51 and the false moon-landing. Looking at one of the CC fan sites it seems some of their fans aren't too bothered about it and even want Ward to stay. Even hint of "an issue " between Ward and Coleman " and that Coleman wants to see the back of him.
-
I don't like to be the bearer of bad tidings, but if you read through that clubs history you see that they won the FA Cup in May 1939 (and were undefeated holders of the cup for 5 years - sorry - old pub quiz question - that one). .... and... of course they beat Cardiff in 2008. They also won the (old Div.1) League Title in 1948/49.. None of which helps them in their present predicament, and they only have themselves to blame..anyone who lets their club be managed by Harry Redknapp (TWICE) is asking for trouble!
-
I guess thats about right .. as long as you don't count in things like FA Cup wins, and League Championship titles!
-
Well thats one saving grace, then...but I suppose the other two are 'though ?
-
Actually thats a little bit funny....a song by Max Bygraves, I think:confused: mm..on second thoughts maybe it wasn't so funny !
-
The prev. JPS ties had; Trotman, Perry and Thomas and (+1 game with Jaidi) as central defenders. With Trotman gone, Jaidi still injured and new guys cup-tied ..who will we have at the back for the two MK games ? ........and an eventual final ?
-
more importantly ..has Skacel signed yet ..? ](*,)
-
........and there's still 16 days left to the transfer deadline ...whoopee

it's gonna be at the Potters Heron, and a certain Mr. ****** has booked in under a false name, so just wait and see...
