I'm not an idiot, thanks. -
Half of Pompey's record attendance were probably Saints fans! We all know that fans used to go to both Saints and Pompey home games whilst one was playing away.

That's f*cked.

North Korea are alright- let's get one of them. Their right back is dealing with Ronaldo pretty well. -
Response from club re: Installment Plans
for_heaven's_Saint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Taking all of this into account, the way to annoy Cortese is surely not to 'cherry-pick' the games you go to, but to buy a season ticket, as this is exactly what he doesn't want you to do! Let's sell 20,000 season tickets- that'll teach him. -
Yes you are.

My predictions have us playing Mexico in the quarters. Could be a challenge.

I did my GCSEs about 4 years ago and to be honest was never really that stretched by them and got all 'A's. However, unless you are trying to get a job in a shop or fast food restaurant, no one actually bothers to look at your GCSE grades any more anyway. They're basically just a way of getting into college.
-
I suppose we might be able to squeeze him into the team!!
-
That'd be an awful thing to say! I f*cking hate them, but I'm willing to bet big money that the 'pork, pork' brigade have already bought them.
-
If we're making sure we have at least two equally competent players in each position (think Harding and Dickson) then we should have no problem playing equally competent teams in all competitions IMO.
-
The club have made two mistakes: 1.Take away the installment plan in order to disuade people from buying one because they think they can make more money on single game ticket sales. 2. Lie about it and more or less insult fans by blaming 'administrative fees'. IMO the second point is just as bad as the first. If they want to make more money out of us why not come out and say it? If they must insist on putting PR spin on everything why not make the point that if we want to buy better players we need more money?

London Saints
for_heaven's_Saint replied to for_heaven's_Saint's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
And by the way, anyone who lives in or around London can join up. By joining you become a member and can consequently just tell us when you want to go to a game and we will arrange your travel and tickets for you- at the cheapest possible price. You then just have to meet us at the train station and pay the money. By going through us you are not only a lot more likely to be able to get a ticket for the smaller grounds, but you also will not have to pay the new 'ticket tax', as we have someone who buys the tickets in person from the stadium. If you're interested, PM me or if you're not a full member, write back on here. -
Cortese is seriously deluded if he thinks that people who can't afford to pay for a season ticket all in one go are going to then pay separately and still go to every home game, which is what I think he thinks.

I have to say I'm inclined to agree with all of this.

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned but the 'remember me' function isn't working for me and I'm having to login every time I return to the site. Also, when I login the 'subscribe now' thing is there in place of the saints forum and I have to click on the 'forum' tab at the top before I can access the main board. Any ideas? -
I hate to p!ss on your miserable sash-hating parade, but the shirt in your avatar has a sash on the back, where as our kit does not.

Had Germany to score four or more goals at 7/1 the other day, but then wasted my money by stupidly betting on Italy to win.

Just a warning- The cuffs are really tight so if you like to roll your sleeves up you may have some difficulty!

One of the blokes on 606, who works for the BBC, describes him as 'the Gareth Bale of League One'. Let's hope so! -

As other have suggested, success on the pitch and the value of the club are 'inextricably linked' (remember that phrase?!). Similarly, if the supporters -in essence the customers- are not happy, they are not putting money into the club, and therefore the club doesn't have such a great value. Therefore if Markus simply saw us as a way of making money - which I would neither be surprised or particularly disappointed with- I would not be too worried, as it is vital that the team keep performing and the supporters keep coming to the game and spending money on the club for its value to rise. I'm not sure whether the bit about legal action is a hint at something, but if it is that would certainly be slightly worrying as it would perhaps suggest there is something being hidden from us. However, as long as the team on the pitch continues to progress, I'm more than happy to know Markus is probably looking to make a profit eventually, as we would undoubtedly be left in a better position when he left than when he bought us. I do think it is good that we are asking these kind of questions though, providing we keep it 'hypothetical' and do not cause unnecessary rifts between fans and the club. I'd much rather we made enquiries and were cautious in our enjoyment of Markus' money than end up deep in the sh!t like the rabble down the road.
