They’ll be parked in the middle of the pitch, defending their box and trying to have no gaps between their defence and midfield. We need to use as much width as we can and Leo on the wing is key to that. Besides, have you forgotten how playing him in the middle went at Watford?

Poor choice of words! 😉

If we can delay it for a couple of years he probably won’t be our manager anymore anyway.

Cause he called Nuno a badly, allegedly.

Good to see him that far forward though and getting on the end of a ball in the 6 yard box. His goal will come soon enough I reckon.

Not going to be an option to buy if he does well then? Great!

I guess it could form a part of the bigger picture in terms of a player’s personality and attitude.

Maybe JWP put in a good word for him.

Not sure it does since Schlotterbeck plays on the other side. If (when) THB goes we are going to need to quickly replace him. I’d imagine us agreeing a deal for a replacement will now come into the decision of whether to accept Villa’s next bid.

The stream I was watching had the Millwall commentators and they were full of praise for how Schlotterbeck dealt with Coburn. Sounded like they had rarely seen anyone get the better of Coburn physically and thought Kevan had completely bullied and nullified him.

I’m all for signing JWP so long as he’s not the only Charles replacement. As many others have said, pace, power, athleticism and an ability to move the ball forward quickly are what we need.

Struggling to find out whether this is actually on Sky or not. Some places list it as being on Sky+ but I can’t see any mention of it on the actual Sky website. Anyone seen anything?

One’s used by villains, the other is about to be signed by the Villans.

I think the biggest thing we will miss about THB is his passing out from the back. Hard to get anyone as good as him at that at this level.

Try logging out and back in again- works sometimes. I had tickets in my basket- it then told me they had gone- but when I added two others, the original ones (which were better) were still there so I bought the first ones I had selected. No idea why that happened but hope they haven't double sold them!

Yeah. Solak actually paints it as quite a positive picture really, stating that once the loan is paid off this year we will be in a much healthier position (unless we go up and have to spend more money 😂)

"At the moment, we have to pay the loan that was taken during COVID and all of these things, and on top of that, we've had two relegations. "As much as everybody's praising parachute payments, believe me, it's a very expensive affair. I never saw one Pound of parachute payment in my life. "The loans you take while you are in the Premier League all have a clause. Once you are relegated, all parachute payments go to pay back the loans. "So, in all my life, I still haven't seen one Pound of parachute payment being used by us. So actually, parachute payments, I don't think of them. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/26173974.southampton-owner-solak-delivers-optimistic-update-club-finances/

We have to factor in City’s sell-on into what we will accept too.

Anyone know what his hold up play is like? That’s a pretty important part of Larin’s game and what we lack when he’s not playing.

If we didn’t have Goztepe to send him to then Rasmus Ankerson would probably still be making our transfer decisions.

He’s supposedly off to Sporting (according to Fabrizio Romano) so hopefully he won’t be involved.

IMO the main attribute we need in a new striker is presence. We need someone who can win the ball in the air, pin defenders and be a nuisance, like Larin. There’s no point getting someone who’s a great finisher if they’re built like Adam Armstrong or Archer. Unfortunately BBD and Downs have neither presence nor finishing ability.

It’s on sky so there’ll definitely be streams around.

True, but usually we have a shit load of outgoings of major players and the manager. Not the case this year so no need to panic.

We have this hysteria every year and every year most of the business is done towards the end of the window. For example last year we signed: Fellows, Azaz and Jander: 29th August Scienza: 1st September
