I really couldn’t believe how many of our fans joined in with that song today. Not only should we have the brains to work out that this is a racist song, but it’s even been called out by other clubs when their fans have sung it. Surely we are better than this?

Whoever we sign, we need to sign them in the first few days of January and they need to be good enough to come into the team immediately and improve us. If we don’t pick up points against Forest, Everton, Villa, Brentford and Wolves then we’ll be as good as down.

Our choice of midfielders without Lavia is terrible. An out-of-sorts JWP and either Diallo or AMN, who have both proven to be not good enough. JWP is going to have to start, preferably as the deeper lying midfielder. Then I’d rather we played Stu Armstong in there than Diallo or AMN.

Do we know when the players are back to Staplewood?

Really hope NJ can find a position that gets the best out of Stu Armstrong. Easily our best attacking midfielder on his day but really gone off the boil. Hope to see him start in a more attacking role today.

Not listening but Blackmore is hardly an impartial interviewer. You only have to listen to the spiel he gave at the beginning of the fan forum to realise he loves Ralph and the Saints board and will take their side on most issues. Tbh I think it’s unprofessional, particularly as he works for the BBC.

I think the fact that we didn’t go and splash the cash set aside for Gakpo on our second/third choice shows we will still only spend where we think is value, which is good. As such, I can’t see us paying over the odds for anyone, which is often the case in January.
