We’re not going to get £15m for Che when his contract is up in the summer. We’d be lucky to get a third of that and he may well be happy to wait until the summer to leave on a free and assess his options. We are also not going to be spending £30m, or anything near it, on one player. We’re in the Championship. Firstly, that amount of money is way too much for us, secondly why would a player worth that much choose to come to us and not the prem teams who are interested in him?

At least we have the distraction of lots of football in January, unlike the summer when it’s nothing but stupid rumours.

I think KWP is both the best right back and the best left back in the league. Whichever side he plays on, we completely dominate. Think RM got it right playing him left today, and Bree was solid on the right.

Best case scenario would be sell him in January and get a small amount for him before his contract is up. Reinvest any money (and saved wages) for someone who can help us in the second half of the season.

I always think with Djenepo that although he’s not a great player, at least he seems to invest a lot of his money back into his community in Mali. So the wages aren’t being completely squandered.

Before Chelsea, Selles takes about how the best teams have a core of 7/8 players that play all the time, usually through the spine of the team. I think we could do that and make a couple of tweaks. Would like to see: Bazunu KWP, ABK, Salisu, Perraud JWP Lavia Stu Sulemana Adams Onuachu Not sure if Sulemana is disciplined enough defensively but feel we’d offer more threat, especially on the counter, than if Moi is in there. If Moi needs to play just take our Adams and play same front 4 as Chelsea but with that defence.

Hmm, not what I would’ve selected by any stretch but let’s see what system they play and how they perform before we write Selles off completely. If we get to half time still in it, there’s scope to change it up.

Whoever we sign, we need to sign them in the first few days of January and they need to be good enough to come into the team immediately and improve us. If we don’t pick up points against Forest, Everton, Villa, Brentford and Wolves then we’ll be as good as down.

Our choice of midfielders without Lavia is terrible. An out-of-sorts JWP and either Diallo or AMN, who have both proven to be not good enough. JWP is going to have to start, preferably as the deeper lying midfielder. Then I’d rather we played Stu Armstong in there than Diallo or AMN.

Do we know when the players are back to Staplewood?

Really hope NJ can find a position that gets the best out of Stu Armstrong. Easily our best attacking midfielder on his day but really gone off the boil. Hope to see him start in a more attacking role today.
