Funniest Rumours of summer signings from days gone by
SamKimish replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
Here's the story behind the Adebayor signing. Wasn't a refusal by Lowe, rather a refused work permit. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/archive/2003/08/05/Hampshire+Archive/5589288.Lowe_hits_out_after_fresh_work_permit_woe/ -

Door to door double-glazing sales for Zenith Staysh!te. On my first day we did Hedge End and the Team Leader told us to target the bungalows at nightfall as they were generally owned by pensioners who would be asleep and if you woke them, they would be more likely to agree to double glazing. Was paid on commission but I had too good a conscience to actually ever make a sale. Left after one shift.

About the same as Ollie Lancash*te

I saw this, not sure whether he is playing for a new contract or just to stay fit but it should be interesting to see how he gets on.

So did one of Havant or Winchester though and we still took a youthful looking side to both of those games (minus Anthony Pulis ). I remember having two Saints squads playing games on the same day in previous years so I don't think that's the last friendly to be announced. I'm a tiny bit disappointed not to have scheduled a match against Premier League opposition for the Ted Bates Trophy but I still think matches against teams of our level (Reading, Sochaux, Thun etc.) are vital to our development.

Brilliant signing, well played Pardew.

Went to pick up some tickets for the Reading and Bournemouth games ... can confirm that they are red and white and not blue as feared. Phew ... that was close.
-
I heard something similar so I phoned a contact. Turns out it was just Prutton dressed as Lahm (I'll get my coat)
-
Just been signed by Coventry

The English transfer llist has been announced, if you could have your pick for Saints, who would you have? http://www.givemefootball.com/pfa-transfer-list? Ideally, I wouldn't mind Ballack, Joe Cole, Bouma, Gallas etc.

Good signing, will be interesting to see how Dickson AND Harding will fit in the team as I think they are both worthy of a starting XI place. Maybe Harding Left Midfield? He always looked good on the attack IMHO.

I don't just like it, I genuinely love it.
-
Apparently teams will have to pay a £3 fee should they look at fixtures online.

Can a mod please rename this thread A-Z of Anders Svensson?
-
Just to be slightly controversial, I don't really mind waiting.

Greece to score their first ever World Cup goal

Can a Mod move this to the World Cup forum please?

An official Fantasy Football league for the Saints forum
SamKimish replied to chrisobee's topic in General Sports
I set one up a few days back called "Where's Rickie?" Pin is: 390513-92618 I'm pretty sure you can enter more than one league. I prefer the FIFA one as it's free but still has prizes for weekly and overall winners. -

I've entered my Metro team into the free league but the other one won't accpet my card :-/ -
I didn't even notice the world cup forum :-/ Shows how unobservant I am ... Ohh well, I've joined the various Sky Sports and Metro leagues.
-
Well McDonalds and FIFA have teamed up again to run a FREE World Cup Fantasy Football that still has prizes for the top teams. I had a brief look around the forum and saw that no one had set up a SFC Supporter's League so I thought I would ... Just click here, set up an account an pick your team before Friday, then join the aptly named "Where's Lambert?" league named in honour of the legend that is, Sir Rickie. The code is 390513-92618 Good luck people ...

Too late for a last minute entry? Nothing special mind ...

I was wondering if I could buy half of it for less at Christmas?
