  1. OK Norm but you clearly don't realise that UP has been my resident stalker for months. How do I know? My infraction for past dismeanours against his good standing is due to expire in about 2 weeks. UP holds a grudge tighter than he does a Thai pavement after a night out on holiday allegedly. I did have him and few others on ignore but not being able to read their hissy fits and convulted ways of trashing my opinions no matter how reasonable kind of ruined the entertainment.
  2. What a hero, only Saints could have a self confessed under achiever as their legend. The more he talked the more I felt cheated that he had a lot more to give and the big sigh prior to the Pinnacle question being finished spoke volumes and he was lucky Mayo wasn't interested in pursuing it as any of us could have answered that question the way MLT did IMO. Good to know though he is still great friends with Lynam which IMO I found surprising. MLT admitted he never put the two words hard and work together. A trait that I guess he carried over into his bid to be chairman IMO. He then went on and said that he didn't like the thought of the 24/7 culture which begs the question why the endorse the bid in the first place? Judging by his comments we had a very lucky escape because if he had become chairman he has admitted they were only focussing on ex-saints for 'box office appeal' lol. I like Iain Dowie but really box office appeal and Keegan would have lasted half a season before the hissy fits started and Shearer is a law unto himself and no one rates himself more highly than Shearer himself - bit like a few glass housed posters on this forum. As for WGS....another Scotland manager in waiting and a manager who needs money and lots of it just to beat Rangers IMO. I thought MLT's assessment of his England career spoke volumes about why he didn't make it. He mentioned that under Ball the team were told to give him the ball at every opportunity and he was scoring 30 goals a season or thereabouts but at International level that wasn't the case, he didn't get the ball so much - doh! He countered if he had gone to a bigger club for international owners and only scored 15 goals why couldn't an England manager pick him at a smaller club scoring 30 goals. He isn't the sharpest is he? Playing at a bigger club as at international level he would see less of the ball but his game and fitness would have improved and his goals been harder earned. Sad contradiction and showed how unambitious he was even playing for us and clearly wasn't willing to up his effort with us or listen to his coaches. Perhaps England managers felt that with his role as the hub of the team he should be scoring even more or working a little harder . At the end of both interviews I felt that Matt Le Tissier had short changed us fans and more importantly himself and perhaps that's where the title of the book comes into it. Perhaps his epitaph should be 'Paul Telfer a decent player' but I ca't help thinking of the old Ian Drury song 'What a Waste' and left thinking how great he could have been as a player and the relief we must feel he is not chairman given his comments today.
  3. I think it was Mayo's fifth question and Le Tissier's sigh was far more audible than it should have been IMO even Mayo checked before proceeding.
  4. Looking forward to your next 2 thought provoking posts this evening. Try extending your post to another sentence and tell us all you know.
  5. I HAVE NEVER EVER INSULTED YOUR MOTHER DAREN. You have issues with me as I supported the club's stance regarding your request for a signed shirt and that I believed McMenemy was a like a cancer in club and operated to his own agenda and not the greater good IMO. Do you write to the media everytime you hear or read the word cancer used in it's other legitimate context? I challenge anybody to find my original posts where I allegedly insulted a woman terminally ill with cancer, you won't find it, just a son who decided to take it out on me because he didn't like the fact I thought the club took approproate action. My views and language with regard to McMenemy did not insult his mother any more than they insulted my wife who had just finished her chemeotherapy at the time. Time to justify your comments (Greenridge and anyone else please take note) and back them up with the undoctored facts or buy a cat.
  6. Well it isn't going to be about his role in Pinnacle and while he was still backing it until the 11th hour. Pity because he woudl be more interesting than another sychophantic and shameless self publicity of a book. Still makes a change I suppose it's not the author doing the plug! Don't suppose Mayo's first question will be - Well Matt I have read the book (blushes slighty) was it a concsious decision to be so lacking in any controversy? His second question - do you wish you had delayed publication so you could tell the fans the real story behind Pinnacle bid as to some observers you seemed with the benefit of hindsight to actually jeopardise the club's future as oppose to save it? Don't you think it would have made the book more worthy of purchase?
  7. Coincidence that Numpteen thinks £200,000 is in fact a very good wage in the UK and especially when MLT was strolling around in his pomp considering he was trading loyalty off against the potential for financial security. Is there not a reasonable person on the planet who does not think £200k is a reasonable salary. I am not alone in thinking football is in danger of eating itself to the point of implosion. Can't predict when the bubble will burst but it will and the football structure in this country will one day resemble the NFL and £200m will look a reasonable salary but at what cost? A very small number of super teams and no promotion or relegation and some poor second rate , amatuer clubs trying to keep teh leagues going. What's that got to do with MLT, absolutely nothing except he should have taken advantage like everyone else.
  8. Nice snippets - I think it's called padding.
  9. I actually view it as a strength but we shouldn't be concerned therefore that MLT did not maximse his earning potential as in life to do that you have to move around for those golden handshakes. Loyalty = comfort = quality of life = less pay as a general rule. Can also lead to complacency but we won't go there.
  10. Your mispelling of Pardew is probably the worse case of sausage fingers I have ever seen or maybe something altogether more sinister....
  11. Search my post history and tell me when I have tried to make a barbed comment about cancer or any other serious illness where it is known the poster concerned is having their life in one way or another affected by it. That is the problem with this forum people lose sight of reality and accuse posters of things of which they are not guilty. I am guilty of making cheap points as is everyone else but nearly all my insults are in reaction to others who are unnable to cope with my opinion go for the insult instead. Lets face it at the moment if i responded to all the abuse and lies written about me then I would have more posts than Nickh and any thread I posted on would defend into farce, which happens anyway because people can't live with an alternative view unless they label it trolling. Posters see my name come up and most immediately think, insult, ridicule or patronise and I have to sit here and take it? Don't think so. Don't forget to check my original posts for any barbed comment or insult about cancer, in the meantime look forward to your apology.
  12. Wes to be fair that is the first personal insult I have fired at you for a long time whilst you and Um have been dishing out to me regards your 'clever' innuenndo about the state of my health. Likewise you have no idea about my personal circumstances but choose to jump on the bandwagon with Um Pahars for whatever reason and not mention a few others. Both of you have been giving it out to me in spades so don't complain if you get a little flak back occassionaly. I haven't heard anything from the moderators but regardless of their actions and for the record please accept my apologies for that comment and any offence it may have caused as in hindsight it probably overstepped the mark regard good natured banter. Perhaps you can now accept that because I hold different opinions to yourself and post honestly based on how I see things that it does not make me a troll or give reason to ridicule the state of my health or personal situation. You reported one innuendo that caused you offence how many do I get levelled at me every day? For the record in the past month I have reported about 4 posts that were far more direct and damaging and you have been happy to play along with that. Would you have had the same resolve to resist the red triangle if you had been ridiculed and received damaging personal insults as I have? Hope you accept my apology in the nature it was intended and hope you tolerate my right to post without the personal attacks.
  13. Worse tbh and I can only assume when Pardew took off Mellis and kept Lallana on for the second half it was basically to give Lallana an extra length of rope. When he gets the ball all he can seem to do is run with it until he loses possession - can't seem to get his head up and put a decent ball in. Hopefully he enjoys golf!
  14. I thought we had as lallana was consistently running into walls on Saturday we just couldn't see them ourselves.
  15. Oh I'm sure there are ways especially if you make careful plans and god forbid socialise with the club's handicappers.
  16. No, have just never understood the fascination with the game and detest it's eliteism in this country at least. I did put a deal together once that was signed and sealed without the appropriate recognition (shall we say) to me because the client was a golfer and I wasn't so a 'colleague' with many phone calls to me helped them over the line. Perhaps that's it kpt? Blimey you need to change your profession or I may simply detest golf as I do reality TV and I live in a house where they love it. Thank god for football.
  17. Phil it is not a sport and it is only those who play golf believe that it is. Only in golf can a player completely delude himself by thinking he is the best player when he is given a head start so far ahead than the rest and then accept the trophy and not mention they won the competition because of the huge head start. If it was athletics I could beat Bolt slowing down myself if I had a 90 metre head start, even wearing some natty trousers. Golf is corrupt to it's core unless you believe that players don't deliberately manipulate their handicap so as to get a couple of strokes added to you 'handicap' before a big tournament. In other sports you just have to train very hard or have a couple of blood transfusions if you're a cyclist. I don't doubt golf is massive globally so is McDonalds and as the great Bill Shankley once said of Everton..If Monty was practising at the bottom of my garden I would draw the curtains. BTW what do they fill the bunkers with over there, Grass, British couples who really should invest in a room or the ashes of the 2002 World Cup Squad's campaign?
  18. OK so you are telling me golf is not that eliteist provided you are considered good enough 'to have a go' and wealthy enough to pay for the privilege but it is open to anyone. Your dad could have stayed just as fit walking to his local everyday or simply going for a 4 mile walk when he felt the need to drag a set of clubs around a course and continually bending down to inspect his lie and probably ending up looking like a well known Parisien bell ringer. Golf courses are destined to become God's waiting room especially as you stress about hit the ball 4 more times than you should have. Must be a bad day still could be worse you could have spent the day answering questions from a glorified bunch of 'band wagon questioners' about your valid decision to release a dying man guilty of mass murder - a heinious crime even though most on the flight were Americans. I can see why people get so irate about shooting over by 4. Do golfers shower after a round?
  19. ...and a little Daren poops out. Daren you can't seem to post without mentioning my name - I suppose I should be flattered.
  20. Quite, Um Pahars is now calling them unbiased to support his own arguments. Couldn't make it up.
  21. I have always felt that when we kick to the Northam second half we invariably lose. At this point Um Pahars will start preparing statistics to prove me wrong as he always does on all my posts. If we haven't heard anything in the next 24 hours we can assume my gut feeling is correct and we should continue to play as we do kicking to the Northam in the first half.
  22. Thanks Draganov and apologies I didn't see your thread as I was away at the time and not been back long. Seeing are lack of creativity and strength on the ball on Saturday it just set me thinking and pleased to here he is doing well - provided I am not bigging up one of our current players!
  23. I thought about it but was keeping that one up my sleeve. Do you think golf courses maybe attributable to the decline in the British bee population? Nothing for them to eat and a load of aimless swotting hardly conducive to developing our eco-system.
  24. Trotman had been watching too much of Wimbledon and just thought it was a great idea the ball boys kept chucking him another ball for his second service.
  25. No and you can call me nineteen.
