I can't answer that John simply because I'm staggered you feel you need to be told the answer.

2 degrees and that's the amount of your analysis. I thought the morale was lifted 100 fold when he left and Mr Liebherr took over whilst in between Pinnacle did their best to take us over the edge. How has a player's morale in the squad today been affected by Lowe - if anything it will be impacted by the fans with the same idotic views as your own or the nervousness and lack of preparation the lasting legacy of Pinnacle. Lowe really is history and once again when challenged you are reaching for straws.
-
Robbie I agree with you on Pardew as for your last reactionary rubbish shall we sell the following players who were all with us last season and poisoned by Lowe? Davis Perry Thomas Holmes James Gillett Schnederlin Lallana Paterson I'll give you Wotton but what about Pericard as a bad signing? Also, Saganowski and Rasiak are overpaid prima donnas and their attitude not worthy of the shirt IMO. Lets not forget we still have McLaggon to look forward to returning and the brief moments I saw him play he should have a field day in this league. Anti-Lowe rhetoric is somewhat less relevant than those legends and uber fans behind the Pinnacle bid. That bid more than anything else has affected our start of the season and clear out those poisoned by Lowe really is childish nonsense and in any event will take about 18 months to achieve.

Totally agree and its fairly clear why clubs like Derby, Leeds and Norwich can draw big crowds regardless of their performance or league and we only get near to capacity in big one off games or the Premiership. 27 years of top flight football has in a way ruined our fan base and its a pity many of those spoilt by at times our good fortune are so quick to knock or walk away instaed of showing some support and gratitude.

John the best tactics in the world isn't going to help Pardew in the short term make a slik purse out of a sow's ear. He needed the time to have a good look at his sqaud, play half a dozen friendlies and sort the wheat from the chaff. Not only that on a limited budget he is trying to find players the best of which have no doubt been cherry picked a long time ago. Poor players can make good tactics look poor and we know Pardew hasn't suddenly become a bad manager and perhaps at this stage we should assume the players aren't playing to their instructions. Lets face it if this blip happened mid season it would probably pass but for a few disgruntled murmurs and nothing more but because we have the 10 point deficit everyone are like cats on a hot tin roof and I expect so are the players. I think a show of faith in the club is needed not critiscism especially after 3 games it's a tad ridiculous and playing into the hands of fans like myself who largely blame the fickle nature of our fans for stripping the team of confidence and the club of funds. That certainly has been the case in the past 3 years and i was hoping the positive season ticket sales were a sign that your attitude and those like yours would be a thing of the past. Still I suppose you're right it has been 3 games after all.

Time to tell the real story of the mess

LOL and Trousers is looking for a seat cover with the alleged impression of Lowe's backside bulging with folding and the sacred feminine who kept telling us about their father. -

I think this reliance / hope on ML is a red herring and one the fans need to drop as it fosters the wrong expectations. IMO ML will only use profits the club generates for squad strenghthening and if your logic was correct he would surely have already given Pardew £5m to get who he wants as oppose to scratching around in the main for loans and freebies. The Liebherr empire was built on the concept of only spend what you earn and that loans are to be avoided as they are viewed as a gamble. I don't think ML will change from the concept just to bail the club out and it is critical the fans carry on supporting and don't walk away as some misguided / unconscious move to blackmail our owner to provide funds. -

Good post that just needs to tell those fans seemingly starting to lose the plot after 3 games where to channel their anger. Just hope I'm not taking le tiss by assuming they know where to start asking questions. -

Once again that is the whole crux of the issue. IF Phil's analysis is correct then all the uncertainity and disappointment is IMO down to the Pinnacle bid and ALL those involved and until everyone comes clean about their involvement seeing the likes of some of these people swan around as if nothing happened it's difficult to take, especially when the abuse has already started to fly at Pardew and presumably a back hander to those who appointed him. The club itself is in a good position, no debt, a clean slate and some impressive people on the board. Some of the fanbase though are an utter shambles and clearly expected us to cakewalk a league on -10pts and effectively no pre-season to shape and build a team like 23 of our opponents. Completely unrealistic and an example of heads in sand as you'll ever likely to find anywhere. -
I see the unrealistic expectations have been taken to another level once again after another dissappointing but not exactly surprising defeat. My fears from the OP on this thread about the fans reaction is bearing it's ugly fruit once again. We are playing catch up on our peers and Pardew is effectively only 2 weeks into a pre-season. Of course if they had been afforded the opportunity to start 6 weeks earlier..... Can we make sure our 'displeasure' is targetted at the right individuals and not the manager, team, board or new owners, its these people who need our unstinting support. Look how Bournemouth started last season but surged away eventually and I can't see our season be any different courtesy of the 'best intentions' of others. Shame on them and shame on you, all those who are on Pardew's back already.

Thank you Wes. Smug is a single word best defined by your post and as always you dissect every little detail of my incorrect use of the English language to avoid commenting on the point being made in a sad and deeply unwitting attempt to belittle the poster. Why on Why....Wes it may work on Points of View but not here. If were only all as worthy and diligent as you Wes our best intentions would all be as excellent as yours. Guided Missile has your card marked and long indentified the type of character you are and that you seem intent on consistently proving him right is not surprising.

OK but only because I think we are playing with the semantics.
-
I expect you're right - still passes the time Greenridge, don't you think?
-
My MO is to insult only those who chose to insult me simply because they don't agree with my views. Deeply personal insults? I could legitamately have a field day but chose not to preferring to take the opportunity to challenge IMO some deeply misheld concepts.

McMoneyme was the best nickname I have read and I am not very good at coming up with these so if I have used them I cannot take any credit for them. Boot Boy is a good one especially as he looked like the excess dubbin he used as a styling gel.
-
Nick, sorry I dont agree and especially with the term that I see used quite a lot 'best intentions'. The word best indictates a major effort or significant achievement etc. In sport if someone performs to the best of their ability then they have usually given it everything and done all they possibly can to cover all the angles e.g a personal best. Taking things solely at face value IMO MLT obviously intended to save the club but did he do his best? IMO the conclusion has to be no and given his own reputation was on the line not to mention the survival of the club I think the word best in this instance is inapproriate. It goes back to Weston's appraisal of MLT's playing career and the suggestion that a 'laziness' in his play probably held him back from sporting greatness away from Southampton. IMO his role in Pinnacle suggests to me some of that laziness crept into his decision to stake his reputation on the bid and his role thereafter.

Sorry! Bit busy in the bunker this morning. Call it friendly fire and failure on this occassion to identify the brick throwers.
-
Agreed - but nonetheless necessary to remind those who like to accuse me of things they dream about in their sleep although admittedly the masturbation thing was disturbing considering the Freudian connatations.
-
MOG major lol. On the Huddersfield prediction thread you agreed with my analysis that we would lose and said how much it distressed you to to admit. Windmill Arm2 called me an effing skate cvnt or words to that effect but not to any othert poster who agreed with me. In the interests of satire I merely copied and pasted Windmills reply into my reply to you. Thought you would have noticed that the writing style was somewhat different. If you took offence at that, I sincerely apologise but it was genuinely meant to be funny that one poster calls me a f s c for predicting defeat and the rest who agreed with me could have said we will get beat 6-0 and not a murmur.
-
Ironic you didn't get the irony, on the other hand perhaps not surprising.
-
How do you know? I only do it because you like watching.

FWIW I think it was McMenemy who I referred to as a cancer within the club as IMO he was allowed to work behind the scenes adding little or no value. Unfortunately, Crouch simply provided him with the body to feed off and peddle his own agneda which IMO was not in the best interests of the club. Don't wish to take this thread off topic as Corky would no doubt welcome on this occasion but I think it's important if you are going to accuse me of things I have said I make sure you you do it correctly. Now getting back in my bunker behind my extraordinarily large computer screen that provides me every opportunity to hide behind. Hard luck stories? I'm one of the lucky ones but still wish that a few titbits hadn't been posted on this forum and even more so that I hadn't reacted to it. Now go and give that big spot or your ar5e a good squeeze as eventually someone may see it and think it's a brain tumour.

What about Weston's assessment - seemed very fair to me?

That's what I keep telling myself. Now excuse me I just need to check these posts with my manager....
