  1. Agreed and Daren Wheeler shouldn't be making assumptions about my private life and posting them as fact. I do not suffer from bi-polar personality disorder and to suggest otherwise is libellous or slander at best.
  2. Just a tad patronising and I'm assuming you don't work for the Shropshire Tourist board.
  3. Should somebody give them prior warning to ensure all their exhibits are above critcism or conjecture? 8 year olds calling their neighbours abusive names? One day he may open his mouth and get a less friendly reception - still who am I to question what is appropriate behaviour for an 8 year old and when its appropriate to rejoice in the 'funny side' of their actions. Do the young ones in your family act in such stereotypical fashion and is this applied to any other minority groups?
  4. At least they have plenty of fingers on each hand to work out their revised budgets.
  5. Once again the usual lame and truly ignorant response to a fair comment. In this instance recognising that the demise of our arch rivals would ultimately diminish our own supporting experience. T
  6. Depends who is organising their legends charity game.
  7. what a pointless thread. A vehicle 4 the usual windbags to revel in the misfortune of others to avoid accepting the shortcomings of our recent history. I have no love at all for Pompey but our own existence would be all the poorer without the motivation to do better with them down the road and the desire to return to the old status quo . Perhaps we should at least recognise that their takeover bid has not been endorsed by one of their playing legends. Once again Daren and Wes are in the glass house being predictable.
  8. Judging by his comments it will be more like a pamphlet.
  9. You're right FF but until the funds start flowing in we don't have the money to purchase the players we need and feeding off the scraps like everyone else. Long term minus the debt and being self funded then of course that will hopefully put us in a healthy position but not as wealthy some fans believe we are. If those fans become disillusioned then whilst out future will remain safe our ambition may need to be lowered if that disilusion becomes reflected in the gates. IMO Mr Leibherr has made his investment and the rest is down to manager, players and fans alike and the old adage what you get out will reflect what you are prepared to put in. When I said poor I was suggesting that we don't have the millions that some feel we do because of Mr Leibherr's ownership and at the moment because of the delays in the takeover we are not even competing on a level playing field even disregrdaing the point deduction.
  10. Nigel Pearson probably drives a BMW and Michael Fialka drove an Audi A3! Is that more like it?
  11. I have not experienced this as usually they are careful so as to knock over their hunters or injure their labrador riding in the back. Johnny, you don't get irony do you, and no I didn't and neither did I feel the urge when I was an unmarried bloke to go on holiday to Thailand. Hamster, sorry your wrong. Smirking Saint, I am glad you enjoy reading my posts and it is reassuring to know they are reaching their target audience.
  12. Maybe once and not anymore. My recent foray if anything confirmed my worse fears and more and I think I got more pleasure walking away from the places than I had in the past driving out in a new car. Like you I didn't buy my tyres from the dealership despite their scare stories and I have used Micheldever Tyres since they traded out of a variety of sheds in a field impossible to find. That said plenty of people do buy from the dealer and seemed happy that tyres only lasted 10,000m and in my case apparently due to my spirited and sporty driving!!!! Probably do 90% of my mileage on motorways and lucky ever to reach the speed limit. I can understand why you buy one but for me I coudln't live with the image or the thought of the c*ck who drove it before me or the running costs. That said a brand new 5 series flashed me through tonight to pass a row of parked cars when he had right of way, I still feel a tad faint, still I note they respect greatness when they see it and no I won't tell you what I drive.
  13. FF I think your second paragraph explains what will shape our season more than anything else in the past, present or future. Not that it will serve any purpose but one day I hope we get to understand exactly what went on with all the people involved including those who the fans trusted the most. IMO it was a shameful and amatuerish embarassment regardless of how desperate the situation was at the time and even with my limited understanding it is very difficult to defend or excuse. Hopefully we can still consolidate in league 1 this season and the fans will be happy with that and remain patient.
  14. FWIW some of my coals are still glowing
  15. I think he did an unofficial half day last Saturday
  16. Would be if we weren't so use to it. Wasn't so long ago Tac-Tics would have been in the majority and yet at the moment we seem to be marching into a squad more depleted in skill and numbers than last year. Pinnacle and the hapless MLT must be partially to blame as if we are on a tight budget as it seems we have no doubt missed out on some decent 'bosman's' now snapped up by other clubs but that is not the club's fault or any of those now involved in taking us forward. I still maintain we are a poor club with a wealthy owner who will only allow what the club generates in profit to be spent on the team. IMO he will prop the club financially but will not spend personally or allow the club to borrow money to buy players in return for his underwriting of the club itself. So it comes down to the skill of Pardew and the pateince and support of us fans and an acceptances that League 1 football will be here for two seasons despite the Pardew rhetoric, otherwise why was he given a 3 year contract? Certainly, not to get in the Premiership in that time otherwise Oldknow would be looking for another manager next season.
  17. I've owned these cars and didn't like the attitude or image of those who drive them or sale/service them. When I drove them I felt different and on the road other drivers seemed more hostile towards me and perhaps I felt or was turning into the typical c*ck who drives these cars. When you are shelling out £800 for a set of tyres every 10,000 miles which they neglected to tell you about at the time of purchase not to mention the servicing costs and be asked to pay for insurance cover on a courtesy car hopefully you start to get the picture. The funny thing was in time I saw BMW (especially) masochists laugh and joke about a tyre bill of £3,600 over 2 years but although I love cars I'm just not that into tyres and didn't understand their acceptance. The attitude of the customer seemed to be compliant acceptance of the costs and the sales and servicing staff act like Estate Agents in a property boom compared to dealers of others marques. Audi's IMO are better cars and recently drove a BMW 320D Touring and its A4 equivalent. Everything about the Audi screamed classy and solid but so did Yves St laurent and Ralph Lauren before outlet centres and TK Maxx. The BMW was sluggish (not surprising) and poorly kitted out for the money and seemed a bit tinny and flimsey and the usual horrendous pedal postions for those of us who have feet like hobbit. I don't understand why people pay the premium other than it makes them feel better than anyone else, certainly why I use to aspire to the marque albeit I didn't admit so at the time. Dealer experience at Audi was shocking and unless you are selling at the absolute top end then you still need to have a modicum of respect for the bloke in front of you reluctant about whether he should splash his cash and talking about his alternatives. Then of course we have all the things I see on the road on a regular basis and the choice we have available and I suppose ultimately if BMW or Audi were the only cars made I would become a fitness fanatic in lurid lycra and take up cycling who currently come in as the 3rd biggest c*cks on our road today. So my point - BMW and Audi are not driiven by w*nkers but they create w*nkers but like Subaru Imprezza's and Porsches there are exceptions to the rule and like it or not these cars are like light bulbs on a dark porch to the self stroking moths who think they own the road because of the make of car they drive. There is hope for you yet Johnny and like me you just need to give your wallet a break and have a change of image and break your fixation with BMW and Audi. The latter are not good looking cars especially the christmas tree lights for headlights and everytime I see a Q7 I have an urge to slash, or slash on its tyres.
  18. Good for you , carry on.
  19. Maybe, the Durex was IMO the condom of choice but I wouldn't walk around in public wearing one. Have you walked into an Audi or BMW showroom recently? I can assure you the attitude of the sales staff mirrors the attitude of the driver/purchaser taking their shiny new car of the forecourt. Audi and BMW drivers have a lot in common with sperm. 1 in 50,000,000 will go on to be a human being.
  20. Don't
  21. That kind of proves my point. Some people would rather buy these lowly BMWs and the A3 or base A4 instead of buying vastly superior and cheaper cars unfortuantely not made by BMW or Audi. Why? Because they are aspirational and they try and drive them like they are M3's or RS4's. Anyway I think BMW's monopoly is waning slightly and the real c*cks are driving the A4's, A3's (Big time football club magnates) TT's, and Q7s. Meanwhile the only offensive thing about an A6 driver is that he believes the middle lane of motorways is reserved for those with their cruise control set to 70 and with a driving pose that makes you think rigor mortis has set in. For me the epitome of a BMW / Audi driver is the bloke who is married with 2.4 kids and a junior or middle manager not unlike Ricky Gervais in the Office only with less personality. They are in the office 12 hours a day not because they need to but because they feel they need to look busy and be able to boast about their hours. More importantly and having barely seen their wife and kids all week they leave the house very early on Saturday mornings for their round of golf and much guffawing with a load of other BMW /Audi who can barely remember each other's names. BMW and Audi drivers? Avoid - the A4 and 3 series are as about as fashionable as a Focus or Astra minus the practicality and reasonable running costs that won't convince you that you have entered some kind of bilateral agreement to repay the national debt of Belguim to keep your warranty valid.
  22. Show me an English car in production today. Something mass produced not knocked up in a shed in Blackpool or something similar.
  23. Really surprised this fella hasn't walked into the Leicester City team http://www.givemefootball.com/transfer-details?player=39386&playerID=5895
  24. Exactly! £400k signing on fee and 10k pw, 2 year contract thank you very much that's my pension topped up. Idiakez is another fine example. Anyone motivated by stupid money need not apply as they are just as liable to take the p1ss as they are to perform. The only good thing about Rudi Skacel is that I didn't run out of fingers counting the number of decent performances he put in for Saints whereas Gillett passed him in a few months. Its players of his type we need not the journeyman show ponies.
  25. Just didn't expect it to last for 3 seasons, he looked very low in the water last season. Hope our signings are better than Skacel.
