A family of four living in a house together all massive Saints fans and all largely of the same opinion and accessing the web through the same access point. Are they allowed their own username or hide behind one collective? Don't make any asumptions Hypo it's just a theoretical question.

My understanding was that while some posters like myself asked a reasonable question if the personalities recruited for the event would be paid or receive expenses and if so how much, one or two posted that they would receive expenses allegedly. The question's I asked were as relevant as questions currently being asked about the amount raised by Saints Aid and at the time how much the club had raised through charitable events and donations. My question did not imply anyone was claiming expenses or being paid an appearance fee but merely asked how much the event was costing to hold and the breakdown of those costs. Surely reasonable questions that the trustees of any charity would confirm prior to holidng an event to ensure revenue for the charity was maximised? If the thread was pulled then I am 100% confident it was not in regard to anything I had posted but comments from 1 or 2 others. To answer your question I suggest you contact Steve or Baj as I can only make assumptions for the reasons it was removed. If asking a question is libellous or causes offence then the likes of Jeremy Paxman could be in trouble and Crouch, Lowe and Wilde would be issuing claims like confetti IMO.

Daren, It's because you distort the reality and I have made none of your allegations but have posted opinions and supported the club in their stance with regard to their approach to your personal situation and bottom line you have not been able to accept that.

Why not respond to my original comment that people in glass houses should not really be throwing stones and the demise of Pompey would be detrimental to ourselves? Alternatively, ignore me but make libellous comments about me then I should have the right to respond.

Have a read of my original post on this thread (284) highlighting all the hot air and short memories of some of our posters seemingly enjoying Pompey's plight when we ourselves have barely finished licking our own wounds. What follows is simply posters refusing to accept I have a reasonable point and choosing to post libellous comments about my personal life to deflect the shortcomings in their own arguments. I know what happens when the roles are reversed and have been infracted accordingly although under a case of surprising coincidences that were not denied at the time by the alleged victim of my outburst. I'm confident that my reaction to certain individuals is neither crass nor cringeworthy and merely defending my corner with crying foul to the mods or calling for threads to be closed. Furthermore, there are no coincidences to hide behind in trying to justify some of the comments made about me. HTH

Really? Are you saying that moderators of this forum are sharing confidential information with you Hypo? In the world of dynamic IP addressing it must be difficult for anyone to identify if different usernames are being used by one individual.

I post under one name and was allowed to return under the amnesty afforded all previous posters when the site was revamped. Use the ignore functions Hypo and move on, nothing to see here other than a bloke who has a different view than you. Scary stuff.

Very reasonable and surprised it hasn't already been communicated. There are many questions that IMO still remain unanswered over the whole administration process and simply taking the 'oh well suppose we'll never know' stance is not an excuse to let it lie.

True enough but that doesn't discount the need to answer the question raised. In fact I would like to know how much the club collected in total from all the fund raising efforts less expenses. This amount should exclude any significant contributions with conditions attached as they would not represent charity in the true sense of the word.

I am not threatening anything just asking people to be careful where they draw the line with their insults. The cancer episode was simply a case of me understanding the stance the club took on that particular occassion. Nothing pathetic about it as I am able to draw on my own experiences in this regard and perhaps be a tad more honest in my self appraisal as to how I now treat raising money for chairty as oppose to my previous reaction of simply 'crossing the street'. Like many of us, when it comes to charity I was a classic aftertimer but others don't like to recognise that. It appears to me many would like me banned because they don't like my opionions or respond to the usual insults. Instead of bleating on to the moderators perhaps you should exercise your right to place me on your ignore list as I have as much right to post my views on this forum as anyone else provided I adhere to the rules and pay my subs.

Assumptions again Wes without research. The Judge may view my questioning posts as reasonable and the response that I usually receive justifies my 'provocative' replies. More likely it will be ruled that you join a forum and you pretty much deserve what you get in the petty tit for tat name calling but would you call where the line should be drawn when it becomes more than that? Having an opinion on the merits of your brother as a comedian is just that - an opinion. If I came on here and accused him of having a severe mental illness without any in depth knowledge of his personal life then that would be another thing entirely. Unfortunately, your brother is in the public eye and as an entertainer like footballers, politicians, etc he will be viewed differently by different people who will comment accordingly. Look at the stuff said about Lowe! Obviously, if I come on here and voice my opinion that I find Mike Osman grating and a poor comedian you get upset because he is your brother but to me its no different than voicing my preference for Claret over some mouthwash called Chianti. Its just my opinion to which we are all entitled as oppose to posting damaging lies.

Daren FYI recent test cases regarding libellous comments on Internet Forums have challenged if they can be construed as such as forums such as ours are closed to members and when you join you pretty much know what to expect. However, that doesn't necessarily give a consensus for a free for all. It's been attributed to have a discussion in a pub hence if a case was won it could still in theory be classed as slander. The truth is the law is unclear and if proven in favour of those bringing the case to court it could be won under Libel, Defamation or Slander and in the latter event the claimaint would have to prove damages. Anyway, I'm no expert but that is roughly my understanding. So whether you are saying I suffer from a bi polar disorder or merely repeating another poster's incorrect statement about my health that may have detrimental effects to me personally your threats and veiled attempt to run from your posts would be irrelevant.

One post I made in response to another that made the original accusation and thereafter other posters have decided to make it open season on my personal life in all these other threads. I'm not complaining but not happy with your implication that I am outlining my problems on these threads. Childish insults from the likes of the Gaffer and family, Daren and Wes are water off a ducks back and if I can be bothered I may respond but when comments are phrased as you have done and as the original post was phrased its more difficult to ignore. I'm far from a nasty piece of work to be perfectly honest and considering the amount that gets posted there is very little that gets my back up but when it does I feel I have a right to comment and challenge an individuals view which in some people's eyes makes me a skate, nasty, troll, etc, etc, etc. Reality is I am none of these things I simply don't agree with what is being said or the attitude or more usually fighting my own corner. If people don't like my posts just put me on their ignore list instead of hiding behind the usual playground bullies in an attempt to curry favour with them a la MiserableOldGit.

'Disability'? I was backed into a corner to admit I was suffering from an illness for which I am receiving treatment but I don't remember ever admitting or implying I had a disability so please be careful with how you phrase your posts ESB. If you want to take the moral high ground but pointing out the inequities of all my posts then go ahead but my post count could go through the roof if you join the ranks of the 'Holier than thou' brigade.
