Yeah, was going to look at a 70-300 or so but realised that I'd have to keep swapping to take family pics and then swap to take wildlife pics etc. So am going for a 35-200 or similar where I won't need to keep swapping! (currently have a 35-70 I think)

Where have you heard that then? Would be interested if you've got the accounts for SFC for last year to hand to prove that? Along with the business plan for the next x years. It may not look like we have prem money to spend but then again, a couple of years ago it looked like Poopey had the prem money ..

OK - to put this into easy understandable language - A £12M outlay over four years to get us to the premier league by appointing a top manager is small fry compared to the income associated with being in the top flight. MoN isn't in the prem league (to my knowledge at the moment) so may be attracted to take on a new challenge (the original discussion) But, again, it's not about the money, we're after someone with the passion to take us there and money isn't an inhibitor.

Think you'll find I'm not, I didn't come up with a £3m per year salary, DPS did. This came about from TDD saying that MoN wouldn't come here because we were a L1 club. I'm talking about getting a manager in who'll take us to the premier league and I don't care if we have to pay Prem League salaries as long as the person has the passion to get us there. If you pay peanuts you know what you'll get but on the other hand you have to make sure the person you get really *wants* the same outcome as the owner does. Or do you think you can't have passion and be rewarded for it?

Sorry, you're on a different plain. £12m to supply a premier league quality manager over the course of 4 years is small fry in running a football club when you're a billionaire as long as the revenue delivers against the investment.

And that's why we need someone with passion to take us to the PL and not just someone who's after the cash.

Huh ? what planet are you on? A salary of £3M for a prem manager to deliver your business plan in 4 years time is small fry with the money we have behind us and what revenue it'll earn (think of the photographic rights). I think you need to read 'the boy who cried wolf'

I'm going to back whomever is the new manager (apart from Redknapp). Very open minded about who's appointed and given the hype I'm hoping they are going to be at a similar par to AP or better so am looking forward to the rest of the season (but please, NC, get on with the announcement so we can stop 90% of the posts on #SWF now and I can get back to my day job)

Turkish - we have the money and the infrastructure and a four year plan. If I'm a prem. league manager and get offered that prem. league salary and backing to take a L1 club to the Prem in four years then I'd snap your hand off. Why wouldn't you? I'm assuming that the club doesn't have to disclose how much the manager is being paid? If the price is right ...
