Ahh yes it does in the Champ, because they take it seriously, look at QPR and Blackburn, they spent splenty trying and failing to escape the Champ and now they’re knackered

We can spend money if we want to, but the reality is from one reason or another we probably don’t want to, and its about flexibility around the FFP regs Im sure, if there was a target that suited us we’d go for it, but you need to be a bit careful as we’ve seen from Armstrong and Che (and probably Piroe) that the step up is big.. we need to sign a striker that can fire us into the Prem.. but when we get there we’ll likely need to replace them

I would imagine, as a couple on here have said time and time again.. it becomes more of an issue at the end of the season IF we don’t get promoted but our prudence will mean we won’t be as desperate

I think it probably depends on the rest of the trauma, I was quite ‘lucky’ that I didn’t damage any of the other structures in the knee tbh Shame for Stephens but the JS/JB partnership has never worked, JB + SC looked great yesterday and I expect we’ll now see JB + MH or even Wood which, imo is a better option overall

Not sure how much of a top target Archer is, but unfortunately regardless of whether we’re a better long term option the prem is always going to have an appeal McAtee is going to be a loan, so literally has no real risk for him Archer a bit more risk, but if he has any sense he’ll probably have negotiated some form of release

Perraud has wanted out since the end of last season, its why we bought Manning.. its just taken se time to shift him Shame about McAtee, but Im not hugely surprised he’s staying in the prem

I don’t disagree, just saying what I remember Generally debt isn’t seen as a huge issue to most wealth institutions, you shouldn’t be using available funds to clear debt, its a concept that makes little sense to most though

Wage bill makes more sense than spend in that sense, Downes, Holgate and Fraser will be on a decent wedge yet the ‘fee’ will probably be minimal I think the highest ever ‘spend’ in the champ was 45m or something and Villa finished 4th

One of the early fan forums it was said that they’re happy servicing the debt and its factored it, it got restructured early SR takeover but I think the repayment fee is high so they havn’t cleared it

I really don’t understand why everyone has a hard on for us spending money ? We overspent in January, and they’ve been universally bashed in that sense since January So far we’ve signed a guy thats put in a MOTM performance and 2 almost MOTM performances.. last years assist leading LB and 3 x prem quality additions I couldn’t give a fuck how much we spend as long as the players coming in are good enough, which it looks like they are

Who is a good player but has had 2 big injuries in the last 4 years There is as much noise around Daka, Iheanacho, Castagne, Gnonto and Sinestera as there is Che and KWP We are all Championship clubs, this is how it works down here, you can try to hold on but eventually if bigger clubs come in for your best and brightest there is only so much you can do, look back at every club thats ever been relegated and stop with the ‘why does this only happen to Saints’ bullshit.. it’s embarrassingly short sighted
