I think Russell is a very good coach that unfortunately is, at times too stubborn for his own good, he isn’t the first and won’t be the last… there’s a group of them atm… Martin, Kompany, Amorim… that seem to want to play there way regardless of the damage it does Im very grateful for what he did for us last season but, his reluctance to stray from his MO, even a little, and the club giving him more autonomy in the transfer market than he deserved put an early and somehow final nail in our coffin

From out Championship season ? Bednarek, Downes, KWP, both Armstrongs, Manning Arguments can be made for THB and theres not a lot of change between Meslier and Bazunu Sunmerville was exceptional, Rutter very good, Gruev very good, Kamara or Smallbone theres not a ton in it

Pretty much spot on for me… I always thought, as you say, pretending Stephens was the second coming of Beckenbauer and effectively disrupting what was, at the time one of the best back lines in the league almost cost us promotion and it was only really our quality overall that got us over the line Charles was nowhere near as bad as Russell made out, he literally just played more direct then he wanted
