Could always get Puncheon on a free ? He wont last long at Palace
-
Which would be undeestandable really. Im hoping for no more outgoings and a reasonable signing out wide (we were willing to dump 12m on townsend) any more would be a pleasing bonus
-
I agree I think its a case of 'we wont do business unless you do' in which case I hope its a firm no and move on from us. As far as poch is concerned, has he turned into a poor manager that did nothing for us now then ?
-
I can kick the ball in the other direction when looking forward... Does that count ? I dont always mean to btw
-
I still think we definately need two, ultimately Id be dissapointed if its Clasie, that sounds strange as he is a cracking player but ultimately he comes into a position we dont necessarily need another body. Id much rather look at grabbing a CB/RB cover (or just offer Cork a contract) and get someone out wide to help stretch games and provide some width/crossing ability for Pellé and long.

It could be worse, he coukd be his fellow dutch counterpart. Spending the best part of 200m on an injured LB, a very overpriced CM, a wide player for a formation that doesnt play conventional wingers yet deciding that Jones, Smalling and Evens are a good enough defence to challenge top four Im not going to start on playing young and mata etc as wingbacks As far as Koeman is concerned, his recruitment hasnt been too bad. Realistically it will always be difficult to convince players we were a good option as well as trying to be prudent(ish) for wages etc. outgoings have been poor but is that really Koemans fault ? Realistically Id of said we may have been able to go for the likes of Alderweireld etc should we not have sold our better players, selling the club to them right now must be difficult.

He is looking for options, Im pretty comfortable with the idea that Andros could perform better than he has shown in a Spurs shirt. Whether the price is large is redundant really, its pretty much the going rate for an englishman with an england cap. Id wholeheartedly agree however that if the discussion in any way involves Morgan (with the exception of saying he isnt for sale) then we are crazy. There are other teams out there who would take 12-15m for a reasonable winger

Ignore this, wrong end of the stick

This was the most frustrating criticism at the time, saying that poch was just a one tactic wonder. This viewpoint is so fundamentally flawed its rediculous. I cant name many teams that have extreme changes of tactics if things were not working. The only team that springs to mind immediately is Chelsea and realistically its more a change of personel than any real change of playing philosophy and poch never had that embarrassment of riches. His tactics were miles ahead of so many other coaches and Im sorry to say it but that imcludes Koeman. Thats not to say he isnt a good coach, nor that he wont do very well for us, its more an observation of what a wonderful coach poch was with his intricate attention to detail. Ive never witnessed a saints team that was so organised, fit and competetive in every game. Also, this easy to work out arguement... Was it ? How many clubs played us of the park ? Very few in reality, many of the losses were teams that managed to nick a goal. My main issue was the fact we took few shots, or did not create enough chances, something easily rectified at a team such as spurs that will have better options up top. I find it rediculous how players and managers are so devalued when they leave the club. The reality is that the team is not as weakened as we thought it could or would be. However it is weakened, Ive already spoken of Poch, but then you have Lallana - Named in the team of the year. Shaw - most distance covered in the prem and most successful dribbles, Lovren - had a shaky period but in the main was excellent. You then have Lambert and chambers who at first I didnt think were massive losses however look as if they will be.

Have a look on Chinavasion
-
Exactly, far more likely that he sees Toby as another option and a player that can play all along the back four (and DM aswell I think) for 6m aswell he is a steal.
-
I dont, and thats not saying Koeman is poor at all, I think he will go on to be very good. Poch however is exceptional.
-
Alderweireld was a player I definately wanted at the start of the season. Would be exellent. Him and a wide man please
-
I still think he could prove to be a good signing if we achieve it. I cant help but feel there must be better more consistant options out there for what is likely to be a large fee and more than reasonable wages ?

Danny Welbeck - Told he can leave.. Only for mid table club

This probably, his wages would be pretty high too, its a shame if we miss out on him IMO as I think he is a decent enough player with potential to improve. He needs to learn to be consistant really -
We've bun over this and over this

Any surveyors on here ? New house issue

I thought as much re: access rights, I work for the electricity board so understand easements etc regarding rights to access pipes etc. Having checked there are no actual easements in place so technically they have no legal right to 'service' the pipe, however Im not an idiot, Im not one for blocking access to the detriment of me or my neighbours TBH. Having done some investigation its a 150mm vit clay pipe, so Im pretty confident it wont cause subsidence etc. Would the water company be responsible for any damage to the house in this case though ? Presumeably Id need indemnity insurance ? As per if they had to replace the pipe Im assuming the consensus would be to divert. Having had to 'repair' HV cables found under houses in the past (even with a legal easement in place) my thoughts were effectively to joint it out, its too much effort to dig up a house, and generally causes more issues then its worth. -
He isnt exceptional, but certainly isnt as bad as some on here make out. He would give us a decent option. Though, above 10m is not only steep but Id imagine there are other options out there.

Cheers for the advice guys, SW have come back and told me that the pipe and any damage is their responsibility which gives me a bit more piece of mind. I think Ill get the CCTV survey done for piece of mind aswell. It looks like a 6 inch clay pipe so shouldnt be too many issues with that I wouldnt think. -
Hi guys, wondered if anyone could shine a light on the following. I am currently halfway through the purchase of a new house, the main survey is complete and most of my relevant documentation. Yesterday however I revieved the land searches back. The one that has thrown up an issue is the water search. Apparantly the house is built directly above a public sewer. I wondered if this is going to be an issue ? And what problems it could cause ? The house itself is 1960'sish and there are manhole covers in the garden, not built over. Any helps appreciated
