I think without a top quality striker we will struggle next year, we saw how difficult it was to score at the end of the season as MoPo tweaked Adkins tactics, Lambert doesnt have the legs to provide what MoPo wants in a fluid front line. Too often he dropped in the hole and has not the legs to get back in the box. England play with one up top supported by a bank of 3 behind, sometimes wingers. WR will play that lone role

I have explained it enough times MLG if you cared looking at previous Lambert for England threads. Plus he is not likely to be our main striker IF we sign who we want. Football is often more than can be programmed into a few algorithms. Its about time to coach, playing systems, players playing together and gaining experience for the future. Lambert WILL not go to Brazil, if I wasnt a Saints fan I wouldnt even bother giving this idea more than a glancing thought

He wont play for england and nor should he, leaving club bias aside we should be looking for youth to be given experience on the national stage not an ageing player who has had one decent season of top flight football who wont fit the system England adopt

Ill stick my hand up pap and say that it is probably one of the more believeable theories that are out there. I did often wonder how it was so difficult to find the man with all the money, intelligence and manpower that the US had. Perhaps there were two sides. Find him and monitor him anonamously in order to help take down his middle management, also maintain a hate figurehead to drum up public support. When finally you have run out of use for him jump in and remove him from the world ? That said it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the US are THAT incompetant they just couldnt manage it.

We would have sold last year if we signed adequate replacements. This year ? I doubt it unless we get an offer we cant refuse, IF we sign a big name forward he wont get the games he did last season, MoPo is looking like he wants a fluid front line and Rickie cant play that way. That said, he can play in the hole or up top so as I said, it wont happen unless its a decent offer and we have replacements. I find it funny though that some believe we can sign some mega names but dismiss stories like this out of hand.
