Thought he played v well up to that point, defensively and his distribution were spot on, that was a poor moment for him though I must admit. He had a shaky start to the season but as the sweeper of our two CBs (more often than not) he did a good job of reading the danger and dealing with it. Not the biggest bloke but dealt wirh arial balls well enough. It really didnt help him playing with Jos and occassionally Fox. Although Jos dort of improved moving forward when you watched closely there was plenty Jos missed that Maya tidied up. Would love to see Maya next to a solid cB to see how good he could be.

Maybe, probably, but not seen him play yet. Personally I think Maya is v underrated by the saints faithfull

I along with many of the staff at St Marys am very hopeful that he will sign, but keyword here is hopeful. It isnt a guarantee by any means. Just because he has stated intention it can still be taken to tribunal if he wanted to leave. Plus there has been plenty of interest in the boy, personally I dont see him as better than Bale at his age, they are different players, Shaw is more bridge than bale IMO but still a fee of 10m plus being loaned back would certainly be appealing if it were to look as though a tribunal fee was the only other option. Your not going to get them to wise up either, like all journos and in fact mist people with a few connections into the game (it wouldnt actually surprise me if you did yourself) we all hear snippets, rumours and things that may never get into the open air. Some of us say nothing, some will repeat it and others exagerate in order to make themselves more interesting. Ill let you work out which one is a more likely path for journalists

This will be a good game, Uraguay are a bigger team these days and certainly stronger then they have been in recent history. Going forward they are very good, defensively not so much

I love Mickles, such a class player and seems a bit of a gent. He is an american through and through though and owned by the bookies by all accounts

He is a great little hassler but I agree he isnt going to really affect anything arial unless he works on his leaping (plyometrics). I think he will end up as a more forward player, he reminds me a lot of Wilshere but hasnt got the build. Worth noting Verrati is a tiny fella aswell and is v good as the disruptive midfielder.

Least needed yes but Id definately like to see more competition here. Start of the season we were trying and failing to replicate a player like cork and so if we can grab someone to add to options and competition I think it will do wonders. Plus, not sure you can turn down a player like banega

Exactly this, I cant see JWP getting an aweful lot of game time this year which is a shame as I think he will be a v good little player. That said, you just cant stand still. We can do a Utd and give him some rotation but at the end of the day if we are looking to improve he will go out on loan or even sell him for a decent amount

Benega, cork and Morgan will be fighting it out for CM role with Gaston in an advanced position IMO. Thats if we sign him of course. Morgan and Banega is simply breathtaking for a team that is new to the PL. Start of the season I wanted a CB, CM, ST and wideman and obviously we are going a long way to doing this. Its all about adding quality competition this year improving on what we have.

Prob spurs bound. In all honesty though the japs were poor, Brazil look a shadow of the team that won the WC in 02. Definately missing a solid frontman since Pato nosedived. And they definately dont seem so strong in DM.
