  1. Id of said we are a way off yet but wow this woukd be a statement
  2. That would be an excellent signing
  3. He definately has a good engine........
  4. TBF brazil havnt let them have much of the ball yet
  5. Which is why I dont really understand the clamour of a partnership involving a right and left footed players, IMO I think that the advantage is possibly there but v minimal
  6. Terry/ivanovic/luiz all RF as far as Im aware Pique and puyol Pepe and verane
  7. Personally I want more mobility upfront and potentially a new wide man but yes, looks v good
  8. I would have said that there is very little basis in the right/left sided partnership of CBs. I mean where do you stop ? A right and left footed CM partnership etc ? You are much better just having a player comfortable on the ball, it really isnt hard. I would have said the majority of coaches and managers are just looking for able players at the heart of their defence and a partnership of a ball playing CB and ball winning CB is much more favourable
  9. Good player, had a poor end to his Lyon stint but a change of scene and some coaching by poch and it coukd be inspired. Just got back from IOW and this happens !!! Epic Ill go to download tomorrow, see if it helps
  10. There is no point having this arguement Turks, they have been told before but dont bother to listen. I cant be arsed to go through players playing together, time to coach, systems etc again. Clearly the answer is any Englishman that plays for saints, plus a couple from lower league sides. Fergie and the professionals at Utd etc are wrong, Welbeck and Cleverley arent fit to play for Dagenham etc etc
  11. Hope not, I dont pay for insurance anymore anyway. But I do see your point, this or black boxes will be the future I think
  12. Oh jesus christ calm down
  13. Plus generally the bigger signings are not made until the end of the window or else you end up paying wages for an extra 2 months plus all of the travel expenses to get players here and there. Add to this the fact that players are on their holidays or internationals. In short, everyone needs to stop getting their knickers in a twist, trust me we will be ok.
  14. Adkins always struck me as one of those managers that needed all the help he could get in the transfer market. He seemed to sort out Punch tho
  15. The forum isnt slow but whenever I go on the Staplewood thread it crashes safari
  16. Not sure what his wages are, and last season Celtic wanted in excess of 10-12 mil, which is a lot even for someone of his scoring record who is technically untried in a top division. At 4-6 mil it is probably worth the risk, dependant of wages. I could see him joining a bottom half of the table side for that and doing v well. Id actually be happy with his signing if Im honest
  17. Hooper is a good player IMO, not slow, good feet, good in the air and has scored goals everywhere and in Europe. Unfortunately The SFL is a poor standard so it will still be a risk. Still, at 4-6 mil he could end up a steal.
  18. Still, if only we had Michail Antonio aswell
  19. He played the first 90 minutes you mentalist
  20. We have had entirely the wrong idea for tournament preparation and getting an international side to the level required to perform under those conditions. Too much emphasis is put on how the England marketing machine is there to make money in the way that we play too many prestiege friendlies and concentrate on our more marketable players making appearances. It all has to be changed from the top down, they need a director of football and the respective managers of the England teams (U19s, U21's, senior) all singing from the same hymn sheet and understanding how to build an international side. This includes keeping the best possible teams together for the underage tournaments, not whisking them away for pointless friendlies. Making more use of our technical training centre. And not picking players in a side that are too old for the next WC, whether its a euro season or not. The team needs to bed and gel and the fact you get little time to coach internationals mean that its vital to get them to gel. The prem and the FA need to stop banging their heads together aswell, and personally if a player refuses to play in an under 21 tourney I would refuse to pick then for the full side. Itll be a long road, so will need to ignore the media and fans clamour for overage players that just show some short term form in order to bring younger blood through. Even at international levels a team can go through transition. Hermany did, spain did, italy did. Sadly England and the FA are more concerned with money than success.
  21. This.... I agree with You either use the boy properly or you need to reinvest in players that fit the system you want to play. FWIW as seen against everton he doesnt seem scared to get stuck in a play the pressing game either
  22. Im not entirely sure if he has ever held one has he ? Not that I remember anyway... For one reason or another
