  1. Again situational, i would expect that from any manager that has this team, facilities and wealth behind it, anything less than that (and IMO its not great as you say championship form would be around the 60% mark). Timing could be out of NC's hands dependant on what has happened, but at the start of the season, with a game in hand and 6 points of the leaders after 3 games is hardly the worst possible time. The end of season run in however would have been. Success ? No not really, the JPT was a great day out but give it a few years and no one will care, it is a lower league cup. Our club will be judged on major trophies and league positions only.
  2. Before the season started i was more than confident we would be ok, but after the start we have had i was not so sure really. In all honesty with the team and money we have had to spend i would be dissapointed if I couldn't get us promoted let alone an experienced manager. This goes for last season as well, IMO if he was more tactically aware and more reactive to what was happening on the pitch we could have made the playoffs, also he asked for more cash in order to make it, he didn't. We have not made a blistering start, players look off form, but Swindon was a blip, it won't happen much. The fact the move has come so early has helped as we can sort ourselves out now rather than damaging a run later, also we were hardly in form anyway. Another thing is it was in the cup, this will help to focus on the league. Losing Pardew is not as bad as is being made out, plus if he was damaging the team it is a positive step (i accept we don't know either way). Unfortunately the fact he is being made out to be the best manager since WGS is situational as opposed to characteristically, in the same way as people can say Keegan achieved a lot..... but only when backed by cash.
  3. Were not likely to hear anything though i am afraid, we never do at any club really Cortese or no Cortese. The fact is however that when managers are usually dismissed for no reason to them then they usually 'release' the info at some point, like in MON's case. The fact Pardew has left without looking back or mentioning anything is as deafening as Cortese keeping his trap shut.
  4. Would fit in the puzzle i have been told
  5. Equally i am surprised that many believe it was the 'crazy' dictators 'crazy' f*ck up due to him not liking him. Look at whats happened and that we have heard nothing. Add this to the fact that Cortese has been a very successful in business. Honestly, if he identified Pardew as a weak link as some are saying or didn't like him then surely he would have a planned replacement. He hasn't, it seems to be a quick decision made on what can only assume an incident that has happened somewhere. Thats how i see it. Everywhere Pardew has been has been marred with something that has gone wrong or someone he has rubbed up the wrong way, this only adds to my thoughts on the issue.
  6. Its not really a major f*ck up though is it ?? Pardew wasn't that great and we don't actually know whats happened ?
  7. B*llocks. We have been playing with no imagination and no plan B if our main game plan was not coming to fruition. Our best players were simply not performing and there was obvious friction between NC, Pardew and the sports development staff. Add this to the now many rumours that Pardew did not get on too well with the players (something i heard before he was sacked) and the fact that apparantly he was just not motivated any more (don't know about that one so much). The thing is Pardew is not the managerial god everyone believes he is, he spent alot of money which all in all gave us our success, i don't think he is the sort of manager that could achieve anything without adequate backing. What really p*sses me off is the majority of fans who were booing the team early in the season... PARDEWS team, and now he is gone singing for him. Pathetic, fickle t*ssers the lot of them. As for Alpines repeated 'the players couldn't be bothered tues night' you were not at the game ? You heard it on the radio or from other posters who may or may not have been at the game ? So stop banging on as if it were fact. The players looked committed, just not good enough. And Jaidi managed to pretty much gift Swindon two goals. Fact is the players have been out of form every game so far.
  8. He probably won't get the cash if he gets a pay off ? Unless you mean from the papers etc ?? It also depends what has actually happened, if it is Pardews fault (of which i am leaning towards from what i hear) then he has no basis to go to the papers etc, what would be the point ? Whats done is done, i hope now the club will sit down and hire a committed, motivated and tactically astute manager who can get the best out of our players.
  9. Davis Butterfield Fonte Martin Harding Hammond Schniederlin Ox-C Puncheon Dickson Lambert We need a win, we need to play with some belief. And our big players need to hit form soon. Everyone is saying they looked bad on Tues as they were so bothered about the Pardew Dismissal but in all honesty we haven't been at our best all season yet. Hopefully the managers seat will be filled soon.
  10. See i cant believe that, when i had my ACL reconstructed the consultant came in and did a very important stage. He drew an arrow on the knee he was operating on.
  11. Nice, where did you hear that ?
  12. Actually taken a bet from my mate who said he would strip and rub his ballbag on Ted Bates statue if this happened. Oh, i would punch Dune
  13. Currently injured. Wilkins said he was fearing the worst last night. Had a scan today. Anyone heard anything ?? I mean i knew the boy was good but it seems he is absolutely vital this year.
  14. What do you train ?? You really need to be training playmaking to get anything out of an excellent coach
  15. They acted like Sulky w*nkers because you listened to a poor performance on the radio ?? Good one They actually looked like they put a lot of commitment in, Jaidi looked commited, he also looked Sh*te Hammond did his usual run around a lot but played some poor balls. The only player that looked uncommitted for me was Lambert and he has been out of sorts all season.
  16. Hardly much prem experience, you can name 100's of managers who have been in the prem at some point. Steve Wigley has premiership experience ffs. Did well in the cups ? He won the JPT trophy with a team that spent sh*t loads considering the league and came runner up in the FA Cup. Straws and clutching spring to mind.
  17. Yeah i winced a little when i wrote his name
  18. Thanks the9 absolutely spot on. I even turned to my mate and said the bolded bit when Harding (who is a bit of a d*ck at times shouting at everyone) had a go at him. He obviously isn't used to having the ball played infront of him, and is clearly right footed and likes playing inside so we stick him out on the left.......why ? He showed some decent touches, and some of the flicks came off but the experiment didn't work, i am not going to judge him as a player but the performance last night was poor. To say Fonte had a poor game is rediculous, he did what he could basically playing as two defenders and sometimes three behind Jaidi and Harding, i was bemused when i saw him sweep up behind the left back (he is a RCB ffs). Jaidi was so so poor last night, slow, cumbersome and lacked concentration, Fonte did well to do what he did and if i was him i would have come of the pitch livid i had to work so hard in such a poorly performing defence. Connelly looked bright for me, no one else really stood out except for Ox-C and puncheon who always looks dangerous but holds on to it too long. I have no idea whats up with Rickie.
  19. TBF, VFTB also posted on another thread before the Bristol game that Pardew was on the way out, as did myself. As for the manager situation we will have to wait and see if what i was told is true, and if it is i will be pretty p*ssed off.
  20. Not saying he shouldn't, he just seems pretty damn stubborn, which has good and bad points.
  21. Heard exactly the same from Reading fans, who, after all he did for them don't like him.
  22. It was cringworthy and rather pathetic, especially after those same fans boo'd some of Pardews teams performances this year. Fickle w*nkers.
  23. TBF i think its more comical the sun making such a massive deal out of the whole issue, they could just ignore us instead they are looking like prats. If i were to put money on it i bet NC doesn't back down first.
  24. Don't think it is just about the training. Some of the players are unhappy with some of the ways AP was working. AP had lost all interest working for NC but wasn't just going to walk (and TBF why should he?) So NC did what was needed. What i don't know, (as someone said earlier it was ML that wanted rid and not NC) is if the decision to lose AP at the end of last season was made why not do it then and get a new man in early ?? Another theory i shall chuck out there (and this is just IMO) is that perhaps NC thought if AP was chopped then AP,MS,RL would think about leaving and so keeping him in until the transfer window was all but shut would keep them at the club ?? Or perhaps something happened last week to really break the whole relationship ? What i do know is that the martin story is tripe.
