  1. What a game by the vikes yesterday. Brett Favre is simply a genius. I cannot wait for next sunday now! Some may disagree, but this Vikings/Saints match up has got the makings of being better than the superbowl. So many interesting stories. 2 amazing QBs and the best 2 offenses in the NFL. Also, i can't wait to see how our old mate Darren Sharper plays against us! The Saints really surprised me on Saturday night. I certainly didn't expect them to come out and play the way they did (especially on D). Bush had a great game and the 'x factor match up' between him and Percy Harvin will be interesting next Sunday. The super dome is always going to be a huge advantage, as it was for the vikes yesterday. But never go against this Vikings team. We have guys all over the field, on both sides of the ball, who can step up and make big plays. Also, Adrian is gunna be angry come Sunday. No big game for a month or so now for AD. I expect him to come to the party in a BIGGGG way! Either way, here is to a great game next sunday and may the best team win!
  2. Haven't read through all of the thread, but of what i've read i agree with hypocondriac. It seems like a very strange signing to me, and one in which we don't necessarily need. We already have plenty of good back up for the centre half positions. Surely we don't need another player in that position who more than likely won't play more than a handful of games this season? I used to work down in Devon and here is what an Exeter mate of mine text me last night: "Not disappointed hes left. Not sure he is up to league 1 standard which makes it all the more surprising a team like you have signed him. Is Wayne Thomas off? I think hes a much better player"
  3. If Ward doesn't come i won't lose too much sleep over it to be honest. He's a half decent player, but we already have too many centre backs as it is. Do we really need another one? Jiadi and Fonte, with Thomas and Perry as back ups. Very solid indeed, especially at this level.
  4. Shame it was Best who scored. I hate that little jumped up piece of **** just as much as Pompey. Fingers crossed the score stays the same, and Leon picks up a nasty injury. Perfect scenario.
  5. Gotta disagree George. It is very rare that the home team wins every game throughout the post season (in fact, anyone know when that last happened?). I definately fancy the Packers over the Cardinals and i reckon the Eagles/Cowboys game could go right down to the wire. Eagles 17-20 Cowboys Jets 20-7 Bengals Ravens 14-31 Pats Packers 34-27 Cards Those are my wildcard predictions for this weekend anyway! Looking forward to it!
  6. No need to apologise mate. I'm a vikes fan but i just fancy the Chargers to do well. Regarding the Jets, i fancy them over the Bengals. I watched the game sunday night and if i was a bengals fan i'd be very worried about that Jets defense. If they get through this weekend, i think they might cause the Colts a few problems in the divisional round providing their running game is firing, which t has been in the last few weeks.
  7. Got to say, i think we're in for a belter of a post season! It really is anyones in both conferences. I think in the AFC the team to beat are the Chargers. The colts hae let it slip the last couple of weeks and i think they'll regret benching their starters half way through their game with the Jets. Bad call in my opinion. Momentum can prove crucial in these post season games. In the NFC it's completely open. That conference really is anyones. There is another potential Farve/Packers meeting in the divisional play-offs - how tasty does that sound?! But either way, George, i'm worried for you mate. 3 L's going into post season is not good. After the Saints turned over the Pats on MNF i'd have said they were head and shoulders above another other team in the league. But not now. One and done in the play offs? Could well be if you get the dangerous Packers or Eagles. Anyway, roll on post season. It should be one hell of a few weeks of football! Picks for the Super bowl anyone? I'm going with Vikings vs Chargers (but then again, i am biased!)
  8. I would rest all the players who are a booking away from a ban as well as one or two other key starters and leave them on the bench (Lambert and Lallana). We all want a nice day out on the beer at Wembley, but in the grand scheme of things there are FAR more important things, such as a busy xmas schedule over the next few weeks. Lets face it, this competition is a complete joke and i am still completely stunned that we are competing in it.
  9. I haven't read one post of yours that i find 'funny'. I find you extremely irratating.
  10. Yawn yawn ****ing yawn. Go away please. You have proved what a complete muppet you are just in one post. P.S. George - Don't go calling the vikes the Minnesota Farve's just yet buddy. Adrian might not be getting the breaks at the minute, but WHEN he does (and i am hoping that'll be around January time) the Saints, Packers, Cards or whover else the vikes are gunna be facing in post season better watch out! Quite frankly, i'm drooling at the prospect of a saints/vikings NFC championship game...
  11. I didn't know there was an NFL thread! Great stuff. Firstly, Saint George, you can't say your win in Washington was anything other than pure luck. Firstly with the Skins kicker missing that chip shot, which i believe he has lost his job over. And then in over time that turnover was a pathetic call by the referees! It makes me wonder if the NFL really badly want two undefeated teams to go through regular season and eventually meet in the super bowl. Cynical view, but one which a lot of fans are starting to believe... Having said that, there is no doubt the Saints are number 1 in the NFL right now and definately the team to beat after my vikes folded on SNF to the impressive cardinals. However, i'm just wondering if the Saints may have used up all their luck already this season. It is going to be a very very interesting last few weeks of regular season. But the game i want to see is Vikings/Saints in the NFC championship. If both teams turn up, i reckon that could be better an unbelievable match up. But a hell of a long way to go yet!
  12. Very nicely summed up. I agree with all of that. Thought Jaidi had his best game for us today. I've got to say though, i'm a massive fan of Morgan. He just oozes class. And to do it on a cold December rainy day on a **** pitch shows me he's the real deal. But all in all a very good performance against tricky opponents. P.S. My 'funny of the day' had to be the tannoy announcement after about 50 mins... "Attention Mr blah blah, your wife has phoned and requested that you call her IMMEDIATELY, repeat IMMEDIATELY" - ******* superb!
  13. I think it's a good point that some of our current team appear to be in a 'comfort zone'. Personally, the one postion that really worries me is centre half. Jaidi appears to be undroppable and unfortunately i think he knows it. Not convinced at all by him and i'm surprised as i thought he would have been our signing of the season. Hopefully his performances will pick up over the next couple of months. If not i'd look at bringing in another centre back in January. To say that Davis isn't good enough for League 1 is completely laughable though. He has saved our bacon time after time over the last year or two making save after save. Today he could have done better with their 2nd but calling for him to be replaced after one very small error is totally ridiculous! As for Lloyd James, i'm surprised he gets so much abuse. He has been played totally out of position and in my opinion has done a pretty decent job on the whole. I see him playing a crucial part in our late season run for the play offs in a defensive midfield role. That is his main position and when he has played there he has looked just what we're lacking. Calm head, composed and a wonderful right foot. He's also a great assist on set pieces which are crucial in any standard of football. I really am confused with all this negativity. We had a great run during October and we never going to carry on winning every game. We've got a great new owner, finally a good manager who has brought in some exciting players. On the whole, we have played some cracking football and can still get in the play offs with a good late season run. Despite a disappointing couple of results, i am loving being a saints fan at the minute. So much to enjoy and FINALLY we have so much to look forward to.
  14. Lorry drivers (and in particular european lorry drivers) on dual carriageways. Firstly why does one decide to overtake whilst going up a hill, and then why does the other take it upon himself to attempt to race? The A34 is a particular 'hate spot' of me. ****s.
  15. Can someone also tell me the words of the 'She's (harry redknapp's mum) a whore!' song please. Only heard it at aways this season and can't for the life of me work out the words so usually just end up yelling 'she's a whore' every couple of minutes!
  16. I don't know how people can watch saints stone cold sober nowadays. I like to spend a good few hours in the boozer before (and after) the game. It's usually by far the best bit of the day and also softens the blow of watching the inevitable 90 minutes of dog ****e that follows. I got lumbered into driving to palace away last season and hated every second of it...
  17. Very unlikely i would suggest. The corners will more than likely still be shut.
  18. As much as i want Kelvin to stay, i don't think it's going to happen. He and Wotte are making all the right noises now, but when Mrs Davis sees what Leicester City (and other clubs) will be offering him compared to us i doubt she will be as keen for him to stay here. But we'll have to wait and see.
  19. Interesting ideas posted throughout this thread. One thing is for sure and that football is seriously shooting itself in the foot as far as the embarrassing amounts of money that are being dished out at the top of the spectrum are concerned. I see another club (Chester City) have gone into administration today. Extremely sad times and it appears the FA couldn't really give two ****s about anyone in the championship and below or they would have made far greater efforts to help the lower leagues. When you hear rubbish about this 39th game abroad it proves that the only thing that tosser Scudamore and all his cronies at the FA care about is money. It wouldn't surprise me at all if in the next decade or so we see a complete structural change to english football where the 20 premiership clubs break off and form one league without relegation. Each club having one rich sugar daddy foreign owner and maybe even introducing a draft system as they do in the USA. Either way though, football is currently in serious freefall. Fans are being pushed out by the embarrassing ticket prices and the FA has shown to sign of attempting to change this.
  20. Fair enough i don't know how many days a week he worked. However, i do know that he was on much bigger wage than Lowe's 100k. In fact, in comparison, the money Hoos was earning makes Lowe's wage look like pocket money. I've had the displeasure of meeting Lee Hoos. He is an arrogant, smarmy, up-his-own-arse, ****** and in my opinion, should definately take some blame for our current financial troubles.
  21. No mate, it really isn't. 100k is absolutely nothing. Even for a club in our position. I'm not Lowe's biggest fan, but i must admit i am pleasently surprised he was on such a tiny wage. You say Crouch was on nothing. It's not fair to compare the two. It would be fairer to compare Lee Hoos who i can 100% assure you he was on FAR more than 100k. There is no arguing Lowe has made a lot of mistakes and thankfully he has now ****ed off. But some people seem to want to blame him for everything and anything. Carry on doing it if it makes you feel better but our current position is doing to more than just one hopeless businessman.
  22. Cracking idea mate. The guide would be very helpful for me as i like to stay up a night and have a good old **** up after the game. Perhaps a section on hotels could be included? Or more specifically, cheap hotels as close to the town centre and ground as possible...?
  23. Euell - I'm sorry for hurling non-stop abuse at you pretty much everytime you have played in the last 2 years. I guess it's not your fault you were offered such an embarrassing wage. However, you (along with Mr Wotton) are one of the worst footballers i have ever seen in a saints shirt. You won't be missed but thanks for at least looking like you give a ****. Wright-Phillips - Good ****ing riddance you useless, overpaid, prima-donna ******. You have done nothing but be an annoyance since you arrived. If you put half as much effort into playing football on the pitch as you did to being a complete idiot off it, then you wouldn't be a bad player. However, you don't and unfortunately for you, you won't be able to live off your name for much longer. Stealing off students, covering fans in takeaway food because you don't like the truth, using the phrase 'don't you know who i am?' when people take exception to your embarrassing behaviour on nights out... Thanks for nothing you useless tosser.
  24. Bore off you pathetic loser. Surely you have something better to be doing than pretending to be a know-it-all on an internet messageboard?
  25. **** all will happen today. Not too sure why i carry on reading this forum. It's clearly full of spotty little kids making stuff up or sad big time heros trying to look like they're "in the know". It is ****ing pathetic. Anyone who posts a made up story should be automatically banned from the forum. ****ing *****s.
