  1. That Daily Mail link is over 18 months old!
  2. My thoughts exactly when I saw it.
  3. Wooooooooot! First hat trick!
  4. Or, when I see a good one from him, Misguided Missile.
  5. That's a lot of tricks worth for the 'laydeez' in Turk Town
  6. If Carling did worst CEO's?
  7. From that article: "I think one of the reasons why they bought Portsmouth was because the Premier League was so high profile. Because the father had had some bad publicity, they saw this as a way of protecting the son and cleaning the Gaydamak name a little bit.'' Arcadi's exit from Israel sent waves rolling up the Solent. " One has to laugh! Arkadi Gaydamak: Alleged gun runner, crook, arms dealer and PCFC owner. That's one hell of a soiled C.V.
  8. I also think that should ML decide he wants to persue an interest other than Saints then I really think his professional and business ethics will not lead to him 'bailing out' on us. He would leave us, sold to another decent party, in fair financial health and certainly not at the whim of countless nefarious individuals or the legal ones such as HMRC (no insinuations intended here ). Of course I don't know this as a fact but, in comparison to Mr Storrie's record at other clubs, ML can hardly fail!
  9. The owner's word. Crucial description because, you see, PCFC had people give their word and make lots of promises. Which now lay torn and tattered among the windswept detritus of a gutter that is Goldsmith Avenue. Just who's word would you really trust? It's a tough call, P.Storrie and his vagabonds or a rather genteel fellow of european extraction who has made his business ethic 'work without debt'.
  10. Isn't that a breach of PL rules? More fines (football debt) to follow? This thread has a whole lot of miles left in it yet.
  11. In that scenario they will get the 'Golden share' but at the cost of ten or even fifteen points. I think that was part of the deal for Luton?
  12. Do B.A. employ baggage handlers? Or are they employed by B.A.A. (a slightly different entity).
  13. Ah yes, but in that scenario PCFC would be promoted having already had the parachute payment. When, exactly (in the normal course of events) does the parachute payment arrive? If I remember rightly it's staged in two payments through the season? In other words if a team would get the first year anyway, regardless of promotion, then my question is answered. I'm just used to seeing nefarious activity from that end of the M27.
  14. Which returns me to a point I raised way back. If the Blue Phew manage to gain promotion in their first season then the Championship would be entitled to any parachute payments due being shared. What if some of that has already gone? Paid to PCFC creditors? Will the PL make up the difference? (He asked, half guessing that a resounding NO would be the answer).
  15. Why are we not surprised at either of these revelations?
  16. Lollity lol!
  17. Bloody foreigner.
  18. And we go on, blindly thinking that we are the only planet with life on it? When I get to thinking about it I get an overload in my head because I just can't beging to imagine the size or placing of anything. As they say in the clip, we have no context apart from this beautiful blue globe* which we live on. * OK pedants, oblate spheroid if you must.
  19. Indeed! I hoped my self deprecation would have travelled a little better. I am of Eastleigh (and Fair Oak) stock and at 54 I have seen Eastleigh change over the years. I often refer to anyone over about 35 as what I call 'old Eastleigh'. By that I mean involved with local people and the ways of the town. I am very proud of my heritage in Eastleigh, despite the disparaging 'beastly Eastleigh' comments. The place has changed as what seems like overspill has populated the town and I fear that the old Eastleigh may have gone forever. A shame really.
  20. More class in Herbie's little finger than TCWTB has in all his body. We would all do well to aspire to be like Herbie. Well done Sir!
  21. I sat the 17th Edition in November last year (and passed, much to my surprise). We talked about the very point that anybody can get hold of almost any piece of electrical kit and install it in their home. The Regs do not prohibit that. IEE Regs Chapter 63 lays out the Certification & Reporting procedure. There are grey areas which Electricians can debate forever and each will have their own interpretation but,TO BE SAFE, it is best to get all electrical work inspected and tested by a COMPETENT PERSON. Which is the point I have made all along. DOG, with reference to Saint In Exile's garage etc. I would have thought that as the Electrician was replacing the Consumer unit he should have tested the circuits he was connecting? If any of the existing circuits were then failed he would not issue a certificate but instead advised of work needed? Or is this covered under the caveat that the regs are not retrospective? As I'm not in construction and don't experience this I would tread very carefully and go by the letter of the Regs. Which, really, is partly why I don't do home jobs as I C.B.A. with customers constantly changing their minds etc!
  22. Just a general observation from my viewpoint. I think that Poopey fans hate us far more than we hate them. I think that, for some unreal reason, Poopey fans have far more of a chip on their shoulder about us than we do about them. I think that we view the Poopey fans with mild disdain and pity. far more than they do to us. And, finally, I think it's the previous point which really grips their she!te.
  23. Oh dear! It's HAVE not OF! Oh, sorry, forgot you talk mockney! You!
  24. Its hartd tw2 tyupe witgh brojken rwists.
  25. Absolutely spot on mate. I told my pet Skates at work that if they didn't beat us I would be surprised.
