Something has been on my mind for many years now. This may sound stupid, it may have even been mentioned before. 9/11 =911 the U.S. emergency telephone number. Tomorrow is 9/9/9. I would not be totally surprised for there to be an attack on Brits tomorrow. I hope my concerns are totally misplaced.

I know that this is going back over the events of the close season but Pardew was appointed late on, he has stated that there was no infrastructure on the scouting side. So he has had little time to identify and implement what he needed. I admire his honesty and believe that he has hit the ground running to the best of what he is able to do given those confines. He could have had millions to spend but with few, or no, targets identified early enough he was stymied. Come January we may well see some movement, in and out, of players he has decided on.

This, and the O.P., make fine and logical sense. Rome was not built in a day. This may take a million baby steps. Sure, I get fed up with the last minute losses, failing to beat a ten man team and only getting a draw at best. Who doesn't? This is all about shaping Saints, building stability for a secure future. What happened up until the start of this season is now in the past. Let's take our lessons from that and go forward in support. All I really want is for us to stay up and be a stable team and organisation. We do need to be realistic, despite our hopes and aspirations, this is going to take some time.

I was thinking this myself just the other day, I was in a discussion with a Manc about the Jamie Turner affair and how it's viewed differently. He mentioned that some of the Bompey firm were talking about coming up here the next time we get to play Man.U. We both remarked on how Bompey are Skate wannabes and have some sort of fixation, with Saints being their focus of 'dislike'. So, Bompey (for the sheer enjoyment of knocking them out of the cup) for me.

They may well 'cover' their client in a fortuitous way but as sure as 'eggs is eggs' they will still up his premium at renewal!
