  1. Try discussing anything with the head at Cherbourg School. At best, so it is alleged, she will get her collection of pebbles out and ask you to play with them to 'ease your stress'. At worst (my experience)? You have one visit and walk out feeling like you are in the wrong for asking, that all your thinking is skewed against the school etc. You never bother going back again. A total and utter waste of time. And don't get me started on Quilley, our Son is not going there!
  2. I wish you wouldn't beat about the bush. Apart from a few points you'd never get away with I think most are valid.
  3. Not sappy at all, and a moment that you and young Matthew will remember forever. I treasure moments such as that.
  4. We've been there, seen it, done it. We know you're a racist. What's to discuss?
  5. I think that when you contact an ISP with a view to signing up with them they can ping you ans see what speeds you could get. Although I always thought, maybe wrongly?, that using a landline limits you by the distance from the exchange? So whichever ISP you choose would probably not be that distinct an improvement? **EDIT** Thanks to his Bajesty for confirming my thoughts.

  7. How about irony instead of humour? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/5611876/BNP-ordered-to-accept-ethnic-minority-members-or-face-prosecution.html
  8. Any more than could you hold back on your latent racism Stanley.
  9. You can just see this coming can't you! I'd be more surprised if it doesn't happen, we'll get it for failing to come out of a CVA correctly. Even though we are not in one. You really couldn't make it up.
  10. And how would one, from such a great height, describe the other half? Furthermore, which half does one place one's self in?
  11. To be honest it's something which I saw in use elsewhere, but I can't recall quite where. So, sadly, it's not my clever work (not that any of my work is clever!).
  12. As a Tory, Lord MinnyHawHaw is too far to the left for Mole.
  13. Cut the man some drift, he's trying to save our football club. If he posts on here then he more than likely reads on here and can see some of the fans are less than happy at the FL. He's asking us to bear with him and work with him by being patient. For a future that we all want. This may take a million baby steps. Future owners, players, club staff and fans. One team for one Southampton!
  14. Indeed, and one which might well fit the bill. Nice thinking!
  15. Into how many parts?
  16. Help me Rhondda yeh, get her our of my heart!
  17. I know I am, "An' I got a sustificate to prove it!"
  18. All those words to ask what the Swiss role is! I'll get my coat.
  19. Point taken, apart from: 1. My understanding about the 'Pre-Wilde' bit. Was there really a time such as that? Wilde pretended he was listening and made the appropriate noises but just couldn't walk the walk. Prior to him? I don't think the guy even pretended to listen! Oh! there were the Fan Forums. Hmmmm. 2. I do honestly believe that most Saints fans are not going to want it all now. We are only too aware of the problems caused by stretching too far. All we really want is a team that will try to play as well as they can and, once in a while, to play and turn over the bigger team. I believe most of us are really able to endure a slow building process. In fact it's all that's realistically going to be available to us for the foreseeable future!
  20. The thought that Tony Lynam is setting a standard here of giving respect, a respect which is gratefully received even though we have done little to earn it. Given that respect it becomes very easy to afford that mutual respect in return. Now, while this does not mean that this will become a mutual, backslapping, admiration society it does mean that we can realise that as fans we can raise concerns and they will be discussed and, if necessary and possible, be addressed. There will hopefully be no need for the confrontation politics which most of us have descended into during the last ten or so God forsaken years. Board, players, club staff and fans. One team. One Southampton!
  21. I take your point that we are out of exclusivity however I think that each party to the discussions needs to keep their powder dry until either the deal is done or all is lost. I feel that only then might it be prudent to reveal the lies, damn lies, statistics and terminological inexactitudes which have probably bounced back and forth in order to sell this deal to Pinnacle. To be honest I think we owe Pinnacle and Tony Lynam a debt of gratitude for persevering in a situation when maybe a few of us may well have thrown the baby out with the bath water when we drenched Mr MinnyHawHaw ! To me it still looks positive, indeed much more positive than when insomnia woke me to post in the early hours of this morning.
  22. Halo, thanks for 'articulating' my feelings far better than I could have achieved! The whole (in)action by the FL does seem to be a rearguard one or, as I would call it, covering their arses!
  23. That's the problem with being drugged by one's own perception of how wonderful and right one is. One becomes blinded to the subtle nuances of any other's actions or inactions and in doing so perceives that one is unassailable. Then the aroma of coffee tends to waken one very sharply from one's own dreams.
