  1. That's twice that 'pikey' has been mentioned on Stu's thread. Is there a 'common' denominator?
  2. Wouldn't it be ironic to have to face them as our last game away, with a win promoting us and relegating them?
  3. I thought it was OK and at least I could tune in at work to listen to the game. It's absolutely terrible that the staff have lost their jobs, I know how they must feel having recently lost mine (soon back in work though) but this is an expense which the football club can currently ill afford. Unless the new owner has a big pot with enough to gamble a little on a radio station? I'm not really quite up to suggesting how he/she spends their money, be it on players, management team or radio station, because I'm quite grateful that we have a club to support next season. That's used my luck up for the year I would imagine!
  4. I agree, the way I see it has come from many years of different Governments basically doing the same thing with their own version of fine tuning each others efforts. I realise that a Government, and it's services, need to be financially accountable but the emergency services, health, education, armed forces all seem to be totally under the eagle eye of accountants and the ensuing army of bureaucrats. Far, far, far too many chiefs and not enough injuns for my liking.
  5. Sometimes their attitude gets engendered by the attitude of the person they are stopping? I was pulled last year by ANPR. I was shocked and surprised to be pulled but I remained polite and they were polite to me. After they had found that I was totally legal (new car and not showing as insured) they apologised and we all went on with our business. They are only people, like you and I. Many good and a few bad apples. Their primary job has been eroded by cost cutting which leaves them endless reams of paperwork to do after an arrest. There are so few of them and they cannot possibly be everywhere at once nor respond immediately to every situation. The individual policeman is not there as a business but, maybe, the people way above them may see it like that?
  6. Thank you both, that was my take on it and my hope! Duncan, as to fans having no say, did we really have a say previously anyway? I would hope that the new owner would continue in the current vein started by Tony's message. I'm sure that Tony would have consulted him prior to saying anything and that in doing so will have sown the seeds of dialogue between Club and fans. Onwards and upwards, the most positive I have felt for some three or so years now!
  7. Never had one, due to shifts worked. My new job starts in July and if I can afford it and be able to use it (maintenance is always a heavy drain on hours) I would get one for me and my boy.
  8. Debt free, I keep seeing this mentioned by various posters. So I need to ask, to what level are we debt free? Does anyone really know, without supposition or do we need to be patient and wait until the deal reaches fruition and we learn about it? Are we debt free as in, we have paid Barclays off (£4+ million or a %) we have closed the mortgage with a one off payment? We have paid HMRC? When I put 'have' I mean of course that the new owner would do that as part of the deal. Or will we still have a large mortgage (millstone) to fund on L1 income? I do appreciate that these queries may not be answerable right now, but thanks in anticipation of any guidance!

  12. Had to be, they are inextricably linked......according to the FL.
  13. Lowe in! Oh! we've tried that..... ....twice.
  14. I'm beginning to feel that not only are we down the plughole but that some bugger is placing the plug back in to stop us trying to crawl out.
  15. Das Puppetmeister never read it then.
  16. Everything was totally believable until that last sentence.
  17. If we were not involved in a glorious schitfest ourselves I would love to engage in a large helping of schadenfreude!
  18. You should really try using a fine toothed comb. Only too happy to help. ;-) Just read back, I jumped straight here to make this comment. I did not 'Google' for the correct answer.
  19. Nick, with all respect. That is the stuff. Life's a schiit and then you're dead. What you can influence is worth worrying about mate. What you cannot influence, as in this case, it's really not worth raising your blood pressure over. On here we have now dissected just about every possible angle. We've criticised, moaned, taken the p155, got downright angry with others. We've laughed, smiled, cheered, got our hopes up and, most of all, been depressed. I think it's time to just wait in silent hope. We've all had our say, it's no longer worth us all falling out. God help us.
  20. I presume that this was tongue in cheek?
  21. There'll be a few Mancs at their doctors this morning then.
