Sorry if already covered, but when solent said that 30 working managers have applied, what exactly does 'working' mean? Are they saying that all 30 applicants are currently employed, or that all 30 are recognised managers/coaches?

Would love KS to be right, I would jizz in my pants if we appointed MON

I am so sick of people on this forum telling others that they're 'stupid', an 'idiot', a 'negative ****' etc. etc. If it so irritates you to read other people's views, don't go on a forum

Flat is spot on. I've never known real success as a saints fan and for once I thought this was about to change, I was optimistic for the first time in 10 years of (properly) supporting saints. Now I feel like its all happening over again. Same old same old. I know it's early in the season, I know things might change, but I would just love to support a successful, stable club.

Hart has never done anything of note in management. FACT Of all the unemployed english managers...

I totally understand your point, and people like Eddie Howe and Lee Clarke would support your view. However I would say that bringing in someone young and inexperienced at this moment is too much of a risk, seeing as we simply cannot afford them time to 'get to grips' with the league. It's imperative that we hit the ground running with someone who's done it all before.

I don't think people are writing off their careers, it's more that they would find it strange to replace AP with one of them when he is vastly more experienced. NC is a lot of things but he aint stupid, he knows that we are expecting a big appointment and he will be wanting one too. I will be sorely disappointed if a manager without a single promotion to his name gets the job.

The more I think about it, the more I want Tony Mowbray - and he would deffo fit in with Our Beloved Leader with the football he plays. Has the best experience of getting teams playing their way out of divisions, and unlike at West Brom he should get a significant transfer budget to keep us in the PL. Paul Jewell also has experience of getting promotions and I would be confident of our rise through the divisions with him in charge, but like others have said he is liable to flake out under the pressure of a PL relegation battle - although I would be satisfied with his appointment. O'Neil is obviously still my favourite, and is not as unlikely as people are saying. I think the challenge might appeal to him, and he obviously struggles with media interest which he would not get in L1. He would be brilliant to attract top players and get bums on seats. There are no other options really that I would see as a step up from AP

I just don't get the whole Tommy Widdrington thing, what has he ever done to be held in such high esteem?
-
lol, how quality would Bilic be
-
He's joking, this has already been established
-
O'Neil Mowbray Jewell But would still rather have Pards
-
Who is your source? MASSIVE risk to get rid of a proven manager and replace him with a novice
-
Dean Wilkins has been appointed caretaker manager, so maybe they really don't have someone lined up?
-
I was a self confessed NC supporter. I was wrong, he's a pr1ck
-
Eddie Howe? Not that I would be happy with anyone that isn't AP right now, but he is clearly talented
