Its nothing to do with low expectations, Pards praised his performance at the time and he would quite likely have had a longer run in the team without inury. If he wasn't up to it, he wouldnt be in Switzerland with the 1st team squad. Still I guess we'll have to agree to disagree

I had forgotten about Punch, but he is better cutting inside. I'm also not sure about Dickson as a winger, a wing back yes, but he's not gonna score goals which we need if we're playing 4-5-1. As you say AL is naturally right footed and was also great when he cut inside, but sometimes you need an out and out winger to beat the man on the outside. I know I'm wasting my breath with a lot of peope on here, but I rate Lee and think he could be important for us this season. However, to quote dannysfc, "we will see !"

Not clear but it looks like Seaborne is 19 (previously 35) and Connolly is 22 (from 38 ). Can't see Lee Holmes giving up the no. 11 shirt either

Most underated player we've had in my time supporting saints. Rarely lost the ball, strong, scored goals.... Best player at all those skills since Beattie

Holmes looked really good when he got a run in the first team last season. I rate him, and i think Pardew does too providing he is fully fit. Delighted to see him on the tour as he is our only naturally left sided midfielder (assuming Mills will play as a left back)

Rumour on the HCDAJFU thread is that he's being used as a makeweight in a deal for chris lines. There were also reports of him having a trial at a Portuguese team. All rumour though atm

Ah thanks OSM. I remember that injury now. So unlucky for him but at least he's still playing. Hopefully he'll get another a chance in the FL at some point, ala Ademono and Antonio

HCDAVGJFU. Was very highly rated as a kid iirc, I think he turned down Fulham and Celtic to join Ipswich, where he was a first team regular for a couple of years but less so last season. Like Morgan and Lallana I think he needs a new start in a lower league. sign him up
