I can't see anything particularly significant in those goal times at all. In fact, they look a pretty even spread - and I am not going to start complaining that we are not conceding enough goals in the first half. Now if they were all around 85 minutes or beyond (or even if the majority were) then you may start to question the fitness of concentration at the end of the match.
-
Of course. We are not going to get through an entire season with just 3 CBs (or 4 if you include Lancs, who may go out on loan possibly).
-
Anyone think Wotton did OK tonight? I thought so anyway.
-
Was a good performance - shame about the result. Can't help thinking the performance against Brum last season in the same comp was a good performance too - and then we went pear-shaped for the rest of the season. Hopefully the reverse will happen this time. Any news on Murty...and what was the opinion of the 5-live team?
-
I will let you know how I get on with that ;-)
-
I find I can get more distance with my 52 gap wedge - but the problem is the fact that the ball is the wrong shape afterwards and it has usually decapitated someone before coming to rest. At Stoneham decapitation is treated as a serious misdemeanour - especially in a medal.
-
Yes - and it was a major (the US PGA ) - call yourself a pro ;-) Seriously though, I often overhit them myself. Too tense perhaps?
-
Well I have a tendency to catch those short lofted shots from heavy rough a bit thin - especially under pressure on a par 3 in a major.
-
But surely a good swing is like winding up like a coiled spring, then unwinding to deliver the power power to the ball contact at the optimum moment. Avoid swaying forward during the unwinding so as to avoid coming across the ball and pulling it left. Winding up is crucial I think you'll find.
-
OK - so who is winding who up now?! I just want an answer to my chipping problems FFS
-
Is that some sort of new fangled canned instant coffee?
-
I have bought a ticket in row FF in block 35 just to have a listen. My chipping has been a bit iffy recently and I think it's a mental thing - what say ye?
-
Why did the ball boys have the balls taken from them?

LOL - like anyone in our team is going to have to worry about that -
Well you should have turned around and put them straight. I just could not have kept quiet in the face of such ignorance.....but what has it got to do with the thread about golf?
-
Naah - a handicap is calculated from your previous competition results. The only thing a handicap secretary can do is reduce your handicap based of general play if it is warranted, which makes more difficult for you. You can't have it randomly adjusted to your liking before each event. Granted, the odd charity event or company golf day is rife with dodgy golfers on dodgier "made-up" handicaps - but they are always people who don't belong to a club at all....and yes they do often waltz off with the prizes after some ludicrous "net" score more often than not....and yes we all have to clap politely while they walk up and get their prize(s) donning stupid grins. Hang on, I am sounding like you now  I can see why it might be perceived as elitist - but it really isn't. Anyone can play, and most private clubs have hoards of youngsters from all walks of life joining and playing for a pittance.
-
Now now NC. We have already established that you are a closet golfer, so you know full well that you cannot manipulate your own handicap prior to any competition. Pretending not to know how the handicap system works is not going to cut any ice in this little wind-up exercise is it
-
LOL - you sound to me like a closet golfer who has had a bad experience at a private course. Go on, admit it - you failed the interview at Stoneham didn't you ;-) I didn't and I am in (smug smiley thing)
-
Don't worry Nick. He is off to support Arsenal soon.....
-
Are you posting on an SFC fans forum or auditioning to be the screenplay writer for the New Orleans equivalent of "The Wire" ?
-
Maybe so. I am going, but not because I think we have a chance to win the competition. I just want to see the team play and see first hand whatever positives and negatives there are in the performance....and if I am pleasantly surprised by the result that that is a bonus. It was only £8 and it is better than watching Casualty.

Without wishing to sound rude or intolerant, I believe you are being a bit of a drama queen.
-
Duncan Holley maybe? Saw some reference to book writing earlier.

He is also not immune from the accusation of rudeness and intolerance. Most regular posters have been rude and intolerant at least once....except ladysaint of course ;-)
