There are still approximately 200 or so tickets for the seated areas to shift before the terrace becomes available. -
Thanks for the advice. I'll do a methodical check tomorrow when I've collected all the relevant gear needed.

When my old man was a lad, they couldn't boo the players because there'd been a war, and times was 'ard. Booing was rationed until the mid 1950s I believe.

I'd just like to say that I was, in fact, allowed in.

I have to say that I am pleasently surprised by the lack of hysteria really. It was with great trepidation that I logged on late yesterday afternoon, but I think most of the criticism has been qualified with reasons and/or alternatives and is constructive. Not ALL, but most. However, if we lose to Bournemouth then the forum may explode.

I do take your point though. I teach people to learn to fire steam engines, very much an art and very confidence based. The first thing I do is to get them to relax and try to enjoy the learning process, which can take a long time, and importantly, accept that they will balls things up now and then. However, today's footballers are very much up against the 'instant gratification' culture.

Drop KD - goal was his fault as he didn't need to come off his line and his kicking was carp. Drop Jaidi to let him know he's not a definite. Either Martin or Seaborne in. Apart from that, injuries permitting I'd let the same team play as they will be desperate to put it right.

What does everyone want? C'mon quick now, or he'll be gone.

Slightly unfair analagy if I may put in my 5 eggs. Part of a professional footballer's mental make up needs to be able to perform in a public arena, sometimes being watched by literally millions of people around the world (not just yet for Saints ). They need to be able to cope with both good and bad responses from the crowd early on in their career or they won't make the grade, no matter how good they are at the game physically. All our team have been in the game long enough to prove they have that mental strength, so I don't think they'll be affected badly by it. On the contrary, most footballers are as thick as 2 short planks and immune to all forms of abuse! They just go home and console themselves by looking at their bank statements:lol:

Got back from North Wales on Wednesday in the trusty Ronmobile (Vauxhall Diesel Astravan, 03 reg, 99K on the clock) after having done about 500 miles, no problems. Used the van on Thursday afternoon briefly around town. Got some stuff out of the van on Friday lunchtime using the electronic key to unlock the doors but didn't go anywhere. Saturday morning - go to get in the van to go to the match, using the key again as per usual, but no response from the van ie doors don't unlock, lights don't flash. Get in the van and all is dead electronically. First problem I've had with it in 3 years and 30k miles. I won't be able to check the battery until tomorrow when I can get hold of a charger, but it all seems a bit sudden for charge leaking off etc. Fuses? Any ideas? Also, this meant I had to get the train to Southampton from Taunton instead of Yeovil Junction. Every time I did this last season we failed to win at home, yet every time I caught the train from Yeovil, we not only didn't lose, but won. So yesterday's result is, I'm afraid, my fault. Sorry.
