I can assure you the stamping happened, and that the Yeovil guy was on the deck and not moving, he was no threat at that point to anyone. Off course it takes a really brave and hard man to kick and stamp on a guy in that condition. It was sickening to view and I never want to see it again, if it means the assailant gets a jail term then so be it, he made a decision to carry out the attack where as the Yeovil whatever he did before that was in no position to defend himself. The cctv is pretty good at that point ,so they'll be caught and IMHO anyone who witnessed it should do all they can to assist in making sure its dealt with through the courts and that justice is done whatever the outcome in 'forum' court. The age of the guys involved, they were not youngsters amazed me, perhaps the 'chavs' banging on the stadium arn't so bad?

sure plenty off us would walk on by if the incident was on a fair footing ie, both sides giving as good as they were getting, however when a guy is flat out on the ground and then gets stamped on then thats gone beyond the limit If you can identify the guys in the pictures then do it, they want to question them, who knows they maybe witnesses!!!! I want to be able to walk to and from a football ground with my daughters and not feel that I'm going to get caught up in the over spill of thuggish egos as happened at the Yeovil game.

another great signing so nearly a full team davis (who nearly left so could be a new signing) murty jadhi trottman harding melias hammond waigo lambo connolly no excuses now as Pardew has his own team
-
DH's only problem so far as far as I'm concerned is allowing the attacker to get inside him, having said that if the guy does turn him and go inside hopefully he's delayed them long enough for either a midfielder or a centre back to help out

Um Papa Um Papa he scores the goals simples

Um Papa Um Papa he scores the goals (well maybe lol)

Lallana had his best game last night when in and around Lambert, midfield is still Spiderman and Hammond, back four yes thats sorted Thomas,or Murty , Jadhi, Trottman and Harding, so we just need to sort two places. Melias isn't it, he's indisclipine costs us, we need width and pace or at least width and tracking back in support. Kelvin's kicking needs sorting as well, same ball easily returned, last night felt we needed Gillett at 20mins to go to fire up the pace in midfield, we allowed then to step up and play when we should of been hustling and harrying Holmes is the only one I think is ready for this league, Waigo not convinced yet, at times the ball bounced off him other times first touch seemed perfect, maybe pace isn't the answer, more the intelligence to play the ball and when to hold it, yes fast front to back is good quick on the break yes good as well, but sustained pressure by winning second balls would win us points more than pace alone. so perhaps we need a list of wingers, not the quickest but genuine width and then make sure Pardew sees it, and also get one of his coaches sat in either Chapel or Northam and actually report to Pardew whats going on, the view from the touchline is pretty restricted and to affect the game its no good watching the video afterwards

well the keeper made two cracking saves in second half and the winning goal was a scorcher, however all tonights goals came from the same side, with Harding exposed each time, first two by Melias being woefully out of postiton subbed straight after the second, the third should of been shown outside not allowed to turn inside. good game though, Lallana had best 20 minutes i've seen from him, so yes disappointed but we really should off been clear of them before the 2nd equaliser.

The 7.45 kick off is perfect for me, leave work, travel in opposite direction collect kids, then up to ST Mary's stopping off to grab some food. Not everyone lives in Southampton, however for cup games I don't see it as an issue, however league games for which many season tickets travel quite a distance then 7.45 or 8.00 makes it possible.

I think the only person who should have a stand named is Ted Bates, the true grandfather of this club. The others yes great players but how would you decide, Ted I believe would be the only one to receive all round support , and really it should be the Itchen renamed as his statue is placed there.

The day,s of 'Pirate Paul ' and the make mine a double t shirts, the Man U 6-3 shirts etc and not forgetting the dodgy car lot!
-
yes Docker P ,alarmed as scared was probably too strong a word for what happened and as we know that kids imitate what they see whose not to say in the playground it'll get repeated when 'rival' teams get the usual school ribbing over a result. we've all seen the chavvy teens and we all in reality know that teen hormones don't take a lot to start a pack mentality, so to trivialise what happened can't be a good thing, no fan should accept it now, I don't care what happened at grounds in the 70's and 80's , tell you what in the 40's my grandparents were at war, doesn't mean we shouldn't learn and strive to avoid it in the future

SO THERES NEVER ANYONE INNOCENTLY WALKING BY WHEN IT ALL KICKS OFF? Never heard so much drivel as the above two posts regarding they went looking for it, what sort of an excuse is that ? ALL fans should be able to sit in the ground or walk to or away from the ground without having the need to cross the road to avoid a group of moron's attempting to maim each other. The scuffle on Saturday at the crossroads rapidly moved across the road , there were children close by who were quite rightly alarmed, but of course all the heroes doing the fighting made sure that they didn't strike anyone else whilst they were in full control of their actions? They didn't spill across the road without a care for anyone else ?
-
Well I hope anyone who saw any of this kicking off actually did what was needed and helped the OLD BILL identify those involved, theres no need for it, the guy on the floor not moving was whilst on the ground, by the 'brave few' The good fans of this club need to drive these morns out by making sure they know they'll be getting their collars felt

The ticket price reflects the economics of the club, the size of the wage bill, both wages for playing staff and the backroom staff, the facilities which will all have utilities bills to pay, rates etc Saw no one complaining when Pardew bought Lambert, Hammond etc We get next to ******* all tv money in this league , but the price of players is reflected down from the higher divisions which do benefit from the money. What we should be thinking is that the price from last year couldn't sustain the club, the income streams led to admin, regardless of how other clubs/ leagues run their finances SFC have set the price to reflect its own needs, if it was making huge amounts of profit from the ticket prices then last year shouldn't of happened?
-
The club has been told it has to stand on its own feet, it will not incur debt, so perhaps a projection of the expected gates was how they arrived at the price? If that's the case which I would hope everyone on here would agree is likely, then what you can't do is what the previous regimes did and **** off season ticket holders by reducing prices to league games, that will have a negative effect on future season ticket renewals. The scope is there with cup games as they are an unknown quantity, a long cup run doesn't mean you'd get all home games either, but it probably would mean the club was playing well and therefore more on the day purchases for league games which may the following season lead to more season ticket sales. If you think the price is too high my attitude is tough, the club has to survive, if the price of the stadium , the policing, the training facilities , the squad etc means £30 tickets then thats where we are, How deep is your love of football ? I'd like to go watch every Gran Prix but its too expensive(my loves not that deep) so I don't go but watch tv or listen on the radio . How many whinging about the price of the tickets have a Sky Sports subscription? Guess who drove up the prices of players by pumping in money to the game? At the end of the day its a club to run at a profit not a charity providing somewhere for people to pop along for a cheap Saturday afternoon and then go home go online and whinge that the footballs crap and that the whole squad need overhauling with quality expensive players !!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Fed up with absolutely NO decent Saints coverage on local radio...
ringwood replied to Gordon Mockles's topic in The Saints
Yes since the loss of the 20 past the hour sports reports other than match commentary of which the quality varies considerably the Radio Solent coverage is useless. Remember when it used to be necessary to listen at 20 past in the mornings and evening so not to miss a snippet? . Still that said we still get 96.1FM down here in Dorset to cover Saints whereas the sad blues have to go to medium wave or digital in Hampshire so perhaps a little of the old school bias towards Saints being the top side on Solent still resides? Meridien has always been pants , but now the region is so large the football coverage has just got to the stage of a joke, wheres the reporting on the takeover,s ? wheres the investigation into the good Dr or the real investigation into Pinnacle? -
hmm so lets blame the old regime, we have built the stadium the wrong way round !
-
when will people get dates and cash amounts in true order, all the sales Art mentions meant the club survived, they paid the wages whats the problem with the board? nowt dosesn't score any goals as far as I can see and the accountant still there well so what , didn't see him let in last minute goals either just because you buy 11 players doesn't make a team of world beaters, look at Aug and Sept as the pre season, then play all the new team together then assess it
-
patterson, hmm can't get past a player melias , hmm can't get past a player thompson , hmm can't get past a player Yes I thought yesterday when they went a man down was the time for Spiderman to come on, and Fish, then stretch them, we didn't we either all pushed to the left or straight down the middle. I thought maybe Thompson was invisible at first as the ball never went up to him. Who else thought it took ages to get the ball moving from Kelvin? , it all changed when their captain went off injured, Saints stopped at that point , nearly lost a goal in that last minute and near regained any real tempo. When Fish came on we didn't allow him any space because it seemed to me that the whole team migrated to that side of the pitch doing Colchesters work for them.

he signed a 1 year extension in August 08 and is under contract until 2012. would be good , maybe he's not a loan but as suggested there's a deal going the other way for one of those immovable telegraph poles we have at St Mary's !!
-
lets have Lallana up front just off Lambert, then Perry for Lancashire. i'd have Mcglaggon on the bench if he's fit and just give him a run out for say 20 mins but as has been said we need width, so Holmes playing would need Spiderman to put the ball about to exploit the width, leaves Wotton to play in the middle uless we can find a really mobile CB then maybe put Gillet in for Wotton. to win first we need to scare the opposition, and stop them playing, then Spiderman can start to pass the ball about, into feet for Lallana or out wide to Holmes, but to do that we need a CASE/BALL/CMFG/ or even a Carlton Palmer in midfield to break it up

How damaging do you think the Pinnacle fiasco will be..?
ringwood replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Seems to me we have no proof who paid what on behalf of Pinnacle, but what we do know is that the money paid the wages etc and kept the club alive. NO ONE on here knows that ML would of paid that figure. Time to move on, the entire thread is based on speculation, who knows if the question had been:- would the club still exist if Pinnacle hadn't paid a deposit? -
so Euell or Prutton?
-
Def take him back, the few times I've seen him play since for Leeds always thought we missed a trick. Play him in the right position which for this club on recent form would be a change and I reckon he'd do ok. Always vocal which lets face it other than Euell whoelse actually says boo? Passion is something many on here hark on about, a player who certaily displays that gets mentioned and its 'no he's ot good enough' People wake up , we will not be buying Prem quality, we have Interational Strikers at the club that many on here are slating I'm sure if someone said we were signing, Bridge, Terry, Lescott and Johnson alog with Lampard, Gerrard,Rooney Barry then Owen and Heskey someone would complain we'd signed Englishmen!
