Did it take Fonte that long? How long had he been a regular starter for a Prem team before being picked? 18 months I think.
-
He wasn't playing in Italy.
-
Unlikely to be flying in from Italy, not that it matters where he flies in from I guess!
-
It looks pretty certain this Cedric bloke is signing, don't need to be ITK for that.
-
Who you thinking?

Sounds like we're getting this chap for circa £3.5m.

Fixtures out tomorrow - who will we get first game?

Games after the 3rd round qualifier and play off games will also not be on Saturday - Newcastle away, Norwich at home, Watford away. -

No midweek league games prior to Xmas, that's pretty unusual I think? -

If we make Europa group stage 5 of the 6 games will be followed by an away league game. -

Is there confirmation of when tv games will be announced? Heard a rumour of a week's time, but would be good to know for definite. Newcastle first up is a tough one, new manager and I reckon they'll bring in a few decent signings. Watford away will still be tough, early enough for them to have the newly promoted bounce. Quite happy with the fixtures after potential Europa League group games, few away games we'd probably lose anyway. -

You probably want to delete that. -
Does it not encourage more to try their luck though? And the more that migrate, the more unsustainable the situation becomes.

It's a relatively low risk purchase based on his potential. What sort of goal return from last season would get you excited?

£16m for a top Central Midfielder would still be reasonable, can't always get absolute bargains.

But they wouldn't be getting a decent amount of game time, 50% of fixtures ain't great for players in their peak. I'm sure the club would like to have both if they could easily afford them and keep them reasonably content, neither of those things would be likely though.
-
I can't see us having both or either being content with the set-up if we did. We'll have a few more games this coming season, but it'd still leave one of the players with a load of time sat on the bench. A club like Saints don't have players like Pelle or Austin as "back-up". One of the toughest things for a club our size is building upon a great first XI and creating a really good squad - we're not enough of a pull and don't have the wage structure to have top players sat as back up.

Can't see Bologna coming close to according Pellè, unless they've had a massive cash injection. Pellè is playing for a very good Premier League side, a manager that he works very well with, starts for the Italian national team; I can only see it being a really top Italian team offering good money to tempt him.

Why are Spurs so keen for a new right back?
