Ronald Koeman on Artur Boruc's future at Saints
Sour Mash replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Sad to see yet another soppy prima donna footballers that can't be bothered with the absolute basics of being a professional. Fingers crossed we're able to source a decent back-up option, there must be one out there, although 2nd choice keeper is probably the hardest position in football to recruit for. It will be interesting to see where Boruc ends up, I'm not sure how many decent level teams around Europe will be looking to offer big wages and a decent contract to a stroppy, injury prone 34 year old, he came to us in the September 2012 whilst without a club for a reason. -
Look through the first choice keepers throughout the Prem, how many of them are in their mid 30s?
-
"The Stadium Bowl" made me cringe a bit. Hog roast will be decent in the very unlikely event it's done well.
-
I'd love to see a fanzine come out like the ones in the late 80s/early 90s, Ugly Inside, Red Stripe, On the March, I'd definitely buy that.
-
They did that last season as well, so assume it happens all the time.
-
So going to be less than 2k West Brom down by the looks of it.
-
Just link your account to your mates, then buy in one go.
-
I completely agree with your assessment of Davis and what he brings to the team and there is some logic regarding your need for Wanyama in uch a game against West Brom, however I think he still plays an important role allowing our full-backs to bomb forward and there is no way he will be dropped after his performance at Anfield. You can see with the addition of a CB (Gardos) and a "winger" into the squad, we're quite well set, apart from a question mark over goalkeeper back up.
-
I never saw him play in Holland, so if he is naturally a left wnger, I'm happy to go with that now, but he doesn't seem the type to be great at going on the outside of a full back or particularly brilliant at crossing, looks more suited to me at driftng in with a full back over-lapping outside him. Early days still, will be interesting to see.

What has MacKay actually said or done?
-
Would take a guess at 27k, without knowig exactly how many WBA have sold.
-
Hold on, you seriously think the club would just demote Boruc to 5th choice? If he wants to push for a move, done in the right way while professionally carrying out his role at the club, then no-one would have a problem with that.
-
Yes, I found that surprising, the link-up between Clyne and Tadic was a definite positive from pre-season, so a bit surprised to see Tadic start on the left on Sunday - possibly a tactic to counter Liverpool. Will be interesting to see where Tadic starts against West Brom.
-
My assertion was you didn't have any evidence to support your point of view. I was correct.
-
I think block 43 is now on sale to Saints fans. Ticket sales haven't looked great for us at all. Guess West Brom might bring 2k down, not bad.
-
It was simply your original assertion I was questioning, unfortunate to see it was based on nothing.
-
He's missed quite a few games with us across the two seasons for various injury issues, by goalkeeping standards he has been quite injury prone.
-
We have hardly slated players for leaving at all this summer, Saints fans have been magnanimous more than most would be. I doubt many would have a problem with Boruc if he moved on, but if he chooses to throw a strop, not be a useful 2nd choice whilst at the club then he can well and truly be told to f**k off by our fans and rightly so.
-
Ok, so you agreee there isn't any evidence, glad we've got that cleared up.
-
Compared to large parts of London, Luton, Bradford, Birmingham. Not really comparable at all.
-
Is there any evidence of people arriving in this country and then becoming "moderate"? No. We went to war in Iraq whilst having a large muslim population in this country, so it had no positive impact in "our behaviour" or to "promote future good relations".
-
Regardless of any of that, Boruc is still a paid professional with a job to do at Saints. No-one expects him to be happy with the situation and there is nothing wrong with wanting to move on, but there is a right and wrong way to go about doing that.

Southampton isn't really a great example of significant levels of immigration, the numbers are still very marginal and focused on tiny areas, compared to London, Birmingham, Bradford, Luton etc.
