  1. Taylor 7-2 Whitlock IMO. and that's if Whitlock's at the top of his game. Taylor ALWAYS raises his game for the final
  2. Islam4UK are a group which have been repeatedly denounced and condemned by the Muslim Council of Britain. What Islam4UK are planning is absolutely ridiculous that will only fuel Islamophobia.
  3. Apparently Steve Parrish is indefinitely banned from Macau. According to Steve Hislop's autobiography, he accidentally blew up a brothel over there. Practical joke that went awry.
  4. Of course how could I forget my favourite commentary partnership? Both Cox and Parrish are excellent in their own ways and the humourous banter between the two just makes the partnership. Would be a massive shame if Cox stopped commentating on MotoGP
  5. I know there was a pundit one like this on here recently so I'd thought I'd start one relating to commentators Like Murray Walker (ex-F1) - Yes he got things wrong towards the end of his career but after 50 years commentating and being in his mid 80s who can blame him? He could commentate on a snail race and make it exciting. Martin Brundle (F1) - Vast technical knowledge and always on the ball John Gwynne (PDC Darts) - Just so unique in his style. Peter Alliss (Golf)- Not a big fan of golf, but his voice goes so well with the TV coverage. If you r one of the few that don't find golf boring it's almost meditation. Brian Moore (Rugby) - He does moan a bit but can be very humourous and does know the technicalities and laws of the game inside out. Considering he's also a fully qualified solicitor and manicurist as well as an England International, he deserves a hell of a lot of credit after disclosing today that he suffered sexual abuse as a child. Jonathan Pearce (Football) - Prefer him to most other football commentators Dislike Tony Green (BDO Darts) - an old prejudiced 80s relic who pretends the PDC doesn't exist, some of his classics last year included, "Eric Bristow won the world title 5 times, I don't think it'll ever be repeated", (Player requires 78) "he might go 25 and bull here", (Player requires 3) "I wonder which way he'll go". Has to be the worst commentator out there at the moment Clive Tydlesley (Football) - Irritating, can't stand his "On that night in (insert European capital city here)" Sid Waddell (PDC Darts) - Yes he has immense knowledge of the game but he's past his sell-by-date and rants on and on about Taylor even when he's not playing in the match he's commentating on Motson & Lawrenson - The worst double act to commentate on England games Jacqui Oatley - The woman who did commentary on MOTD, I have no problem with female football commentators but one would expect any football commentator (regardless of gender) to have some form of commentating talent They are all the ones I can think of currently
  6. I'm gonna miss the Taylor vs Lewis game tonight If Taylor ain't at the top of his game and averaging 107-110 minimum I can see Lewis beating him if maintains his current form. However this is why Taylor is as good as he is, not only does he always raise his game when he needs to against an in-form player, he knows how to get under hie in-form opponent's skin. This Whitlock-Wade game should be good
  7. 3rd March
  8. I was thinking that. Makes a complete mockery of it really
  9. Seems like their just trying to buy time, challenging the order. Their PR recently has reminded what the Japanese PM said after Hiroshima/Nagasaki 1945, "The war situation has developed not necessarily to our advantage"
  10. just been playing around with the site. Nickh has posted 287 times in this thread so far, 111 more than the next prolific poster on this thread

Whilst it doesn't make the Iranian regime less brutal, those robbers did know the punishment before they did the crime.

    Couldn't agree with you more.

I take your point and I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong here but when interviewed the family were fully aware and emphasising what mental issues he had, and when asked by the interviewer as to why he was living in Poland (not for a short time I understand) and to how he was getting on the relative didn't have a clue. Now of course the family can't control him by remote control and he's fully entitled to his independence, but to have no idea where he is or what he's up to when they are aware of his mental health situation concerned me somewhat. I fully appreciate I'm only going on what I heard on BBC News 24 and don't know the family or their relationships but even so . . . Of course this doesn't make the disgraceful Chinese justice system any better, and is a mere illustration of what the Chinese government thinks when it comes to human rights. I suppose it also highlights the difficulty when dealing with mental health issues, as with Shaikh he never had his condition diagnosed.
  14. Can someone start a "what's Michael Wilde doing now" thread just to make a change?

The Chinese government say a lot more than that if one of its citizens mentions "Tianamen Square" and "1989" in the same sentence. . . Can't believe that was 20 years ago. But it's all a very sad state of affairs, I may be misunderstanding this but if this bloke was as mentally unstable as the family says, why was he doing living in Poland on his own?
  16. LOL less than 50 posts and the Lowe debate is reignited. What a suprise Lowe did have a tough job (and initially didn't make a bad fist of it) running this club in the Premiership off the TV money, but unfortunately some horrendous decisions and the bloke's sheer arrogance undid a lot of the good things he did and a lot of people on here forget.

course they are. One of the worst dictatorships in the world when it comes to treating it's citizens. Unlike Burma/North Korea/Iran, we unfortunately have too many commercial interests in China to give a damn.
  18. One minute Barney's shaking his head and averaging 85, the next he hit's a 9 darter. Where the hell did that come from?

another potential issue is the family. I heard one of the close relatives being interviewed on BBC2, the reporter asked her "how was he surviving and coping living in Poland considering his mental health issues"? The answer was "I don't have a clue". If this poor guy is as ill as the family claim maybe they should have kept a closer eye on him. . .
  20. TBH it baffled me as to why we signed him in the first place. Our finances were awful at the time and we already had KD & Bart

    Our Chances?

    1) Certainly 2) Yes 3) Probably, I think the team has come on at an extraordinary rate of progress and we are on a par with Charlton and Norwich and I can only see us getting better. I'm predicting us vs Norwich in the play-off final. If we don't finish in or marginally outsidethe playoffs I'll be disappointed
  22. Be a shame if he went, I've always rated him In the last season and a half he hasn't really had the chance to form a regular partnership with anyone.
  23. Starts again today. Can't wait for the King - Stompe match. If Co is on form that could be a cracker
  24. The 25th December was a very special date in the pagan calendar which involved presents and trees. It's also widely believed (even amongst Christian scholars) that Jesus was not born on this day. Sure it's evolved, it's turned into a festival of greed and consumerism. Ebenezer Scrooge over and out
  25. Kanu when he was playing for WBA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6RFUWEqWTk (starts at 0:38) Who can forget Ronny Rosenthal?
