From BBC Sport's David Ornstein on Twitter: "Unless big late offer for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, he's staying at Southampton. He trained today & senior source tells me club NOT in any talks."

Whcih is why Man U played their first choice keeper. . . oh 2nd string keepers frequently get played for cup games and I'm very confident Davis will be back for our next league game.

Djokovic takes it in straight sets

If they do go bust, Peter Storrie must be awarded the freedom of the city of Southampton

Yep, Utaka's gone to montpellier, undisclosed figure although I'm hearing £500k

TBF I think that is how his name is correctly pronounced

Thought it was the perfect result today if I'm honest. If we'd have won you just know we'd have turned up against Peterborough with the "we beat man u we can beat anyone in this league easily without effort" attitude and lost. Chaplow was sensational today and his goal summed up his performance. Only negatives really was Guly occasional sloppyness and Lambert looking spent after 55 mins. We produced a fantastic performance without Lallana against Man Utd, the first half I genuinely thought we were the better team. It's a result and an encouraging performance that will be a big confidence boost, but won't let complacency creep in aND WE CAN NOW CONCENTRATE ON THE LEAGUE 100% Thank you caps lock, I really can't be bothered to change that

I was merely relieved Tyldsley didn't roll out the "on that night in . . ." line

I can't wait for the ITV coverage of the Game.
JackFrost replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
It isn't just ITV. Eurosport's coverage was pretty shocking the other day of the Asian cup. The last group games get played at the same time and they were broadcasting one, they then said "let's hear what's happening over in the other game (clip shows half chance being missed) "and while we were showing you that there's been a goal in the game here. . . ." I really hope Clive "on that night in (random world city)" Tyldsley isn't doing the commentary for the Saints game -
I did email them and get a reply but they confirmed what we already discovered on here, that they were allowed up to 5 loan players and were within the rules

these Mercedes threads are driving me round the bend

I remember watching it once and some bloke had blatantly fooled the system, he had a good start to the game and dealt after the second round winning about 25 grand. Edmonds and the audience were aghast at what he'd done at the time and it turned out he'd won way more than he could have at any other stage at the game. Another one that makes me turn off is when the audience start chanting "blue, blue, blue, blue" just before someone opens a box. The most absurd one was when they supposedly had a power cut and the lights, mics etc. all went off. Amazingly though the cameras stayed on even though Edmonds later claimed workmen had drilled through an underground cable and knocked all the power in the building off.

It's basically a gameshow subtley designed to tempt people to make reckless gambles (Edmonds calls it 'courage') by chasing big money and ending up going with hardly any money at all. They blatantly only let certain people on there who believe in "positive thinking" and have no financial sense at all. The whole thing is so staged it's cringeworthy to the extreme

I believe in Storrie's case yes. The MM and 'arry cases don't have anything to do with Pompey FC, so I believe If Storrie was found guilty and Pompey got a points deduction which consigned them to league 1, then we would have to start a campaign on here to give Peter Storrie the freedom of the city of southampton

"But I don't feel it's appropriate for Muslim prayers to be said, as I don't feel we worship the same God as Muslims, so I left.'" Christians worship the same God as Muslims do so he is an ignorant man if nothing else

The World will become racked by famine, mass migrations and riots...

Thought we were already at this stage -
Have just sent them a quick email on this matter You never know your luck

so we're talking about the loan players Sonko, Hogg, Dickinson, De Laet and Halford being on the pitch at the same time. That's 5 players. Have we got confirmation anywhere that the limit is 4? Are we sure it isn't 'you can't start a match with more than 4 loan players? Are we sure it applies to 'emergency loans'? According to the write up on the beeb website, all 5 of those players were on the pitch between the 64th and 89th minute, between the time Dickinson came on for Kanu and Hogg being subbed for Hreidarsson. Are there any contact details anywhere where a few of us can email the FL?

The Exeter game is pretty key, there must be a reaction and we need to win to keep the long term momentum going. when huddersfield beat us we won our next 4 games, when brentford beat us at St Mary's we won our next 5 games. That indicates some ability to bounce back.

Well you said yourself during the Tranmere game considering we are 2 points off automatic promotion with a game in hand with 20 games to go (21 for us) are you surprised a lot of posters are more optimistic than that?

I called that a few weeks ago. I think the rest of the season is going to be very long and very hard for them. Week by week the likelihood of them getting involved in a relegation scrap goes up a notch every week

about 600 Burnley fans there I think. On a different note Andy Awford is taking over as manager of the Portsmouth Youth team. That must be easy, the training sessions probably involve him lying on a deckchair next to an empty field
