It'll be quiet from now til the end of the season I suspect. I think that is when the fun will start again. Until the it'll be Pompey's usual inconsistent form that will see them finish around 10th-12th place in the league. Hopefully the summer is when the fun resumes

It amuses me how quiet the middle eastern peace envoy has been throughout all of this, wonder if it has anything to do with him being mates with Gaddafi . .

Safri was definitely a Muslim, was behind why he left for to play for Qatar SC

Well the obvious choice would be the Mazda MX-5

It is bloody awful. It's as bad as the song that gets released every year for the X Factor number one, that get's the lyrics rewritten every year and the title changed to make it sound like a different song

Quite, our fate is pretty much in our own hands. It will be tight between us, Huddersfield and Peterborough. I'm hoping Peterborough have peaked too early and we have peaked just at the right time. They may have won 6 out of their last 7 but maintaining that will be very difficult even with the ridiculous amount of goals their scoring. I can't help thinking one injury to CMS and they start to comparatively struggle. But like I say, if we keep this winning run going with our games in hand, it will put more and more pressure on our rivals.
-
What you mean two of our promotion rivals both won on the same night? Shock horror!!! Putting Brighton aside (as I genuinely don't see them not winning the league), to you every victory for Huddersfield and Peterborough is another nail in our coffin and every defeat for them is a minor hiccup, whereas every victory for saints is average and every defeat for saints is an absolute disaster. How many weeks ago were "our promotion chances hanging by a thread?"
-
Considering the early season mayhem with Markus' sad passing and Pardew's departure I think our current league position is 'good' It's looking like the worst case scenario will be the play-offs but if we can keep this winning run going and eliminate the silly results against the weaker teams then we will pull away from the pack and take the second auto promotion spot behind Brighton

They stopped being a community radio station about 3 years ago

We've won 3 in a row and I'm hoping this is the run that pulls us clear into the second automatic promotion spot, and we rid ourselves of the careless slip ups to teams we should never be losing against.

I believe the rumours at the time were that a worrying proportion of the SISU money were going to end up in the bank accounts of Hone & Dulieu. It was one of the few things that Lowe, Wilde and Crouch seemed united on. I was saying all along that the only way the club was going to move forward was that these 3 had to have anything to do with the club. Admin was deeply worrying times but the boardroom egos ultimately meant it was the only way out of it

I can just imagine some of the hot heads on here calling each other Mokoenaing Lawrences

Now we've had a brilliant result today and full credit to the lads for beating Bmouth in their own backyard. We have Sheff Wed at home next Saturday and I really hope Adkins drills into the players this week and gets them performing, cos we all know what will happen on saturday at home to the team currently 16th in the league if the players go into that game expecting to win it. It'll be classic Saints to slump to a loss against a lower placed team after such a great result today. So Mr Adkins, get the players working hard this week and lets keep this winning run going that will grab the runners up spot in the league this year COYW!

Invented many years ago as an anti masturbation device (There is genuine truth in that)

but along with the 5 players they have on loan, this leaves them with how many first team players? They simply could nowhere near afford the wages of their squad this year and it all came out of the parachute money or loans from Chainrai. Next year they won't have or will have hardly any of the parachute money left, I doubt they'll have enough players for a starting XI and no money to buy anyone with.
-
Speculation. Although some of the calculations on here illustrate that practically all of the parachute money has already gone through the club

If we win on Saturday: Good for Saints, Bad for Bournemouth
JackFrost replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
With back to back wins and Bournemouth losing last night, I seriously hope this is the start of the winning run that we need to cement our position in the top 2. Now the Saints way of doing the next couple of games is to smash Bmouth in their own backyard, morale to be as high as it has ever been and then go and lose at home to Sheffield Wednesday I really hope Adkins is drilling a bit of discipline into the players and not being afraid to drop anyone who walks out on to the pitch with the attitude of "we're too good not to go up" -
If they don't go up and Chinny pulls the plug I wonder how he'll play it with regards to the PR. I'm thinking it might be blaming 'the Italian clubs withholding transfer money has put us in a unsustainable financial decision' or will he blame Gaydamak? You can bet there won't be the slightest mention of the wages Nugent, Lawrence et al have been on. Obviously it'll all be someone else's fault and if it does happen I suspect we'll get a subtle hint that'll crescendo into a "Pompey likely to be liquidated" story.
-
So long as the likes of Leeds, Burnley and forest match their results over the coming weeks they won't stand a chance
-
There was also the "our promotion chances are hanging by a thread" during the Tranmere game
-
I think you're playing it too much Nah I have actually got mixed up with saints on one or two occasions ie. when we've had a game coming up and I been managing them on FM I've got briefly mixed up their real league position and their position on my FM game. I know what you mean but I don't think I got mixed up to the extent you have
-
I was speaking to 4 skate supporting mates last night and they said Sheffield Utd completely dominated the game against them, the game before that Scunny had a goal harshly disallowed to go 1-0 up. As whenever one of my mates attends an away game they always lose, and he's going to Bristol I think their luck is about to run out
-
and how many people interpret it in the same way. . .
-
I'm guessing it's the way you convey 'the possibility' as a 'fact' in the manner in which you sometimes post on a negative subject. One example was when you posted during the Tranmere game I think it was "Our promotion chances are hanging by a thread" Now if we were in Pompey's current position in this league I'd say you were right. In our current position, I think your well off the mark.
