How about this AC Milan chap Having effectively been unable to play for a year of his three-year deal, which was due to end in 2012, Onyewu negotiated a one-year contract extension and told the club he did not want a salary during his final year. The American, who has recovered from his injury and is part of his country's World Cup squad, will now remain at the San Siro until the end of June 2013. A club statement read: "Onyewu - who has been out for virtually the whole season due to injury, but who at this time is getting ready to face the World Cup adventure in South Africa with his national team - has become a star today with a significant gesture from a personal and professional standpoint. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/8687672.stm

Saint in Paradise replied to suewhistle's topic in The Lounge
So, that's why you get so many visitors from the UK :D -
Ah we now can guess what the next rumour in the Echo will be now then
-
What about having a players name or part of as a sign in name on this forum ?
-
I wasn't there so i don't know for certain, but the picture on page 100 only shows Mr Liebherr and on page 104 nearly all of Mr Liebherr is blocked by players. Perhaps the Echo left him out on purpose ?
-
Just got my Daily Echo 125 years pictorial history book. A couple of photos at the JPT Final have Mr Liebherr in them BUT I can't see any with Mr Cortese.:-k
-
Chelsea will lose 2- 1, :(the CVA will be approved, HMRC will give up :(and they will finish 4th from bottom next year.
-
charles sale still doesn't appear to like Mr Cortese very much "Southampton's self-important Italian executive chairman Nicola Cortese has issued an astonishing attack on critics, saying: ‘I will not be influenced or driven by people who seek to harm the club in the pursuit of personal agendas - whoever they are.’ His main targets are Lawrie McMenemy and Matthew Le Tissier, probably the club’s two most famous names, who have done infinitely more for Southampton over the years than the posturing Cortese." Over the last few weeks the amount of silly / sarcastic replies to serious threads in the Lounge has grown so much that I wonder when the Admin will just merge both. No point in having the Muppet section now.

Was AP one of the managers mentioned as being at the match between Chelsea and Spurs ? Could explain why meeting was postponed and also mean he will be staying. Quote Tottenham and Chelsea sparked a transfer free-for-all on Wednesday by staging a behind-closed-door friendly, specifically to offload players. On offer: Spurs youngster John Bostock The game, at Tottenham's training ground, was attended by scores of managers and scouts from Championship and League One clubs, all eager to snap up a bargain or agree a temporary transfer for some of the younger players on view. Most eyes were on Chelsea left-back Ben Gordon and Tottenham midfielders Dean Parrett, John Bostock and Jake Livermore, who are all available on loan, after their managers, Carlo Ancelotti and Harry Redknapp respectively, decided they would benefit from the experience of first-team football next season. 'The response was incredible,' said one onlooker. 'Just about every manager from the Championship and League One turned up, and there were even one or two from lower Premier League clubs.' http://www.football.co.uk/chelsea/tottenham_and_chelsea_stage_friendly_in_bid_to_offload_fringe_players_rss783189.shtml

:shock: There were 351,000 applications for UK student visas in 2008-09 - with 236,000 visa being issued. The number of overseas students in higher education in 2008-9 in the UK is 251,310. This represents an increase of almost 50,000 in four years. Rogue agents are accused of falsifying documents and helping people to get around the student visa system, the rules of which immigration authorities in the UK have tried to tighten. It is a problem that raises concerns about illegal immigration and the possibility of people with terrorist intentions coming into the country, although in many cases it is the students themselves who are being duped. A meeting of immigration and education authorities in London, the first of its kind, is intended to co-ordinate a multi-national response. Higher education has become a globalised market and the British Council says there needs to be an international approach to tackling fraud. In particular there are concerns about agents fraudulently sending students from Pakistan, India, Kazakhstan and parts of Africa. IF they catch these illegal "students" will the UK be allowed to deport them ? I suspect not. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/education/10106279.stm Perhaps SRS is correct in what he says about students ?
