  1. I had an e-mail asking "why do front row concert seats cost so much"
  2. Makes me smile when I think that over here we have one team who play in the Aussie league and they get more support than pimpey. Bearing in mind that NZ is Rugby mad, followed by Cricket, Sailing and then homegrown Football. They do like watching the PL.
  3. Oh dear I can see trouble now when the rabid left and right wing lot log in.
  4. I suspect Dr Who is trying to build up his post count. Ah remember those days very well
  5. Paying a visit to the fastest computer on earth By TOMOKO OTAKE Staff writer In today's ever-more digitalized world, we all have a tale or two to share about how personal computers have let us down: like how they refused to let us run different programs at the same time or how the data was so heavy that the damned device kept us on hold forever before conducting even the most trivial operation. Well, there is one machine in the world — and it's in Japan — that is absolutely free of such concerns, being the fastest computer on Earth and capable of handling a mind-boggling number of tasks in far less than the blink of an eye. The K computer — which will be available for shared use by researchers in November — is named after the Japanese numerical unit 京 (kei), meaning 10 quadrillion, or 10,000 trillion. By achieving the targeted 10 petaflops, a measure of computer performance equaling 10 quadrillion calculations — or floating-point operations, to be precise — per second, K lived up to its name in November. If humans were to perform the same number of calculations as K does in a second, it would take the world's entire population of 7 billion people — each tackling one problem per second — 17 consecutive days. http://www.japantimes.co.jp/text/fl20120212x1.html .
  6. Surely to goodness he asked around and did his homework before joining them?
  7. Wasn't she the one who basically just shouted rather than singing?? Sad for her family I suppose.
  8. I wonder if the FL will somehow keep pimpey going until the end of the season and then let them die whilst the olympics are on so that not many people notice. I think IF they do get a points deduction, and as the FL has already said " Any deduction of points is not automatic and is at the Board discretion". it will only be 10. They could well use the excuse that the first admin was when they were in the PL not the FL. I am still on the side of OldNick - they will get away with it and won't be toast.
  9. Rumors that Kim Jong-un, the country’s supreme leader, has been assassinated just months after he took power originated on Chinese microblogging service Weibo and have now spread all over Twitter. Others are reporting that Jong-un, believed to be 28 years old, may be on the run rather than dead, but both reports claim that some kind of coup is taking place. One person on Weibo wrote (loose translation): "north korea's biggest leader kim jung un, this morning in beijing time 2:45 am, had his residence broken into and was assassinated by unidentified people, who were shot dead by his bodyguards in korea's embassy in beijing, vehicles are rapidly increasing in number, and have surpassed 30 of them, this sort of battle formation hasn't been seen in over two years. please verify this." The rumors remain unsubstantiated. However, the reports are beginning to attract a great deal of attention, especially now that a couple of American news outlets including the Atlantic Wire have reported on them. Weibo is in many ways the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, and disseminates news at a rapid pace. People were tipped off that there was something happening that involved Jong-Un, who succeeded his late father Kim Jong-Il, because of the mass of cars parked outside of his resident. For good reason, many Twitter users are exercising caution, aware that news like this can spread without much to sustain it. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/02/10/idUS232818209920120210 .
  10. They also think the young lad who went to Fulham was at a much smaller fee than that published in the UK and "The 2008 and 2010 FA Cup finalist is five points adrift at the bottom of the Championship and with a mandatory 10-point deduction looming, faces a difficult task to stay up.
  11. According to the Sun he might be the next Chelsea manager FABIO CAPELLO last night emerged as a shock contender to replace Andre Villas-Boas at Chelsea. The Italian's resignation as England manager has immediately cranked up the pressure on the beleaguered AVB. There is spiralling speculation at Stamford Bridge that the former AC Milan and Real Madrid boss is about to be installed as Blues' eighth boss in eight years. One Chelsea source said last night: "There are strong rumours that Capello is coming and it could be sooner rather than later." http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4120534/Andre-Villas-Boas-feels-heat-as-Chelsea-eye-Fabio-Capello.html
  12. I thought Dr Who was going to start a tiling business a few days ago
  13. By a liquidator I hope.
  14. Just got off the phone from Admin Andy! Howe hasn't contacted him, he hasn't asked PST for 100m proof of funds and he also said that some of the interested parties demands are unreasonable. Did AA mean they want to see the real books and get real genuine info??

  18. Oh yes they do hold power, not openly these days perhaps but they have lots of toadies sucking to to "them" and they have power. These toadies will do what the royals "suggest". .
  19. If I knew I was going to get a letter asking me if I would acept a Knighthood then I would be a Royalist. However as I know I won't be getting that letter I want to be a Republican. .
  20. No need to say sorry to Dr Who mistakes are made, I mean some people reply to the wrong thread oh.
  21. Well they did help on the hush hush 30 years ago but I read a while ago that the UK needs American permission to use those Tomahawk missles, something about the firing codes or something. The UK seems to be in the pocket of the U.S. these days - very sad really. Perhaps you should apply to be the next state and then you would have much more power with the U.S.
  22. I also agree that he is far too good for that lot BUT I am a bit surprised that he went as surely someone at WBA must have known the situation at pimpey and given him a warning? Of course WBA might not have been as well informed as us TSW readers
  23. Ah but what happens if the UK need to use them against Argentina, will the Americans allow the UK to damage Argentinian property like ships or aircraft or even on the mainland?
  24. Sorry people and a great shame but it appears to be false. http://www.snopes.com/humor/letters/zantex.asp It first started in Sept 2001 and the company called Zantex denies any knowledge.
  25. Naughty Rallyboy who failed to read that I had already pointed out Gemmels mistake on the previous page
